I know this question might sound stupid(forgive me if I offended any of you) but I cant understand, I'm stuck in the part that what ip address would I have to use to stream live video. I understand that when I'm making the web player on Flash Pro CS5.5 I write in source " rtmp://localhost/live/livestream" but what I don't get is when I want to stream to public what will I have to do? Since the server will be my computer and In Flash Media Live Encoder I would write this " rtmp://localhost/vod/ExampleName" as the server ip or address. How would I view this when I'm connected with the custom player made in Flash pro on the Internet for other to see. Since the ip will be taking peoples "localhost" not the ip i would be streaming from like "221.524.21.2(made up address)."Sorry I'm messed up over here, I cant find a way to explain this more better . But if you do understand what's my point then please help.
Hi there,I'd like to known what are the hardware recommendations for the implementation of FSM 4.0 in a large company, the goal is stream live events to aprox 400-500 concurrent users. We would like to broadcast the signal in HD (H.264).How much bandwidth do I need?Server, Cores and Memory recommendations? Do you think that FSM is the best software solution ?Best Regards.

Hi to all,I face some problems when i try to live stream with FMS! I can stream video with Flash media live encoder to the server but when i create the player to recieve the livestream from server,i can not recieve the live stream, can anyone give me a step by step tutorial of how to do it?
Hello all,i have a linux machine with two NICs, one for Apache/PHP (port 80) and the other for FMS 4 (ports 1935, 80). I need to use RTMPT over port 80 due to our organization wireless network restrictions. I think i have set up everything right, but we cannot see any video using the wifi clients. Apparently, the problem disappears when opening the firewall and allowing port 1935 traffic.I have passed the tests at http://www.flashcomguru.com/apps/port_test/index.cfm from my wireless development machine:RTMP DEFAULT TimeOutRTMP 80 SuccessRTMP 443 SuccessRTMP 1935 TimeOutRTMPT
I am really new at this forum thing and am quite an amateur when it comes to computers, I am taking some classes, so please be patient with my ignorance when it comes to computers You Tube, Ehow, or any kids web sights(for my kids),ie:PBS; continuously freezes. I just recently bought a Samsung RV511. When I first started using it adobe worked just fine but only for about a month and now I don't remember changing anything. The only advice I have gotten was that I should back up and restore my computer. I have not done this because I am not sure exactly what it will affect. I have backed up my computer to a external hard drive but that is as far as I have gotten. I am leery of proceeding. I thought I would try the forum route before spending who knows how much to have my local Computer Nerds(that is their actual name) help me out or do the back-up and restore route. Thank you in advance to any who takes the time to attempt to help me.
I can start an instance of Flash Media Server 4 on Amazon EC2, using the Adobe public AMI, and I am able to view the vod and live media samples without any problems.I can SSH into the running instance, and I can also bring up the Admin Console web page for that instance in a browser. However I have not been able to log in to the Admin Console. Before trying to log in to the Admin Console, I have edited /opt/adobe/fms/conf/fms.ini and inserted a username and password, then I saved the modified file.I have also updated my security group to add a custom TCP rule to open port 1111.On the Admin Console page login fields I have kept the default server name of Server 1.For the server address I have tried both localhost and also the public DNS address of my EC2 instance.I have used the username and password that I put into fms.ini.But I still can not log in to the Admin Console.Help, please![I have looked at an old item http://forums.adobe.com/thread/678832 related to this topic but that did no
I have AVN420 and want to use it as encoder for FMS.Is it possible and how.
I didn't find a straight forward answer to how i can record a live stream.I need a very simple app that will connect to rtmp and record it. The app will be on the same server as the live stream. How can i do this ?
