LrC version 11.3 includes a new feature to simplify the procedure to reset the Lightroom Preferences and this is great since Lightroom somehow tends to "corrupt" the preferences file which causes some strange issues. This process sets the Preferences file to the default settings so the user has to reselect any specific choices and it is a bit of a "pita" to address. One of the things that is reset to the default is where your backups of the Catalog file are saved. This has to be reset the next time you exit the application and create a backup file it cannot be done when you make selections in the LrC "Preferences". Provide an option to retain the user settings in the Preferences and Catalog settings.    

The new brush menu in Adobe Lightroom is extremely frustrating to be used. It's now taking us longer in order to access them in comparison to before when it's already laid out in the main tools. Now we have to do multiple steps in order to access functions such as "skin smooth or teeth whitening". I much more prefer the drop-down menu system from before. It's also frustrating to select the areas where we painted. Before it's laid out all at once and we can simply choose the ones we want now it's being laid out in layers which can be confusing to make our selection. This can be challenging since we have thousands of photos to edit. Adobe, please do us a favor and return the old menu system thank you.

Lightroom 11.2 on MacOS Catalina 10.15.7.   In the Library module, next to the File Name field is a hamburger menu for automated renaming. It lets you save your own presets. However, it doesn't have ways to update or delete a preset. It is inconvenient and nonobvious to have to find the .lrtemplate file in ~/Library through the operating system so you can delete it or delete and re-save it.  

Currently Lightroom remembers the last two zoom states that can be toggled between with the space bar or mouse clicks. This allows one to set up a Fit view and one Zoom view that can be quickly called from keaybard or a midi controller. Problem... If I am zooming around a photo I now need to use the mouse to pick on the little Fit/Fill tab in the Navigator to return to FIT.  As I, like many others, use a midi input device to control much of LR it would be great to have a keyboard shortcut available that returns us directly to FIT no matter how much zooming around one has done. This would allow someone using a midi controller to zoom in several levels and then hit one key to return to FIT.  A sort of Go Home button.. This would aid power users I am sure.

I like working with the lights dimmed using "L" but when I select another photo and press sync it takes me out of the dimming. Can you please put an option to lock it in dimmed mode?

Currently, when using Publishing Services in Lightroom Classic, there is no way to tell which Publishing Service contains unpublished images. For example, I have many collections within the Flickr publish service. If I want to make sure they are all up to date, I need to click on each one in the left column of the Library module and, then, look at the grid to see if there are new photos or modified photos to be published.It would be better if Lightroom Classic could  automatically show me which collections need to be updated. This could be accomplished by the software adding some kind of indicator graphic or a color label (red, maybe) to the collections containing unpublished photos.This way I can quickly see which ones need updating.

Photoshop has a neat option for Curves layer when you hold [ALT OPT] (in Mac) and click AUTO button, to correct individual curves automatically for colour correction. This is VERY handy tool and desperately needed in Lightroom Classic.

Title basically. it sucks working fullscreen and have two  giant spaces between my navigator and my development settings at the sides of my image. I cant find the setting to move the filmstrip as a window around.

I'm automating the import of my photos to Lightroom using Auto Import (e.g. `Choose File > Auto Import > Enable Auto Import`).   However, the settings dialog for Auto Import doesn't provide any way organize images during this process.   During Auto Import, I'd like to either: 1.) specify an import preset to be used, or 2.) have a setting to auto-organize into directories (e.g. `YYYY/YYYY-MM-DD`).   Without at least one of these, auto-import isn't useful for me unfortunately.

The Lightroom Classic GPU FAQ needs to be updated to include Select Subject and Select Sky as one of the ways that LR uses the GPU: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html   It should also mention the error message that occurs when a user has a very old graphics driver on Windows and tries to do Select Subject and Select Sky.

I would like to suggest a mask feature that is related to the motion blur filter in photoshop. Many photographers need to blur faces or create a sense of movement on images where it was not practical to use a slow shutter spead.  It would be ideal if there was a blur option in masking...I imagine it would be mostly used with a brush to just place the blur on specific areas (faces, full body images of people walking, riding bikes, etc.)  Many Thanks for your consideration.   [Moved to ideas by moderator]

It would be time saving if the photos for each tutorial module could be downloaded as a group instead of individually as you do the module. This suggestion is for both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop and I use both a Mac and Windows computer.

