Keyboard shortcut for Effects & Presets PLEEEEEASE!!! : )

Hello. I'd like to see a master key to assign effects OR a way to map effects and presets to the keyboard using the Keyboard Shortcut tool.

I've submitted this request before having come from Final Cut Pro and it was a huuuuuge time saver for me in the editing process as I used this feature on FCP multiple multiple times on every single edit I did, every day, and I can't imagine others would not have the same reason for using it as me and I likely very frustrated at how long it takes to apply the Warp Stabiliser effect, for example, to a clip or a series of clips. This is a very consistent task that I do in every edit and many many times in each edit usually. I'm sure I'm not the only person who is constantly adding warp stabiliser to shots by dragging the thing onto every clip and then setting the smoothness percentage. I can't even manage to just select every clip I want to throw the stabiliser on to and then copy paste a version of the effect that I've set the smoothness percentage for. This can't be unusual. Any clip shot handheld with a dslr will need this, just about, if you want to get rid of that minor jitter. Many dslr users out there you reckon..?

I would love to see this, it is a massive massive time saver and I'm confident many many editors would need this feature for the same reason.

I also would love to see functionality so that when you stop your playhead over a clip during playback or by moving the playhead that it automatically selects that clip so that it's settings are ready to play with in the effect controls window. This seems so basic common sense to me to me and I'm trying not to get angry because I know you are good people in there, but it seems some mind numbingly obvious to me as an editor that you would want the clip that you are now looking at to be the one that is selected and presenting it parameters in the effect controls window. FCP did this automatically. PP will do this when the Lumetri Colour window is open...why not for Effect Controls??

Thank you, I appreciate you listening to my rant. I would be over the moon with these changes!!

Greetings, everyone!
I'm the developer of the Excalibur extension, which solves this feature request.

However, many moons have passed, and I decided that applying effects with shortcuts should be accessible to everyone. It's the 21st century and Premiere 26 after all.

Therefore, I made Dagger, a free tool to apply effects with shortcuts or the search bar.

Watch the promo.
Watch the overview.
Read the manuscript.

Unsheathe Dagger.

I hope it will help you in your great deeds.

P.S. Effect presets are not accessible with Dagger.

Stop with all the AI features no one is asking for and focus on how to make PP more intuitive and faster for users.
The first thing you should do is add keyboard shortcuts for individual EFFECTS or a panel where we can customise these effects shortcuts.
I understand it is a difficult task as there are already way too many shortcuts in PP but the effects shortcuts will be a game changer.
Cherry on the cake if we are able to add keyboard shortcuts to our preset and custom effects.

Also you guys have collaborated with Logitech to launch the MX Creative Console with the same vision of bringing in shortcuts for everything.
I sincerely hope you will focus on this feature rather than participating in the AI rat race.
Other competitors already have this basic feature so please don't push me and thousands of PP users to switch the platform.

I feel the same as you Jake.  What's keeping me with Premiere is Excalibur.  I talked about the creator, Ivan, to someone on the Adobe team (don't remember who), but was told that Adobe won't go anywhere near him just because he's Russian.  I don't know if I was given correct information or not, or if that information still stands, but if it is indeed the case, I find it ridiculous.  Ivan has done more to benefit Pr users over the past few years than the entire Pr team has!  I was Ivan's #1 beta tester worldwide when Excalibur came out, so I know the tool inside out.  If something like that became available for Davinci Resolve, I'd probably be able to finally make the move over.

"The product team is very aware of the issue."

That only makes the team's disrespect for Pr's users all the worse.  They KNOW what we need and want and yet DO NOT CARE.  Rather than work on sensible improvements that would help everyone, they give us rounded corners in the timeline that no one asked for and no one wants!  Could their callousness be any clearer?  The only reason I haven't jumped ship to Davinci Resolve yet is because of Excalibur.  If a plugin like that were available for Resolve, I'd finally take the leap.  With the looming economic war that's brewing between Canada and the US, I might make the jump regardless, sometime over the next four years, as I look to boycott all American companies.

I've been following this thread for years. It's so sad it still isn't in the software. I'm also an excailbur user and honestly Adobe should be paying Ian for his hard work because without that plugin I would have certainly switched to another software by now.

Just adding another comment on the pile so hopefully this gets more attention then 20 other ai features no one asked for.

Dear Community,

I am continuing my advocacy on your behalf to make this request a reality. The product team is very aware of the issue. I apologize for the delay. Sorry for the frustration.

Cheers,
Kevin

I've noticed that several Adobe representatives made a lot of promises to folks on January 24, 2023 with very little to zero follow up. Perhaps Adobe could deign to send their spokespeople out to placate the angry masses more than once every two years? Perhaps Adobe could actually execute some of these top rated ideas instead of making false promises?