basicaly my main objective is:1) an asp.net login page2) a user logged in a page that has an asp.net session in it and SWF object3) all the session info is hidden from the user so embeding the UID etc. in flash vars/XML is not an option.4) at this point the SWF seppused to recieve an XML of the users profile without knowing the UID.step 4, as I understand it:a) the SWF connects to FMSb) FMS gets the UID from the asp.net session and sends it back to the .aspx module that returns the desired XMLc) FMS returns the XML to the SWF5) once the XML is loaded the SWF will contain links that will ask for other XML's like the users PhotoGallerystep 5, as I understand it:a) the gallery button triggers a function at the FMS that sends the relevant photoGallery+UID to the .aspx module and returns the XML to the SWFas I see it ther are 2 parts to using FMS: a) ther is the SWF that the client interacts with at the webpage he see's. b) ther is the app at FMS's applications
I am using XAMPP. Now i want to intall Flash media server. How can i configure my apache server to work with flash media server? I dont want to install the apache server coming along with flash media
Hey all total newb to as3 and FMS so please be kind... BTW I'm one of those designer people trying to learn this and am by no means a programmer or networking guru.Ok here it is. I'm running FMS 4 Dev on my win XP SP3 machine, also running flash cs5 professional on same machine. I get the server admin screen to come up and it says it's running. I'm using a tut book on FMS and trying to run the first script in the book. It's long but I'll add the script at the bottom so you can see what i'm doing. In the server app folder I placed another folder called vid2 with nothing in it just like the book told me to do. I wrote the script line for line out of the book. When I test my movie it lays out my video window and buttons. It diplays my ugly mug on the screen. when I press the record button it does nothing. when i press the stop button the output window shows me an error of "#1009 can't access properties or methods of a null object". I assume that this is telling me I do not have a net conn
Hi:Anyone knows how to switch audio track in real time? For example, show the audio tracks and choose one of them. Thanks in advance
I originally posted this question on Flash Player forum but I've got a feeling it needs configuring at the server end, so I thought I'd ask you more technical guys. When viewing streamed videos on a guitar tutorial website, if I pause for 5 minutes or more (to practice) I can't continue playing the video. When I click play it says 'loading' but just stays like that continually, or until the window is refreshed. The site uses real time streaming, not progressive downloading. So I guess the connections timed out and been dropped after 5 minutes of inactivity, is this right? If so, has it been dropped by the server or by the player? Can it be configured at either end to stop this, or to lengthen the time before it happens? Thanks, JohnWindows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 32 bitFirefox 5.0Flash Player WIN 10,3,181,26
Hey,I installed said program but whenever I add users, it says they were added successfully and exist in CMD. However when I check the users.dat file it is empty. When I try Live Encoder it says the user does not exist. Please help. Thanks,

I'm trying to play live audio from an rtmp stream on a mobile device (Android) that was built with Flash Builder 4.5.1. I can hear the stream with a Flex 3 project so I know it's playing. I also replaced the URL with a recorded file and it played. Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong? In the View:private var instructorMedia:MediaPlayerExample; var rtmpPath:String = "rtmp://myServer/eTutor";var rtmpSession = "host9938850";instructorMedia = new MediaPlayerExample(rtmpPath + "/" + rtmpSession); In the Classpackage views{import flash.display.Sprite;import org.osmf.containers.MediaContainer;import org.osmf.elements.AudioElement;import org.osmf.events.TimeEvent;import org.osmf.media.MediaPlayer;import org.osmf.media.URLResource;public class MediaPlayerExample extends Sprite{ private var mediaPlayer:MediaPlayer; public function MediaPlayerExample(URL:String) { super
Hi:Anybody knows how to get the encoding of a media (PAL, NTSC)? (I´m using Adobe flash media server)Thanks
Hi,I am developing a live encoder program. I am publishing video content to FMS with my program to livepkgr application. After i start publishing the vidoe content, files like .bootstrap, .conrol, .f4f and .meta are gettign created inside the livepkgr folder's my stream folder. But when i try to playback via OSMF player, the player is throwing error 1009. This happens for some few minutes. After some 4-5 minutes, the player start playing the live video content properly (.f4f file size is not getting updated for those few 4-5 minutes). Can any one explain the cause of error 1009 for first few minutes. Thanks and Regards,Vishwanath
Hello, I'm currently working on a webcam recorder to record high quality video. I had the recorder working before, but the video quality was quite poor. Instead I'm trying to use a client side buffer and then upload the buffer after recording has stopped. I thought after I unattached the video and audio from the NetStream that either a NetStream.Buffer.Empty or NetStream.Record.Stop event would be sent when the buffer was finished uploading. What is actually happening after I start recording is two NetStream.Record.Stop events are being sent in a row, so recording never really happens. Also, on the server side I'm trying to save a user name and password into a variable, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that since the application script is just a bunch of callback functions. I hope someone has done something similar so they might be able to help...
You can restrict the number of users on a flash server applications using server-side scripting. Here is how.1. Go to the flash server root/documentation/samples (Lets say its a live streaming aplication).2. Copy the livestreams folder to your flash server root/applications and paste it inside the folder.3. Open the main.asc file that is inside the folder you just pasted.4. At the end of the code paste the following code:application.onConnect = function(clientObj){if (application.clients.length >=500){application.rejectConnection(clientObj);trace ("Too many users... rejecting new connection");}else{application.acceptConnection(clientObj);}}On this code the application will accept 500 connections. You can change the number of connections to any number.Remember that your Flash Live Encoder needs at least one connection to send the video to the server.5. Make sure to grab the application.xml from the live application folder and copy it to your new application folder. This keeps the live
Hi,I am developing an live encoder programs to publish the audio and video content to FMS. After establishing the TCP connection with FMS, when i start sending commanda and data, FMS is closing the TCP connection forcibly. Can anyone explain why is this happening? Thanks and Regards,Vishwanath
