OS: Windows 11LrC VERSION: 14.5A couple of days ago I upgrade to v14.5.As for every update, I regurlay empty cache, optimise catalog, remove all previews and generate new standard ones (also, I wanted to test how was was the new option to use GPU for generating previews).Never had a problem with this workflow. After previews generation process was completed (1h 30m for 29.000 files, 23.000 jpegs and 6.000 raws) I got an error: for 21 RAWs the preview could not be generated. Looking in the catalog at those files, I realised they have an exclamation mark on a dark circle: this is not the missing photo mark. If I click on the exclamation mark, I see error "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo, you are not allowed to edit this image. " Yet, I can still enter develop module and edit the photos without any problem: the editing history is there, I can zoom in at 100% (generating the 1:1 preview), I can change sliders, export... Everything... (PS: I do not use smart previe
I have a Mac but my operating system (Ventura 13.7.8) is no longer supported and I am unable to upgrade Lightroom. However, export to PS has always worked up until now. LR version is 14.5.2
I posted this question two years ago and didn’t get a useful response - reposting it here as the topic has now been closed for replies. two years later - with the help of ChatGPT - I finally worked out what was going on …..the root cause: ~/Documents was a dangling immutable symlink left behind by Dropbox Mac Backup after migration to a new Mac. Lightroom Classic failed during startup because it could not create/access the standard Documents directory (AgPathUtils.getStandardFilePath: can't create directory at /Users/eugenieshinkle/Documents).the solution: Removed the immutable flag from the symlink (chflags -h nouchg), removed the dangling symlink, allowing macOS to recreate a normal ~/Documents directory. Lightroom then launched normally and continued to function correctly across restarts.I’d love to know if anyone has seen this before
# Environment- Mac: MacBook Pro 14" 2026, M5 Pro (18-core) (identifier: Mac17,9)- RAM: 64 GB- macOS: 26.5.1 (build 25F80)- Lightroom Classic: 15.4.1 (latest)- Power: AC connected, High Power Mode enabled (powermode 2)- Catalog: freshly created; source files and export destination both on internal SSD- Previous machine for comparison: MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) # SymptomDuring export, total CPU utilization plateaus around 50% and exports are much slowerthan expected. Using powermetrics, I confirmed that while exporting, the P-cores(P0 cluster) are ~100% active but locked at roughly 2.4 GHz (2304-2652 MHz),never boosting above 3 GHz. The P1 cluster stays mostly idle.Measured comparison against M1 Pro (same photos, same export settings):- Export: 92 s on M1 Pro -> 70 s on M5 Pro (only ~24% faster)- AI Denoise: 9.5 s on M1 Pro -> 4.5 s on M5 Pro (~2.1x faster)GPU/Neural Engine-bound tasks like Denoise scale as expected with the new chip, while the CPU-bound export barely improves. Also, on
Windows 11Lightroom 15.4.1I have recently enabled ‘Automatically write changes into sidecar files (XMP/ACR)” - mainly as a safety net in leu of other issues, but that is not relevant here.It took a while for LR to complete the saving of all metadata files - probably 12 hours (259K files in the catalog).I just loaded LR, edited one image in PS and saved. It appeared in LR and then I clicked CLOSE on LR. It warned me that Metadata processing was still busy. I checked the status and 843 files are being processed. The folder I have open only has 744 images.I used Resource Monitor to check what files lightroom.exe was accessing - and it is lots of MP4/MOV/AVI files ... in folders unrelated to the folder I was viewing at the time.I have repeated this and seem similar activity each time. It’s not a problem - but i wonder why it needs to scan video files at all? and why it does this regardless of the images I am working on.
Parfois on a "métadonnées".

Please add a keyboard shortcut to update/refresh the masks when underlying changes are made, such as adding a Spot Removal.

