Lightroom Classic

Image taken on web for exemple.Heavy banding issues with LED lighting and stage photography (concerts, dance...)High sensor read-out speed can help but not every time, except with global sensors (only Sony has one with a9 III)So, AI features would be a great option and solution for many, many photographers of stage, concerts, dance, event...

Love the new feature for AI distractions of people and reflections.. Lets expand on that!!   As a wedding photographer I am constantly removing power lines, stop signs, or just signs in general, exit lights.. It would HUGE if these were added as additional AI options for distraction removal. Feels like it would be a fairly easy addition.    Posted a screenshot as an example.. AI generative fill defintely takes care of it no problem but would save time if we didn't need to manually select it.

Culling thousands of images is very time consuming in wildlife photography.  I am requesting three tools to easier determine sharpness. 1) this one is obvious, show the focus point in Adobe Lightroom. Often I want to prioritize a small section of the image such as a bird’s eye or face, if the focus point is not there, it is easy to reject.  2) Lightroom could easily train an AI model to check edge complexity within a specified area and tell me which is the sharpest between two or more images. Ideally, I could specify a different area for each image, but I could just crop them if need be. 3) I could follow up with an adjustable edge detection tool for two images, side by side, so I can see which has the strongest edges. As an aside, I have vitrious separation causing annoying floaters, making it very difficult for me to compere details in two images, but I can assure you that every wildlife photographer would love this. It would also be applicable to almost any genre of photography if I

In the Export dialog, provide the option to add a border. Nothing fancy - any colour so long as it's black - and give control over its width in pixels. And of course, make sure too that it is added after any sharpening. People simply shouldn't need to rely on plug-ins for this, not after 3 versions of the program. John

Please can we have an option to add a stroke border in the Lightroom Classic develop panel . It is time consuming to have to either go to print module or move the image to Photoshop to add it .

I know that you can select different aspects by keyboard arrow so it seems odd not to be able to open the drop down

Is it possible to add comments to an album or collection as a whole, rather than just to individual photos? The "Comments" area says "Comments not supported here."   I'm deciding whether to switch from iPhoto to LR 6. An important part of my photo organization schema is the comments I add to albums; for example, the weather at the time the photos were taken, or whether my identification of a species has been approved. I'm not sure if this is a dealbreaker or not, but it's pretty darn close if I can't figure out a work-around.

Please add the “manual” remove setting to the camera presets you can save for specific cameras. like the sample below. No, in-camera pixel mapping does not fix this issue.  I have a couple of cameras with several of these black spots due to a sensor defect that I could just fix by using the remove tool (without generative AI) when importing. For some reason it is the only feature you have not added from the copy/parte settings to the camera presets settings. Just adding this feature would cut my workflow considerably since I would not have to hunt for those spots anymore.Thanks!D.

I use masks to blur parts of my images, and in 99% of cases I use them inverted. Older version memorized this and the new version does not memorise the fact I used inverted mask just seconds ago, so for every new mask I have to additionally click on invert checkbox, which together with the fact I have to use masks now and create new ones with additional clicks, slows down my workflow.  Please include Invert option to be remembered by Lightroom mask from the previous usage of the mask.

I've installed new Lightroom version 11.0.   When I draw a radial gradiant, the red overlay is now on the inside of the gradient every single time. In previous versions of Lightroom, by default the changes made to the radial gradient were on the outside, or at least, Lightroom would remember the last radial gradient you drew and the next one you would draw would be either inverted or not depending on the previous one you drew. Lightroom no longer remembers the last gradient you drew. I mostly make changes to the outside of the radial gradient, so now every time I draw one I have to invert it. Or is there a way to make it behave like it did before?   Another irritation is the red tool overlays are now always on when you draw them. In previous versions, the tools would remember if you had the overlay turned on the last time you used it. Or you could hover your mouse over the pin to display the overlay. Is there a way to make this behave like it did in the past so that it doesn'

AI sky masks often must be feathered entirely within the sky, without bleeding into the background below.  With the current Feather/Edge sliders, Feather can go to 100, but Edge can only go to -50.  Therefore, the practical maximum is Feather 50 and Edge -50, so that the feather remains within the sky.  The Edge slider should go to -100, so that the full feather can be applied within the sky.

