Ok, I've got an online IP forum which also sells forum based workshops. We are now including video in our online workshops and would like to find a solution to embed the videos in those areas to the forum where the user has paid for access.We would also like to display 'how to' type videos where anyone can see in forum posts.We would like it to have the option to expand into full screen.None of these videos are 'live' so they are all prerecorded. I'm also thinking that it would be nice to 'host' the videos elsewhere if possible as they likely take up alot of space. We have machighway hosting which isn't a huge amount of space and they state that they don't allow 'quicktime streaming' which makes me wonder if they will block us from any other type of streaming.I was directed to adobes server products but I am completely lost at what I would need or what they are even. I'd like a really simple plug/play solution in a perfect world but the more I look around the less likely this seems pos

I,m a newbie and one of my requirements is to Start the Record of the Stream as soon as the Game Starts. The Game gets the ID from JAVA and our client wants the stream record from JAVA.Is it possible to Call Stream.record() from JAVA?Similarly JAVA chould be Able to Stop the Record after the game Finishes.Any help on this is appreciated.Srini

The first event I streamed tonight worked fine for an hour or so then it stopped being accessible from the web . I had no problem viewing the stream on mobile devices though. I have Flash Streaming Media Server and am having problems setting up a Virtual Host.I've done the following:created a folder /fmsRoot/conf/_defaultRoot_/stream.example.comcopied in Application.xml and Vhost.xml from _defaultVhost_specified a new apps directory here: /home/stream.example.com/fms_app/ then added <AppsDir>/home/stream.example.com/fms_app/</AppsDir> to the Vhost.xml fileRestarted FMS serverI then log in to the stream.example.com server and can connect fine.However when I try and create an instance, it appears to connect, then disappears.Any help is much appreciated.Cheers,Paul

Hello Ladies and GentlemenI am doing some experiments and learning some stuff for FMS, I have installedFMS trial version of FMS 4 on a" Linux Redhat Apache" serverbut as you know the default installation  from the root of the server is:/opt/adobe/fmsso instead of installing on http://www.webspace//opt/adobe/fmsit installs from the base server path below the webspace....but that leaves me confused because if it outside the webspace...how then is anadministrator supposed to see the admin control panel...?as guys/girls are experienced and experts can anyone advise where would the fms_adminConsole.htm be....because I do not see anything under my http//www.mydomain/fms_adminConsole.htm or http://ipaddress/fms_adminConsole.htmalso I tried to connect to vod with like: rtmp://ipaddress/vod/instance ...and I see nothing...any ideas...am I doing something wrong in the installation...when i install FMS...is there a way I should have changed the install directory so it installs inside my webs

My channel's offical page is http://live.samaa.tv we are running our channel live streaming over web from two years and we have alot of viewers but now a days some other web developers using our streaming webpage on there website using iframe thats why our lots of new viewers is divert to there website.Question is that, allowedHTMLdomains and allowedSWFdomains text files can controll the iframe autentaction if I set only my domain in these text file???If yes thats good for us but if not what is the solution for this situtation, i don't want to run my page or streaming on other wesite using iframe.

I want to create an application to switch streams and republish them as single continious stream to the remote server.In first step I tested "livestreams code" from the "Example of Multipoint publishing" on p. 184 of the "ADOBE®FLASHMEDIA SERVER 4.5® Developer’s Guide" where ns.publish method is used. It was successful.I try stream.play method now.I had written main.asc code like in the Stream.play() example on p. 162 of the "Server-Side ACTIONSCRIPT® Language Reference for ADOBE® FLASH® MEDIASERVER 4.5", but I have some problem  in spite of this.I try to broadcast to my local server (to URI - "localhost/studia") by two clients - by FMLE and  by my "livestreams" application consequently (with stream name "livestream2") and retraslate it to remote server using my application "studia" on local one.The connection between two servers (with application "live") appears in the remote server Admin Consol,  but the stream from my local server do not come to it.Here is my main.asc

I am referring to the documentation here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS47c0525fe440307e-685173b213221ed709a-8000.html.  The documentation is for FMS "4.5.1".  Is PHDS for a live HTTP stream also supported in FMS 4.5?  I tried setting Application.xml as instructed in the guide, and when I viewed the .f4m from the live stream, I did not see any indication that it was encrypted. 

I'll be streaming different events about every 2hrs in a single night. After each live event is completed,  what steps need to be done to make each finished live event available as VOD? Do I need to package all the individual segment file into a single .flv file?Thanks!Dave

Hey guys,I am trying to find a swf to video rendering engine - basically a server side engine that can make a video as it's being assembled (or if there is an api offered by ustream).We made a Facebook application that basically takes your photos and makes a slideshow of them, but then we would like people to be able to save the slideshow as a movie and then upload it to youtube or email it to a friend.We found http://www.swfkits.com/swf-to-video-sdk/ but are trying to find an alternative..something cheaper perhaps.I even was looking at the technology behind Elf Yourself http://www.webkitchen.be/2009/11/13/video-tutorial-elf-yourself-yourself-personalized-video-on-the-web/ but the ones I found basically just mentioned the motion tracking technology and not how they converted/exported it at the end.Thanks,David

Well, I guess you all know about this issue already but I have to ask cause I can't find the solution anywhere. The thing is: I have installed Flash Media Server 4.5 in a Windows Server 2008 R2 system, so far everything is ok. I made a copy of the "vod" application from the samples directory, renamed it to "streamer" and pasted it into the applications directory. Hi. I'm having trouble connecting to a remote persistent shared object. When I run from the Flash authoring environment it works. But when I run it from a browser it doesn't. The code attaches an event listener to the sync event, and then calls so.connect(nc).   As mentioned - it works inside Flash authoring only. In both cases the connection to the server is successful. Is this a security issue? I also tried setting client.readAccess to "/" in the application.onConnect function of the server-side code - but it doesn't help.   What can cause this?  (Everything was written by me including the server-side application code. I have full control and access to the server).Also, I can see the remote object exists on the server in the admin console.And as mentioned, when running inside Flash CS5 - the onsync gets triggered after connecting to the shared object.But, the same code under a browser - doesn't trigger the onsync.The SharedObject.getRemote method on the client side ret

Experts,I need to upgrade FMS 4.5 for HDS/HLS streaming.  I am using Server 2008 and I need to use IIS7 port 80 for legacy web sites.  I would like to configure in fms.ini  using ports 1935 and 81 and Apache requests to  port 8134.  Can I use this configuration?   Do I need to open ports 81 and ports 8134 in the network?What is recommended in this case?Thanks in advance.

1. I've installed FMS on OpenSuse 11.4 64 bit, I know that according to the requirements it is not recommended distribution, but common opensuse is very modern and complete.2. During the installation I had to make a link @LibCap.so.1 into the directory where installFMS script was present (because installer says that there is no libcap library which is not true)3. Completed the installation without installing apache (I have apache on this machine but disabled -> free 80 port)4. I have left default configuration (regarding user, group, ports: 80 & 1935 + 1111, added the admin user)5. I started the server with the command ./server start6.
