Lightroom Classic

In Lightroom's grid module, the thumbnails never fit exactly: either the top or bottom row extends a bit beyond the view-port so I can't see the entire thumbnail in that row. There needs to be an option to automatically size the thumbnails to fit. This way, I can click the page-down key on my keyboard to move through the thumbnails a page/view-port at a time and always see complete thumbnails. The resizing would be based on the currently selected thumbnail size (using the slider) and the current size of the view-port .The view-port size is always smaller when all of Lightroom's panels (side, top and bottom) are expanded and larger if some of them are collapsed or if the filter bar or toolbar are hidden. The thumbnails would then be resized SLIGHTLY (either by enlarging them or shrinking them a bit) to fit the view-port size. In the above image, the bottom row of thumbnails is partly hidden. V9.1 and more so with V9.2 introduced a huge number of bugs. Fortunately none of them seem to corrupt images or result in incorrect editing but they are sure a pain to deal with. Just read the threads on this forum over the past couple of months. (Sure some are user error but not many.)  So I'd like Adobe to deliver a V9.3 that has NO enhancements, just address bugs.  Sure there are feature enhancements that I'd like but leave them for V10 please. 

Is there any chance at all of having LR3 provide lens and camera profiles for the Olympus E3 digital SLR ?

LR3 needs to incorporate in the crop overlay grid lines the ability to change color and width of the lines.

When can we expect to see lightroom mobile able to handle sync'ing multiple catalogs? As it is with the limitation to a single catalog it is very limited in a real business case scenario...

The Library module in Lightroom doesn't perform all that well in several ways. I used to think this was because of my ancient hardware, but now that I have brand new very fast hardware, it's still slow: The thumbs are rendered in the import window very quickly, and some metadata is collected as well. This should be virtually instantly transferred to the main Library module once you hit import so the thumbs pop up right away and the rest of the import proceeds in the background. No matter what rendering options you select in import, the thumbs should be fully rendered up to at least the default (middle) size and should be able to be recalled very quickly from the thumbs cache. Right now, it's often necessary to page through the thumbs and wait for rendering and for the three-dots to go away on each and every thumb. Even if standard or 1:1 preview rendering is complete, grid searches aren't very fast and thumbs don't come up very fast unless the catalog is on an SSD. This indicates to me

As of 3.5 a change was made in the export to always strip out terms that are not checked "Include on Export". Previous to the 3.5 release this option only affected non-hierarchical keywords and when you requested to export Lightroom hierarchies they were always exported intact.Making this change makes sense since it makes the behavior with regular and hierarchical keywords consistent. However, if you do as I do and turn off "Include on Export" to create private keywords and to add organizational levels this change causes problems any time you attempt to use export to batch process images that you want to import back into your catalog. It creates a bunch of brand new duplicate keywords. It is just as bad as not having any keyword hierarchy at all. My specific problem is that this change has completely broken keyword processing when I use HDR Efex Pro. This happens to me about once a week when editing in Lightroom... I go to edit in Photoshop while accidentally selecting multiple photos. This causes Photoshop to then dutifully open every selected photo one by one which inevitably crashes my computer, sends my blood pressure to dangerous levels, and ruins my workflow. I know... I should be more careful, but having a warning such as "You are attempting to edit 1128 photos in Adobe Photoshop. Do you wish to continue?" when opening large numbers of photos (say 10 or more) would be incredibly useful for preventing this human error. Or a way to stop it once started... Thanks!

Some users are reluctant to rely on custom metadata, since its not stored in XMP.This FR/Idea is to store custom metadata in XMP, or at least let there be an option to do so, even if not on by default.

The latest Classic is having issues with working across two monitors. My system actually has three screens but the second and third are mirrored. I setup LR Preferences and it showed two screens and I selected the second screen as the secondary window.However every time I boot LR it shows the secondary window only and on my main screen!I have to double click the LR desktop shortcut to force it to sort itself out. Checking the preference display tab the selected secondary screen has switch to my primary screen!PS is fine with this setup by the way.