"Custom Name" or "Edit": Please populate with current name. Allow direct editing. e.g. current name “Alaska_1034.nef”  “Show Alaska_1034.nef” and let me delete “Alaska_” or change it to “Yukon_”And: include button <Copy File to New Name [same folder]> which leaves old file with old name untouched

I often work on a single image and then on export find I am exporting dozens - if the currently selected image could be made way more obvious on the film strip that would be day-to-day useful

Adobe has gone all in with AI in Lightroom.  This make a lot of sense.  However, Adobe has been sloppy in keeping clear delineation between what counts as an AI modification and has made it near impossible to confidently and quickly identify files with AI modifications.    For example: Lightroom currently identifies NON AI Heal as an AI update, making it impossible to separate files with Heal vs Generative Remove.    Another example; Lightroom provides a filter “Has AI”, except it traps everything that remotely appears to be touched by AI.  AI Masks are an example.  Yes the Mask is generated by AI, but this in no way changes the  pixels,  and is not an AI change to the image.    Please cleanup your AI filtering and identification logic so it is clear and discoverable which images have AI tools used verses which images have AI edits.

The new facial recognition in Lightroom 6/CC is well done (if sometimes amusingly quirky). One change I'd like to suggest is allowing the Named People thumbnail photo to be chosen from the list of confirmed thumbnails. Lr sometimes picks an unflattering image or one of very low quality. When I see a list of faces in the Named People list I want to see nice looking mugshots. We don't all shoot fashion models!

It is 2026 and Smart Previews for Lightroom still have the same resolution of 2560px on the long side. So they’ve stayed the same since the introduction of Lightroom 5 in 2013.I’d argue it's time to increase the resolution to at least 4K. Our monitors got bigger and our hard drives and bandwidth did too.I know it would add some trouble for Adobe as the smart Previews are also used to sync between devices and on the cloud, but those of us who use them in a laptop workflow should at least have an option to choose a higher resolution for offline usage. What do you guys think?

Here is a nesting “App” I created with Claude AI: (Replace .txt with .html)   <!DOCTYPE html><html lang="en"><head><meta charset="UTF-8"><meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"><title>Fine-Art Print Nesting Planner</title><style>@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=DM+Mono:wght@400;500&family=DM+Sans:wght@300;400;500;600&display=swap');:root {  --ink:#1a1a18;--paper:#f7f5f0;--warm:#fdfcf8;--border:#ddd9d0;  --accent:#2c5f2e;--accent-light:#e8f0e8;--accent-mid:#4a8c4d;  --warn:#8b4513;--warn-light:#fdf3e8;--danger:#991b1b;--danger-light:#fee2e2;  --muted:#888880;--mono:'DM Mono',monospace;--sans:'DM Sans',sans-serif;}*{box-sizing:border-box;margin:0;padding:0;}body{font-family:var(--sans);background:var(--paper);color:var(--ink);min-height:100vh;font-size:13px;line-height:1.5;}.header{background:var(--ink);color:var(--paper);padding:1.25rem 2rem;display:flex;align-items:baseline;gap:1r

Feature Request: Optimize Lightroom Classic Backup Compression for AI DataI am a professional photographer in Brazil, and I would like to report a significant inefficiency in Lightroom Classic's catalog backup process. After experiencing extremely slow backups, I conducted a controlled performance test to identify the bottleneck.Test environment Software: Adobe Lightroom Classic 15.6 Operating system: Windows 11 RAM: 32 GB Primary storage: Kingston NV3 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD Main catalog (.lrcat): Approximately 307 MB AI data directory (.lrcat-data): 55.6 GB Final backup ZIP: 54.5 GB Measured backup performanceUsing a stopwatch, I recorded each stage of the built-in backup: Initial preparation: 2 minutes 16 seconds Additional processing: 2 minutes 42 seconds Catalog optimization: 2 minutes 44 seconds ZIP compression: 25 minutes 54 seconds Total backup time: 33 minutes 40 seconds Compression alone accounted for approximately 77% of the entire backup operation.During c

Ich vermisse in Lightroom für die Vorher-Nachher-Ansicht wirklich sehr die Möglichkeit, das Bild mit einem Slider (wie bei Capture One oder Luminar) ansehen zu können.
