Bridge updates forcing Windows 11

Creative Cloud tells me there is an update to Bridge - V16.0.5

Great except it is not compatible with Windows 10

This is effectively forcing users to ‘upgrade’ to Windows 11 despite Microsoft extending support for Windows 10 for another year.

Trying ‘customer support’ is a waste of time - 3 rounds of chatbot followed by someone copying and pasting platitudes of a script whilst simultaneously ignoring your request is not ‘support’

Can support for Windows 10 please be extended until at least Microsoft stop supporting it?

Again, the is the Aero forum.

It was a mobile app which did use Windows or Bridge, so this thread is now locked.

I entirely agree - being forced to abandon an operating system just so you can make your interface prettier is not in my opinion a great look.

In many regions, including the EU, Windows 10 is still widely used and officially supported for critical enterprise and consumer environments. Dropping support feels prematurely restrictive for a file management tool like Bridge.

From a technical standpoint, maintaining compatibility shouldn't require an overhaul. Adobe could easily query the OS version to gracefully disable specific Windows 11-exclusive APIs while keeping the core application fully functional for Windows 10 users. Most of us rely on Bridge for its foundational file organization, metadata editing, and batch processing capabilities—none of which fundamentally depend on Windows 11 architecture.

I encourage the product team to reconsider this strict OS block and offer a fallback compatibility mode for Windows 10 users so we aren't forced to stick with outdated, unpatched versions of Bridge.

Is anyone else in the community facing this issue or forced to freeze their updates because of this?

I’ve just come off the phone from Tech Support.

You don’t need to update if you don’t want to, the existing and indeed several of the earlier releases remain active and available and in fairness to adobe they are good at this.

You only need to update if you want some of the new features but in the mean time everything you currently have will remain working. It is really a question of whether or not you want / need any new bits.
