P: Support scalable user interface UI for high resolution monitors

I'm using a high resolution monitor(2560x1600). As a result, all the the toolbar fonts and menu fonts are small and hard to see. I do not want to lower the screen resolution as this would defeat the purpose of this monitor.. Will the new CS6 have the ability to increase font sizes to accommidate Hi-Res monitors?

Thanks

An additional comment to my last cry for help. I use Camera Raw as part of my workflow, but that seems not to be sort of end of life. (would be good to know if this is true, please confirm). Checked Lightroom, which I hardly use, and to my surprice, I can stretch this easily over two 4k monitors, and stretch the right part with sliders so they are on the right monitor and the image to develop in the left monitor. This is how it should be! And everything is readable by a naked eye. Awesome! So the big questions is: Why is Camera raw not working like this, and is this not supported anymore? And are we all forced to move to Lightroom?

Upgrade in CC Ph and Camera Raw does not work (updated 25 April 2015).
Sort of Panic!
After upgrade in Adobe CC the histogram is totally black in Camera Raw. Instead, when moving the mouse in the black histogram area, some other "last selected" slider (such as exposure) moves (left/right).
This happens when opening a raw file by selecting it and opening Photoshop, which then opens camera raw. However, if opening camera raw from start (not Photoshop), the histogram is there. But then I cannot use this program in a 4k monitor, so this upgraded added a bug to the other bug making it almost useless. So this nails down to a few simple questions: 1) why can't you folks (programmers at Adobe) fix the bug to make it possible to run the applications using a 4k monitor, starting a raw image with camera raw (and not going via Photoshop)
2) why can't you test the software before sending it out for us to upgrade. This is something I discovered when opening an image. 2 seconds! Not more. It does not work. simple as that!
My recommendation: Buy a 4k monitor if you don't have one.

Photoshop CS6 and newer have support for high resolution displays on MacOS.
For high resolution displays on Windows, you need Photoshop CC 2014.

I purchased CS6 for a HiDPI notebook and Adobe refunded my money as it was not fit for purpose. If I purchase an iMac with Retina 5K display, is there a version of Adobe Bridge, Camera RAW and Photoshop that will work correctly and without the need for binoculars on the computer?

Hi Lisa, that information is incorrect. There isn't a version 16.x. For Windows, HiDPI support was added in Photoshop CC 2014.2.2 (v15.2.2). Retina support was added in Photoshop CS6 v13.0.2 and later:https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/...

Yeah, if it's an enterprise install, you're kind of at the mercy of the sys admins to install the updates (you might want to remind them that the updates also include security fixes).

Thanks, Chris.

Actually, you and Jeff helped point me in the right direction. I finally talked to an Adobe technician on the CS support team. Because CS6 is deployed through a site license, I am unable to upgrade. I am running Creative Suite v.16.0.4. At least, that is what was installed on my two iMacs and MacBook Pro last week. And that is the version that originally shipped without UI scalability a few years ago. According to Adobe, Creative Suite v.16.2.0 shipped with "user interface scalability for high-definition monitors" like the Retina monitor.

So . . . I have to beg the IT team here at Hunter to upgrade and re-deploy CS6. That may be tough. If not, I'll get a magnifying glass. Wish me luck! And thanks for the fast responses and support.

Retina UI Scaling on MacOS is automatic - there are no controls.

Check Help -> System Info to see what version of Photoshop CS6 you are using. It sounds like you still don't have all the updates for some reason.

Dear Jeffrey — Well, I did update CS6. If there are any additional options for UI scaleability, I don't know where they are. Can you tell me? I see no difference in the screen size of tools and menus. Yes, I relaunched the software and rebooted the computer. Under User Interface in Preferences there are NO choices in Illustrator, other than the black/white theme colors. In Photoshop there is one choice, to set the text "large," but that is the choice I made before the update and there is no difference. The tools are the size of a small French lentil, and measure exactly 3mm on the monitor. I have to lean in and put my eyes 8-10 inches away to differentiate between them. I have tried the white-on-black, and black-on-white color themes.
However, when the monitor resolution is reduced to 2048x1152, the tools measure 5mm, and it makes a huge difference in legibility. Unfortunately, the reduced resolution also makes everything a little fuzzy, so tools and menu text are no longer crisp.
Can you tell me where to access the UI preferences?
