Is it any chance for Speech-to-Text to get a Ukrainian language support in Premiere Pro? That is a huge time saver feature, but it isn't available on Ukrainian. All Ukrainian creators would be eternally grateful for our language support in this great software.

It is unfortunate that Ukrainian hasn't been added to the official Speech-to-Text list yet. To help everyone waiting, I’ve developed a tool (paid) that 'unlocks' Text-Based Editing for unsupported languages.

actually just released Version 1.1,  which adds support for Sonix.ai alongside ElevenLabs, Whisper, Google Chirp and AssemblyAi. You can generate highly accurate Ukrainian transcripts using those services and use my converter to make them fully compatible with Premiere’s internal transcript panel. Even if Adobe adds support later, this remains a great way to use 3rd party engines if they prove more accurate for Ukrainian language.

I have been shooting and editing videos for many years, and all these years I need to create automatic subtitles in Ukrainian. I used to create them manually, but recently such an opportunity became possible in the Davinci resolve. But I want to use premier pro because I work very closely in all subscription programs. And now I need to download the video separately to another program to create automatic subtitles in Ukrainian, save it in a yurt file and upload it to us in premier pro. it's very inconvenient. This has been a pressing issue for many years. So at least hint when you add this feature?

I want to know if there are plans to add Ukrainian language for subtitles in Premiere Pro?
I am a user of DaVinci Resolve, currently studying Premiere and was disappointed that I could not do such a simple thing as subtitles because until now, as long as this program exists, there is still no way to do it easily and quickly. However, in DaVinci it is available. I bought Creative Cloud with the hope that it would be "all inclusive" and now I would not have any problems and everything would be simple. And what was my disappointment ...

Hi @Vadym B.

It sounds like you want to put in a feature request for Ukrainian to be added to the list of languages supported by Speech-to-Text in Premiere Pro.  That would allow for transcribing clips with Ukrainain as the spoken language to be turned into subtitles.

If the language is supported, transcription and caption generation is as fast as your computer can process it.

Here's the current list of supported languages for reference:

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere/desktop/add-text-images/insert-captions/languages-supported-by-speech-to-text.html

Sorry that Ukrainian isn't already on this list.

If you generate an SRT file in Ukrainian outside of Premiere Pro, that can be imported and placed in a Captions Track.

I have already seen this topic raised here.

I work a lot on English and Ukrainian-language video content, for YouTube, TikTok or Instagram.

I'm delighted with how well the transcription works in English, it's quick and easy. It's also very easy to make corrections.

But in order to add Ukrainian subtitles and at the same time be able to conveniently make edits on the video, I have to upload the video to third-party sites, download the subtitle file from there

And edit all the text manually (since the site doesn't actually support such machinations)

So when are you guys going to add Ukrainian language?))

Hello Adobe Team!
We would love to see Ukrainian language added to the captions feature.
There are more than 40 million Ukrainian speakers, and it would be amazing to have the possibility to edit subtitles and text in our native language.
Thank you for considering this!

Dear Adobe Team,

I’m writing as a dedicated user of Adobe Premiere Pro and a creative professional based in Ukraine.

For the past several years, Ukrainian content creators have been working under extremely challenging conditions, producing videos that inform, educate, and inspire — often under time pressure. Many of us use Premiere Pro daily to subtitle and export videos in the Ukrainian language.

Unfortunately, Ukrainian is still not available as an option in the automated subtitle tools. As a result, we must enter subtitles manually, which is highly time-consuming.

Given the large number of Ukrainian users and the growing need for localization tools in our language, I kindly ask your team to consider adding Ukrainian to the list of supported subtitle/transcription languages in future updates.

This single addition would greatly improve workflow and accessibility for thousands of creators.

Thank you for your time, your tools, and your commitment to supporting global creative communities.

Warm regards,
A.

Dear Adobe Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

As a long-time user and admirer of Adobe products, I’m reaching out on behalf of many Ukrainian content creators, editors, and media professionals who rely on Premiere Pro to tell stories that matter — now more than ever.

For over three years, Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia’s full-scale invasion. In addition to military aggression, we face enormous psychological and informational warfare — a state-sponsored disinformation campaign designed to undermine truth and democratic values. Every day, Ukrainian creators counter these efforts with honest, powerful storytelling. Adobe Premiere Pro is at the heart of that effort.

However, there is one persistent issue that continues to limit our efficiency: Ukrainian language is still not available in the Premiere Pro subtitle tools. This means that for three years, every subtitle for Ukrainian-language videos must be added manually, consuming valuable time and resources in a time-critical, high-stakes environment.

We kindly ask: could Adobe please consider supporting Ukrainian in its automatic transcription and subtitle functionality?

It’s just one language, yet its inclusion could make a tremendous difference — not just for workflow, but for the global reach of truthful Ukrainian narratives. We believe in Adobe’s mission to empower creators and storytellers, and we sincerely hope that someone on your team will recognize the importance of this request.

Thank you for your attention and the incredible tools you provide. We remain hopeful for your support.

Warm regards,
A.

It was 2025, and the company will not support the Ukrainian language for subtitles, although the Russian language is supported (this is funny because Russia is destroying Ukraine, and the company will not remove Russian and does not add Ukrainian). This forces me to refuse to subscribe and switch to competitors.

Please, please, please - add the Ukrainian language to Adobe Premiere Pro. I see people have been asking for the last two years. Especially with the current war, it really makes a different and helps to amplify Ukrainian voices and stories. .

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
