Media Server (read-only)

Uses can log into my site and record camera videos to FMS,and now I want to present videos that belongs to a specific user in a classfied way,that is:videos those are being recordedvideos those have already been recordedAnyone knows how to do this with FMS?I'm thinking of doing this by storing such information into the database with server side as,using onConnect and onDisconnect,but that's not the most stable way IMO, I don't know whether FMS has a native support for this kind of job...

Hi,I've just installed FMS 4 on dev version windows vista to start developing locally against this server.However after running the install I cannot connect. All attempts to connect result in "NetConnection.Connect.Failed".This incluldes the samples on the start page, the admin console and my own attempts to connect.I've attempted to connect with localhost, 127.0.0.1 and my computer name. None of these work.I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling too.Can anyone suggest why this might be the case?BestMatt

I am developing an application in Flash that runs locally and it uses FMS 4.01, locally. I have been using adobe FMS 4.01 for months with no problem. Today I cannot connect to my server and I cannot even play the sample video on the Flash Media Server Start Screen. The sample video for the http plays after I changed the permissions for flash, but rtmp does not play. I have reinstalled the server; 3.5, 4.0 and 4.01, none of them will connect to rtmp. I receive this error on the flash media server start screen that says "the connection timed out". How do I fix this?please help!

Hello, I am new here and I am sorry if this question was posted before, but I did not find it in the forums.First question:Is there any other faster method to communicate between FMS and PHP except AMFPHP?Second one:After all users leave a chat room .. that chat room persists in the FMS server for a while.. before it is cleared.... Is there any way to clear the chat room from the server right after the last user leaves that chat room?Thanks

Hello guys, how are you? I'm trying to figure out how to upload a file from FMS to another server like Amazon S3 for example. The thing is that i'll have some video and audio files in my FMS app and i need to move them to Amazon S3, so that i can stream them through the Amazon CloudFront service. Has anyone already did something like this?Regards.

Hi,When using DVR with RTMP streaming the stream could/would be saved as single big file on the server, but when using HTTP streaming the stream will consist of numerous chuncked files; in this case how will the stream get saved, will FMS 4 assemble the chunks? unlikely, will the chunks of stream get saved? in this case I wonder which tool could be used to access it and make VODs of it. What is the exact behaviour of FMS4 when dealing with storage of DVR HTTP streaming?Thanks

Hi,I want to use the FMG as a gateway from PSTN to  FMS  for recording and broadcasting.I see that I can use the FMG directly with a SIP trunking without a PBX (Asterisk,3CX etc.)For my usage I don't see any reason to use PBX in the way of the call.Is there another reason (scalability/reliability)  to use a PBX before the FMG ?Shlomo.

Is it common to have issues when there are more than one Recording SWF on an html page?I have 4 SWFs on a page, each with the capability to record, They all use the same FMS application but record and playback different FLV files.Could there be an issue with the NC being shared and then causing grief?Any workarounds?

I want to get the meta from an FMS server and start buffering (really I just want the first frame).  Is there any way to do this other than calling play() and waiting for meta to call pause?

I'm trying to use the new stepping to add 2x, 4x, 8x playback options to my player.  They were working fine, but lately have begun to be very laggy.  How do I go about diagnosing this?  The administrative console isn't printing any messages, and my client isn't have any errors.

Hey all, I have Flash media server, flash media live encoder, and flash cs5. I'm gonna be using flash media live encoder to stream my desktop and webcam to my website. My current host (host gator) doesn't have rtmp enabled on their web hosting plan, only on their dedicated and vps hosting. My question is do I need to switch hosts to one that has rtmp enabled so I can stream to my website for people to view?Also, can I embed this stream into another part of my site?

Hi,I have an application on FMS. When a user connect to FMS it will create an application instance. My question is that if all users that connect to it disconnect the instance will be unload automatically?

Hello,I'm using adobe connect pro meeting 7.5 SP1 running over a Adobe Flash Media Server 3.0.4 r431.It is possible to record meetings and they are playbacked by a Flashplayer that is configured as an Application on the FMS.The problem is that some users with slow Internet connection experience problems when receiving the streamed playback. I would like to know if there is a way to configure this flashplayer playback with buffering support the same way youtube flashplayer does. In doing this way, our users with slow connection will be able to pause it and wait for the playback to fully "download as a buffer" and then watch it with no interruption.Any idea?Thanks,Francisco.

Hi .. I have an FMS Clustered in Edge-Origin configuration. Can I havedifferent Origins for different applications but the same edges?. I mean canI have multiple edges forwarding the requests to the Origins based on theapplication name?From the client... rtmp://edge1.com:1935/application1 --> edge1 willredirect the request to Origin1. And Origin1 is the place where theapplication1 is running actually.From the client... rtmp://edge1.com:1935/application2 --> edge1 willredirect the request to Origin2. Hello,In terms of configuring client SIP profiles, my understanding is that for every SIP client extension that is to call the FMG we need to create a profile configuration element in the sip.xml file. This is fine when the number of clients is small but what happens in the case of hundreds of clients? Would we have to create hundreds of profile elements in the sip.xml or is there a more dynamic way to manage this?Furthermore, if we'd like to restrict the validity of these extensions to a certain time-frame or at least be able to change their passwords then is this something we can handle in FMG without having to modify the sip.xml and reload FMG every time a change is made? Or is this sort of logic reserved for back-end technology such as Asterisk's Dial-Plan whilst FMG configuration needs to remain as static as possible?Thanks, - Georges

Hi folks...I have this video chat(video, text and audio) program written in actionscript and using FMS as the media server, that I would like to test out with diff comps. I don't have enough webcams to go around and also not all have a built-in webcam. Is there anyway I can use some software to record the screen activity as a video and than stream it over? I am aware that there are softwares that can record the screen activity, but how do I stream it over after that, while still in my video chat applicaton? Hope someone can advise. Thanks.

do we need to pay anything for Upgrading FMS 3.5.1 to 3.5.5 ?if it is free then updating to latest available version possible or only to 3.5 series?And also please provide me with the upgrading steps.. someone who already did this upgrading in realtime successfully help me with those real steps..Regards,
