Photoshop: Smart Objects retain Scaling Percentage in Options Bar?

This is one i'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see...
Smart Objects are great. The problem is that if i do a bunch of scaling, i'd like to know if i am scaling past 100% of the original size of the image that i made a smart object from. I have no way of knowing that.
My wish is this:
If you make a layer into a Smart Object,
and scale it,
the scaling percentage remains 'sticky' in the transform tool options bar.
So if i scale it down to 86%, the next time i hit the transform tool, the scaling percentage starts at 86%. Right now, if i scale it down to 86%, and hit transform again, it is back at 100%.

    This is really annoying. It would be very much more useful if the scaling was linked to the SO rather than the mask. Currently I have to guess at resizing, then unlink the mask and check to see if I'm at 100%, then relink, then guess again, then unlink and check...This is just blerg.

    Which version of photoshop are you using Joshua?

    Also as David said, you should unlink the layer mask if you have one.

    Huh? isn't this what I explained in my first reply? The SO still retains its percentages, they are just hidden while a mask is linked. I agree that the percentages should be based on the scaling of the SO instead of the mask.

    Try it with a mask on the S.O. i think once a mask has been applied to the Smart Object, it no longer retains the percentages.... and many of my smart objects have masks.
    So i guess to elaborate on my initial post, i want the percentages to remain associated with a smart object when they have masks on them.

    It retains the percentages when I scale with the move tool.

    In cs5 try using Edit>Free>Transform (Ctrl or Cmd +T) instead of transforming with the move tool and clicking on the side handles of the bounding box and the scaling percentages should be retained.

    This seems to be different than from previous versions of photoshop.

    Odd. I am on my computer at home and it is retaining the scaling percentage. i do the exact same thing in my work computer and it doesn't...
    It makes me wonder if a preference or something else is doing this?

    It shows in the options bar and the info panel.
