Metadata display of audio channel names embedded in imported poly WAV files

Most poly WAVs include metadata about track information like kind of mic used, names of characters, etc. E.g. TX, BOOM, MS. This data is unavailable in the metadata display in PP. Would be great to add this to the default metadata options.

I asked for this in this forum about 3 years ago, don't know if these threads are actually read or not. Davinci has had this for years and years and years. Definitely ready for this in PP sometime in the 20s please.

I agree with this. Sometimes we can see the track name in the iXML Metadata field ( sometimes only in the metadata panel and not in the project metadtatas columns).DaVinci sees it easily and it should be the same in Premiere. It's very important in a professional environnement to be able to be confortable with metadatas basics.

A must have in professional post production! Not even PP can't show this metadata, it can't handle it over while aaf export. So dialog editors have trouble to link back to original files. Every editor should be able to see what audio track was recorded with which mircophone without cpmparing long lists from set. Please make it possible.

It 's a must add to improve the workflow between editing and mixing. As an on-set sound engineer, I am a bit frustrated that the editors, sound editors, and sound mixers can't see the proper name of the tracks. Names that i took the time to write in my field recorder. Instead the have to deal with (A1), (A2).... and sound reports, wich is time consuming. Every other editing softwares and DAWs are able to show those metadata.

It's a major improvement to add, how come it's not already done !

This gets my vote. It's really unprofessional that it's not included. This information should be available as an editable column heading (a la Avid) and should also be visible in the timeline rather than just seeing CH1, CH2 etc

I know it's listed under iXML, but this info isn't available to use as say a column header in the project window or to label the tracks automatically in the mixer when the clip is opened in Premiere (but they're easily shown/labeled in Audition?)

If you look at the metadata tab under iXML there is a track list
