Embedded Captions on h264

Is there a way to create embedded captions in premiere pro/ME for h264 or Mpeg Files? I can create them in quicktime but the files are much too large for our workflow and end product.

@Scott-name-already-in-use,

I see that you had submitted this as a feature request:

I've upvoted both of them.

It's wild that 4.5 years later, the solution is still "use Handbrake" rather than a working solution within Premiere itself.

Hi,

OK, I'll move this to Ideas.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have seen a recent request to add mpeg, so I assume still no. And H.264 has not had embeds.

I don't have a link to a feature request - if there is one.

If you post one, put the link here so we can  upvote it.

Thank you for the answer. Is there any other option but quicktime for embedded subtitles? Any compressed format would be majorly helpful.
