It would be useful to be able to move the captions all the way to the bottom of the screen.

This is a must. please remove this restriction. anyone with a little experience will know to keep the captions within the safe margins when needed but in many other cases we need the ability to customize captions as much as possible. currently this is a deal breaker for me.

Also, what about being able to covert finished edited CC to text layers?

Hey, could you please change this feature for us to have full control over it (without the 10% margin)

thank you, we really need it.

Yes...please give us full control of the Captions location. Our client has strict guidelines on location, character length, and two lines of captions when possible. We need to be able to set some defaults for these things when we select the "Create Captions" button. Thanks!

Always give the professional user the option, they know what's best for their project. (Don't be Apple)

Yes, please take off the training wheels! I can’t think of another creative tool you offer that is so heavily restricted by your prescribed idea of what it should be used for. Please let is decide where captions should be and how many layers there are. We’re big kids, we can handle the responsibility.

I would at least like to have the caption background extend to the bottom and sides. The style of captions I sometimes need to use has a bottom screen section in plain colour with caption text over it. I realise that there are workarounds to get this, but simply removing the unnecessary restriction would make it easier.

Please remove this restriction. As others have stated, we all have different workflows and final content needs. Lots of clients want subtitles at the bottom of the screen. Additionally, the user should be able to decide what is "safe" and not have that restriction imposed on us. It would also be nice if the background "bar" went all the way across the screen, regardless of amount of text.

Please remove the safe margins in captions. There is a safe margin overlay. We can use that to check if needed.
Also better to have pixelposition rather than percentage.
Safe margin is getting a little old skool, once designed for the television tubes. Who does still use that?
In the Netherlands the broadcasters always require the bottom of all subtitles to be somewhere between safe title and safe action area.

Yes, an option to defeat the restriction would definitely be useful, as many clients are delivering content online where the safe margins don't always apply. I have one client who wants their captions to be along a grey bar at the bottom.
