2026 and Premiere's transcription is still terrible. 

 

Especially for non-American accents. I work mostly with Australian footage, and find myself having to correct the transcription all the time.

 

Most other transcription services are WAY better. 

 

Adobe should just integrate OpenAI's Whisper, or other transcription APIs into Premiere, because the current one SIMPLY ISN'T GOOD.

    if you are sustisfied with external subscription services (openAI, Google, elevenlabs..) transcriptions, I just launched an extension at aescripts (paid) that allows you to improt those in PPro for text-based editing:

    I'm trying to transcribe to English, not another language. 

     

    Nevertheless, I tried it, chose "English (UK)", but it didn't make it any better.

    Agreed, the transcription is terrible, I'm giving up on using this feature.
