Hi,I am trying to connect a simple application to FMS2. I get this error in the Server Log: Connection rejected by server. Reason : [ Server.Reject ] : Invalid uri : rtmp:/test. I have the test dir in the applications folder. This is what I give as a path rtmp:/test in the applications directory of the simple connect component. So what can be the problem?
When I place the .swf, smil and http files on the FMS server the SMIL stream test sample works fineBut When I move the files to my web server I get Connection error. This is the same issue discussed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/554107I added a ‘base’ variable but it did not work for me. The SMIL file has the correct path to the sample files and FMS server <meta base="rtmp://200.200.200.23/vod/" /> I am able to stream files from my html file on my webserver not the FMS server by pointing to the FMS server at rtmp://200.200.200.23/vod/mp4:sample1_1500kbps.f4v Is this a domain security setting? If so, where do I change it? If not How do I get FMS to stream SMIL files without installing a webserver with FMS? Thanks,
Hi,I have installed Flash Media Server on our server. When I load up the application home page, I see the demo video of a train. Then I click on the "Interactive" tab on the right hand side. I was SHOCKED to see that I can create a live stream from my local camera without any credentials at all. Anyone who visits this webpage can publish a live video stream on our Flash Media Server? Please tell me there is a simple configuration change I can make to close up this gaping security hole. Thanks
Hi, here's the problem:I want to protect SWF files that contain graphics, code and audio from rippers.I want to sell the SWFs online via credit card but not allow unauthorised use or sharing.I want customers to be able to use the dynamically served SWF on a learning management/content system (web training delivery). The learning management/content system is hosted externally to the corporate intranet via a firewall.I want to control the licence - for example: a company buys the licence for max 100 persons per month (i.e. 100 deliveries of a training course). The above is possible with non-Adobe products but I haven't found one that also dynamically serves SWFs/video.Is it possible with Adobe products?I envisage on the LMS web page, there is a SWF link to the server, with a licence code in the web page, so when the page is loaded, it calls for the SWF and provides the licence, the adobe media server checks the licence and counts the uses, with firewall permission, and deliveres the SWF to
Hi all,I am trying to start making an admin client side application to monitor our service, including its properties that simply cannot be done through Administration Console, like blocking IP addresses of offending users. My problem is that even before I start using the Administration API (on which I will comment further down), I tried to f.e. inspect the shared objects and streams of the application through the Admin. Console, but I get a popup "Failed to make debug connection, please check that the application is in debug mode." Configuration files are unaltered from install, which means MaxPendingDebugConnections is set to 50, AllowDebugDefault is set to false, BUT in the serve side main.asc file I have "application.allowDebug = true;"Yet, it does not work. Why?Also, on a related note, I can see that the Administration API lists the API itself, but there is vague to no mention at all where to connect first? I recall spotting somewhere suffixing the RTMP URL with something like "_fcs
If an end user wants to view a certain file on the server but does not know the file name how can they search/locate it? As an administrator I have access to the VOD folder, but end users do not have admin rights. How does a user find the file they are looking for?
We haven't had success in attempting to dynamically generate subfolders within the streams folder for our file storage. we expect lots of files over time and wanted a nice way to organize things. has anyone ever had trouble with this? we tried:streams/ subfolder/ file... file...also triedstreams/ subfolder/ subfolder/ file... file... but when passing a folder name to fms it gets ignored. without a technical solution i'm looking at a manual cleanup process.
Hi all,I would like to know how bandwidth detection works in FMS? Does it downloading something or what? Does FMS is using rtmp or http protocol to check it?thanks a lot.Lukasz
Hi all,I have come to believe that on some or all occasions calling 'Application.disconnect' method on a client does not actually terminate the connection. Is this so?Documentation simply says:"Terminates a client connection to the application. When this method is called, NetConnection.onStatus() is invoked on the client with info.code set to "NetConnection.Connect.Closed". The application.onDisconnect()handler is also invoked."The part that worries me is "when this method is called ... is invoked on the client". Does this mean, that all that Application.disconnect call does is invoke the event on client side? Does this mean that only client can actually terminate the connection by say invoking a NetConnection.close in the event of "NetConnection.Connect.Closed" ?I am depending on this, because our application has blocked clients, and I can see that some blocked clients do not disappear after FMS 'disconnects' them.
Hello Everyone,I got one requirement is that where i have to implement a connection between Java service and FMS 3.5I have one event.jar file. When this jar file is executed it returns an xml document for every 5 seconds. I have to load this xml document from FMS main.asc file. i.e with serverside sctionscript .I have gone through the "xmlsocket" class, but didn't get idea of how to start with it.Can anybody help me in this requirement. If anyone have any example or idea on it can you please share that with me..Thanks in Advance.Sharvirala.
Hello all,my application is using dynamic stream (using smil file). FMS server and HTTP server are installed locally. Can you please tell me the best way to test if dynamic streaming is really working? How can I check if steaming is changing "on fly"?thank you.Lukasz
Loosing FMS connection after 2 or 3 execution of the program. Y ?thanks
HELP!I have downloaded and installed the Flash Media Server (FMS) trial version. Just purchased the software today and waiting for the activation serial number. I created a video gallery - http://www.usedgymequipment.com/videos3.cfm My goal is for these videos to stream just like vimeo.comI am only using HD 1280 x 720 video. All videos are between 25 to 125 MB in size, originally .mov files converted to .flv using FFMPEG. Videos are between 30 seconds to 58 seconds in length. I am using ColdFusion to upload and organize my videos and I have configured FMS to work with CF.The Issue is that these videos buffer the same way they did when I didn't have FMS installed. Press play, the video buffers, the video plays, then stops to buffer again. Stop and Buffer, Stop and Buffer. I can understand if there is buffering at the start of the video but not throughout. When I start the video over from the start, it has to buffer all over again!I cant get any help from Ad
Hi all,I must rejected all users outside Denmark from our live streaming (c-ip) and this is done in an access plug-insBut now I need to open up one of the streams, but I can't get the streaming name in the access-plug-ins only in the Auth-plug-ins.I cant use x-page-url or s-uri .I need pStreamName. in access-plug-in like thissetStringField(m_pAev, IFmsAuthEvent::F_STREAM_NAME, pStreamName);but I cant get it inside the access-plug-insI hope someone has solution? The Product is FMS verson 3.5Is it possible to transfer data between access-plug-ins and auth-plug-ins ?Thx in advanceFritz
I bought Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 and I have problems with large video. After 70 minutes, the video stops playing. Do you have any idea?