Lightroom needs to stop re-ordering our keywords into an alphabetical order. People who are keywording for stock agencies and other purposes need to order their keywords most important and relevant first. Lightroom ruins this for us. I can't believe it's version 5 and Lightroom hasn't figured this out. Lightroom is single-handedly ruining our sales based on keyword searches. Thanks Adobe
It is very frustrating and even more so then when uploading to AdobeStock that my photos get denied because the keywords are sorted alphabetically. Yes I know! Your own software did that!
Merci
There is a scaling bug in the Profile Browser in the Develop Module. The star icons used to favorite profiles are ONLY visible when the Font Size (in Preferences) is set to 150%. If the Font Size is set to 'Medium' or 'Small', the right-hand panel cannot be dragged out or expanded far enough to reveal the star icons, causing them to be cut off. When syncing an AI Spot Replacement edit across multiple photos of the same scene, the tool currently applies the edit based on static pixel coordinates. Please implement a function that recognizes the actual object removed in the source photo and dynamically targets that same object in the synced photos, rather than just copying the spatial coordinates
System info:Lightroom Classic 15.4.1 macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 (also tested on 26.5.1) Apple M1 Max, internal SSD Catalog was recently migrated during a Lightroom update (Catalog-v13 to Catalog-v13-3)The problem:After a recent Lightroom update triggered a catalog migration, the app now hangs indefinitely on the "Reading Preferences" splash screen every time I launch it. This happens 100% of the time in my main user account, on every attempt. What I've already ruled out:Deleted a leftover .lock file next to the catalog Fully reset Lightroom preferences (Shift+Option launch) Manually deleted com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC7.plist Removed all third party plugins from the Modules folder Fully wiped the entire ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ folder (not just the Lightroom subfolder) Deleted all Adobe related entries from Keychain Access (Adobe Lightroom, Adobe.APS, Adobe Lightroom CC, Creative Cloud entries) Disabled and quit a third party malware scanner (CleanMyMac) that had background real tim
tried different folders, always same result. Lots of space available on the drive.A technician did manage to resolve it 18 months ago but the fix only lasted a week.I think its something to do with Google drive as it used to try and back up to it.I also continually get this:When I export photos any AI based edits I’ve made frequently do not export so I have to do them again in the hope it works. Thak you for any help
I’m on a MacBook Pro M5, system Tahoe 26.1 I just moved the LR catalog to an external drive. The picture files were duplicated onto the same external drive. When I open the catalog, it can’t find any pictures, so I show it where the local picture files are. The pictures all show up, but the stacks are expanded and I the stacking submenu is greyed out.

I got this error after upgrade to LrC 15.0. Update 15.0.1 not fix this issue. "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to this photo." My photos file are OK, restart LrC will able to edit again, but it will happen again sometimes after I sync the photo setting form one photo to another one. OS is macOS 15.7.2.
I can’t import anything into Lightroom classic on version 15.4.1. On import the import box is not showing any photos at all. These are not duplicates photos. When I go to import I select a source and then I choose the folder nothing shows.I have tried restating Lightroom and my computer, trying different drives, nothing works. Lightroom isn’t seeing any images on my computer/ drives.
I am wanting to edit some images in a particular folder in Lightroom. When looking at the folder in File Explorer there are almost 100 image files in the particular folder. However, Lightroom only sees 22 files. I've selected the folder and tried both IMPORT and SYNCHRONIZE however nothing happens. How do I fix this?

Even a very small brush stroke (for example removing a tiny newborn skin blemish) can take over 4 minutes to complete. The standard Remove tool works normally.Troubleshooting completedI have tested all of the following:New Lightroom catalogue. Existing catalogue. Catalogue stored on internal SSD. RAW files stored on external HDD. Camera Raw cache purged. Catalogue optimised. GPU enabled. GPU disabled. Lightroom restarted. Mac restarted. Different images.None of these resolved the issue.I also compared the exact same RAW file and edit on an Apple Silicon MacBook running the same Adobe account. Generative Remove completed much faster on the MacBook. Most important findingI installed Lightroom Classic 15.3.1 and repeated the same Generative Remove test on the same Intel iMac.Generative Remove is si