Hi, when letting Lightroom write all the picture settings to a xmp file, both the stacking and the collection settings are missing. Basically, I'd expect to find just every work done about the picture in the xmp file (e.g. for use with other tools. If I put several pictures in collection, I'd like to use that information and the order of the pictures from other programs.) Even worse, when making a virtual copy of a picture, it's settings do not appear anywhere in an xmp file. regards

recommendation: update Lightroom classic cc to support per monitor scaling across monitors with different scaling factors. The was provided as a new feature in the January 2018 update to Photoshop cc. Please provide this capability for Lightroom classic cc also. The update to Photoshop works very well for me with an extended display using a 4k laptop monitor and an HDMI external monitor. I am hoping that a similar update is already planned for Lightroom classic cc.

I use the adjustment brush a fair bit....... I know we can change the colour of the adjustment brush area applied - but depending on the images sometimes it's hard to see those grey pins - particularly against b&w images and if you've got a lot of adjustments applied - sometimes you spend ages trying to find where I placed the actual pin. If we had the option to change them to a bright... red, pink, yellow etc - that would be really helpful. I can't be the only one..... who sometimes wonders where they've put there pin? Thanks P.s Also when I'm syncing or using the previous button occasionally I miss the odd pin in a random place, I forget to delete it...... and then realise I've been applying it to the last odd 30 photos or so!

If the Export setting Remove Person Info is selected, a keyword with the Person attribute will be exported if it isn't associated with a face rectangle.  To reproduce:1. Create a keyword John.2. Edit the keyword and check the Person attribute.3. Assign the keyword to a photo.4. Export the photo to disk with Include: All Metadata and Remove Person Info selected.5. The idea is to eliminate mode-dependent keystrokes and menus; make the library filter available whilst developing; be able to select the next photo for development from a folder or a thumbnail grid, instead of a one-line filmstrip or a collection; make the before-after comparison available while reviewing in the "library"; have the clipping indicators be available for quick-develop; be able to view photo-info/metadata in mid-develop; be able to do relative adjustments (quick develop) or absolute while developing; ...etc...; and last but certainly not least: eliminate mode-switching/re-rendering lag. Would it be possible in lightroom 4 beta to rotate video files as we can images?

My number one feature request would be a real plugin architecture for Lightroom. It's just kind of nuts that to use any sort of plugin or external application, I have to create a separate TIFF file. The TIFF files break workflow by losing all the history of adjustments applied to the RAW before creating the TIFF, they're a pain to manage, and they take up a large amount of space on disk.Perhaps Lightroom could let plugins create mask overlays or something like that, which would integrate with the develop history. But anything that would avoid the necessity of creating a TIFF file would be welcome.

If you have more than 3 monitors, there is no way to assign the "second monitor" in Lightroom 3.5.

I do not understand why Adobe would have fields on the mobile or CC version that do not sync to desktop Classic version. Can someone please explain? I understand not pushing everything from Classic desktop to mobile/cloud version as it is too much. But FROM mobile/cloud to desktop is a must if this is truly supposed to be a portable product. Is Adobe branching into two completely different products? I can think of no other reason to program them to not sync properly from the beginning. Entered lots of location data on CC and from what I can see, it does not sync and Adobe has no plans to ever sync that metadata even though those fields already exist in Classic version. Would someone please explain WHY?

Hi, i would like to ask for better support of Wacom Intuos4 tablets - erasing with the second (erasing) side of the Wacom pen is still not possible in Develop modul.

If Lightroom allowed the user to specify that a smart collection stay selected, then smart collections could be used to define persistent global pre-filters, and if a password was required to deselect, then they could also be used to implement password protected discretionary viewing (e.g. privacy).

Please allow the "Import" side panels to be width-resizeable (like the side panels in Library and Develop modes).User-defineable wider panels are useful for reading long folder names. Holding down ALT (Mac) while click-dragging the width works with the other side-panels, but not when importing.Lightroom 5.7.1. on Mac OSX.
