embedded subtitles in export options

When I generate a subtitle track in Premiere, I have the option at export to either burn them into the mp4 or create a sidecar file.

In order to get those subtitles embedded into the video so that they can be enabled or disabled per the viewer's preference in their video player (and without expecting them to keep the srt file along with the video file), I need to use a third party program to marry the video and srt file (I usually use Handbrake).

I would like to submit for the development team at Adobe, that this feature should be built into Premiere Pro to improve the workflow and avoid having to use additional software to render the file a second time.

@Scott-name-already-in-use,

There are a variety of oddities that evolve with standards (closed caption examples), software development (priorities for limited programming resources), and commercial practices (formats supported). The only 2 embeds PR has (ever?) supported are quicktime and mxf. No new embeds have been added for a long time.

Thanks for the upvote. I should note that I've read that this feature is already available in Premiere for MXF files, but not for most other file formats (including mp4). Seems like a weird distinction. I don't know what goes into the development of the software, but surely it can't be that much of a stretch to make it doable for one file format if it's already there for another (and, as previously mentioned, it's possible to do with mp4 files with software like Handbrake).

@Scott-name-already-in-use,

Upvoted. I thought there was a feature request, but I don't see it. Here's the one discussion I noted:
