Option to go back to old timeline label colors?

So apparently the new update has changed the label colors in the timeline, and I do not like them at all. It's supposed to be "easier to see" but it has the complete opposite effect for me. The colors are very dark and have a cheaper feel to them. I know that you can set your label colors to "classic" mode in the settings, which is supposed to be the old look, but it's not the same look at all.

I'm currently going to set premiere back to an older version, but I'd love to see a way to go back to the old colors.

The best way is by using a preset. I have a preset made of the legacy colors: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1J8nUVIbwKHVx_17GZZX7R9PA7JcYEn-y/view

How to use preset:

You have to go to the "Edit" tab, and the go to the "Preferences" subtab.

More subtabs should appear, and then you should click on the "Labels" subtab.

Then, press on the little folder icon at the bottom:

Lastly, copy and paste the preset into the folder window that pops up:

Hope this helped! 🙂

Thanks for the preset in regards to colors.

But my concern is that all of the light is inverted. It's extremely
disorienting, particularly with video fades and audio waveforms.

This is a sudden change from Adobe after two decades of it not being that
way. Will there not be an option to use Adobe's view settings from the
last 20 years? This seems insane. It's literally making my job impossible.

@Gabriel38005834cfgi - THANK YOU! A MILLION TIMES THANK YOU!

Thank you for providing the hex codes. After the 'Classic' colours also suddenly switched to the new poo-brown varients yesterday, I've been able to re-map them to the original colours using the codes you've supplied, and more importantly, I've saved them as a preset so that the next time Adobe twiddles the official presets and makes them worse, they won't be affecting my workflow. I honestly thought this issue was done and dusted, once I'd switched from Default to Classic. But no. They just couldn't leave it be.

Go to Settings > Labels and you can switch the color mode to "classic."

I agree the new colors are way to muted, and Yellow and Brown are basically the same. I don't think these new colors are helpful at all, and I hope Adobe modifies the colors soon. Not sure how this would affect color blind users.

I think we'd all like to change colors as quickly as you can in After Effects in Premiere, that's the label update we need, not the color palette.

@Gabriel38005834cfgi  oh the problem isn't having the old colors or not, cause I would often change them anyways. The real problem is the way the waveform is drawn now. I simply can't look at it 😞

Yeah... I just came back from vacation, and when I got back to work it was all different. I can select "Classic" label colors but the waveforms stay the same. My machine was kept on for a few days, so I suppose PP just casually updated itself without asking anyone. Now I'm sitting here while the waveform look gives me a headache 😞

There is no need to do this!  The original label colour groups ( there are 4) are still available under premier pro - settings-labels.

No response from Adobe, love it! This is SO annoying.

Actually, there have been several responses by staffers on several threads.

Including asking questions about what would make the new setup work better. Which will get implemented over time. I would expect there will be changes in the public beta version over the summer. At some point, some other changes and options will appear in the 'shipping' version.

I'd prefer such changes came with an opt-in, but oh well. After customizing the colors, the colors are mostly OK for me at the moment. I'm still not a fan of the bright "inverted" audio waveforms though.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
