Bug Reports - Make It Easy

Kevin, thanks for clarifying bug reports (How Do I Write A Bug Report? )

 

It strikes me that a long-standing issue with these kinds of reports is lack of information from posters. Your own post requests the following information be included:

- Adobe Premiere Pro version number
- Operating system - Windows or macOS, and version of those operating systems
- System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM

The "community guidlines" note above the posting form requests this:

- Version of the app

- Platform and OS version

 

I think Adobe could do themselves and their users a tremendous service by making it easier to provide this information. How about a one click button in Premiere Pro ("System Info for Bug report") that collects this information to be pasted into the form.

    Hi Remote Index,

    Thanks for the post. You're right, it's a problem. I raised the issue since I've been working at Adobe. Quite awhile!

     

    The good news is that we might have a feature coming to forums that "suggests" the info the team needs for any post. Sorry I can't give details now, but they're coming soon.

     

    Cool idea about a one-button approach for info. The closest thing in place is in Help > System Compatibility Report. It seems like the feature could be added there. 

     

    You can always tag "@" Kevin-Monahan if you create a post without a reply from me in the thread and needs my attention. This one does, so thank you! Upvoted!

    Hello Stan Jones, thanks for the response and info on the Beta.

    I hope this feature is not limited to the Beta program and that Adobe plans to introduce this on the next update.

    I upvoted that one!

     

    The Beta version has a button for commenting. When you select "report a bug" you get a button for "Copy system Info and Post Message..." When you paste into the response box, it provides that info.