An easy improvement for Lightroom 'Import' feature would be if it remembered images you had already imported and 'deleted from disc'.    Currently your rejected images from pervious imports are detected as 'new images' when you put the memory card back in.   It would be a simple matter to keep the exif data from deleted photos (e.g. file size, camera, lens, date and time taken) in an 'already rejected' table in the database, then when they come up again on a memory card, Lightroom knows this file WAS imported but 'deleted from disc'. 

As a photographer editing events, Voice Commands would be a dream to have in lightroom. It would make the process go so much faster.  To be able to say Increase Exposure .5 or Lower Temp100 degrees and Tint plus 4, next (to go to next photo), reject mage.  To be able to control all the sliders, labels etc in Lightroom with Voice Command would help to fly through editing images.  I am sure it is very easy to add since voice dictation is everywhere now.  

It is very tedious to inspect photos one at a time in Loupe View to see if all people in a photo were identified using the People button (O). I am finding that necessary because an alarming number of photos with people were not detected using this process.

LrDevelopController.getValue (key) returns nil for all the crop settings (CropLeft, CropRight, CropTop, CropBottom) immediately after a user clicks Select Subject or Sky.  To reproduce:   1. Save the following script in the Scripts folder.   2. Run the script, which starts a background task calling LrDevelopController.getValue().   3. Edit a photo in Develop, open the Masking tool, and click Select Sky.   4. MacOS Big Sur.   When I print from Lightroom Classic to roll paper (on an Epson SC-P7500), I know how wide I want the print to be (usually 610mm). I have to estimate the height, then choose a "paper size" to match that height. I have a large number of defined paper sizes and presets so I can usually pick the right one, but it's a tedious chore.   In QImage One for Mac, I can select a box marked "auto roll length", and QImage will handle that chore, presumably by calculating the height and communicating it to the Epson driver.   It would be awfully nice to have a similar check box, with similar functionality, in Lightroom.

Having the ability to increase the size of the slider handles would be very helpful.  I've always found them just a bit too small when trying to click on them.   Also, more font size options would be good.  On my 1440p screen, 'medium' is too small, but 'large' is too big.  If we could specify a percentage, that would be very useful.

  Re: Lightroom Classic Develope Presets, Update with Current Settings, no matter which "USER" preset I click I get the same checked boxes, by default Lightroom should show the settings that were originally saved with each preset, Interestingly when I use Adobe Camera Raw my lightroom presets are there and the checked boxes are all correct!! I submit images and videos to Adobe Stock and the keyword ranking there is important. The most significant keywords that apply to the image have to go first. With Lightroom you can copy the keyword and the paste at the beginning. This is a very slow process. You have the commas in the way, the panel is small, etc.   There is a software (Stock submitter) specialized for sending content to many agencies and it has solved this with a clever trick. Every keyword or multiple keywords if they are separated with commas are transformed into blocks. You can quickly drag any block into the position you want. No need to care about commas, pasting in the wrong spot etc. It is 100x times faster as it is implemented in Lightroom now. hope to see it one day in LR

I'm in LR6 trying to import images from a subfolder at the bottom of a folder tree.  I'm able to get a vertical scrollbar that allows me to get to the level in the "main import source panel" where that subfolder is.  How do I get a horizontal scrollbar, to get to the subfolder?

Hello,   I've been working recently in both Adobe Lightroom along with Camera Bit's Photo Mechanic Plus. Working in PhotoMechanic has shown me a few places that Lightroom is really lagging behind and could use a push to catch up!   One weakness I'd like to see addressed is the customization of the "Expanded Cells" in Grid View. My chief complaint is that Expanded Cells are not very spatially optimized. While in Compact Cells the two metadata extras you chose to include show up tight against the image. When you switch to Compact Cells all the metadata moves outside of a massive buffer space, which means that despite doubling the size allocated to each image you barely have any additional space for metadata... if we're going to Expand the Cells lets get some space for more metadata! Issue We need a rapid way to find images that have AI mask errors. These errors happen when copying/pasting or synchronizing an AI mask across multiple images.  The error is hidden and must be discovered by opening each image, opening masks, and looking through the list of applied masks, and selecting an AI mask to see the error. There is no current way I can find to locate images with errors.   Proposed solution Add a "Masks with error" filter to the filters in the Library module. Add an overlay icon or text panel indicator to photos with mask error conditions.