We are using FMS3.5 for VOD streaming. It’s spotted that when we are using Flash Player Version = WIN 10.0.42.34/10,0,45,2, it is encountered that the video picture is hang but audio keeps playing after our commercial break point. we will first pause the video content and then use the same object to play the instream ad. After that, the video is resume when instream ad complete. Thanks for helping!
Hi, folks, I need to design a Flash based web conference service. One requirement is it should allow multiple users to speak concurrently like a normal conference call facility does. However, I'm wondering whether Flash has any support of such mechanism. Can multiple client publish their Mic object to the same stream hosted by the FMS and get mixed together there? Or, rather, I have to create multiple streams for each speaker to publish to respectively and instruct every audience to subscribe all of these sterams and do the mix on the receiver side? Your suggestions is highly appreciated. Thanks.Regards.Weikai.
By default, the server runs as System Account with no access to network drives. You can change the service user to a user with network access privileges with a UNC path. In Windows 2008, when I change FMS service to log on as user and start the service I get ” Windows Could not start the Flash Media Server (FMS) service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly”. When I change it back to Local System Account, it works fine Tested in Windows 7 x64 and I was able to start the service as a user log on. Any idea how to fix this issue in Windows 2008. I checked the local policy group and the user have rights to log on as a service. I compared Windows 7 setting to Windows 2008 and they match. Thanks,Mike S.
I have an *.flv file on a FMS. When I play it on the client side the video plays just fine, but when I call Stream.play(filename, 0, -1, false) on the server side the video turns out really choppy.I both cases I use NetConnection to connect to an rtmp and NetStream to play the stream, but in one case I connect to a stream and request the server to play my file on that stream. Apparently that doesn't work with files? It works just fine for live streams.I really don't get why this should differ at all. Any suggestions?
I recently installed FMS 3.5.1 and then upgraded it to 3.5.3 on a Windows 2003 server. In both versions, I can not stream .f4v or .mp3 from a subfolder. The .flv file plays fine.I used the default configuration settings, sample .f4v and .flv files provided by the installer. I used the sample player in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\samples\videoPlayer as the client. Here are steps to reproduce the issue:First I made sure the sample files can be streamed from the original folder. Both rtmp://{fms ip}/vod/mp4:sample1_500kbps.f4v and rtmp://{fms ip}/vod/sample.flv worked.I created subfolder folder1 under C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vod\media.Moved those 2 sample files to folder1 subfolderrtmp://{fms ip}/vod/folder1/mp4:sample1_500kbps.f4v did not play. The player showed error "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again."rtmp://{fms ip}/vod/folder1/sample.flv played fine.
Hi,I'm making exercises from here http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/video_sharing_web_app.html and on 4th page Jens Loeffler asking to create main.asc file with following code: application.onConnect = function(clObj) { this.acceptConnection(clObj); } Client.prototype.getFiles = function() { var fileList = new File("/streams/_defInst_/"); var temp = fileList.list(); return temp; }I did it, and when start application FMS is showing me error: Sending error message: Method not found (getFiles). Do you know why? What is wrong with this method?thank you.Lukasz
It's kind of strange, and the documentation is very vague.I have a server side shared object I wish to protect from any peeking by RTMP clients, much less altering, and I have done the following in my Application.onConnect function:client.writeAccess = "";client.readAccess = "";I am sure this denies clients access to the shared objects. The problem is, it makes live streaming impossible - server writes:"Write access denied for stream *****.Read access denied for stream *****."... and clients attempting to play any live publishing stream get a NetStream.Play.Failed while publishing a live stream raises an event with NetStream.Record.NoAccess, even though I am not recording anything at all.My question is fairly obvious and simple: how to deny clients any read access to some/all shared objects yet keep live streaming working? Is it possible at all? Thanks.
I pump my video (both live streaming and VOD) through a popular CDN. They control the server side (FMS) settings. I can request that they change things and they do so and let me know when I can test.I'm wondering about server side buffering settings. Is there supposed to be some sort of coordination between the buffering settings there and the client side buffering settings I implement in my video player? The reason I ask is I get wierd buffering behaviors in my client side player under certain conditions and there doesn't seem to be much to adjust there other than the NetStream.bufferTime property. For instance, if I set the bufferTime property in my client viewer to 10 seconds, the player just seems to ignore it and starts playing the stream right away or within a second or two. Other times I see crazy values in the bufferTime property, like 400 seconds (I check the property's value about every second).I'm wondering if there are some FMS settings that are overr
This is the output from our college's annual network vulnerability scan. The scan revealed a critical level vulnerability related to our Flash Media Server related to the RTMP protocol. Here’s the snippet from the company that does the scan:The remote host is running Adobe's Flash Media Server, an application server for Flash-based applications. The Edge server component included with the version of Flash Media Server installed on the remote host contains several integer overflow and memory corruption errors that can be triggered when parsing specially-crafted Real Time Message Protocol (RTMP) packets. An unauthenticated remote attacker can leverage these issues to crash the affected service or execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM-level privileges (under Windows), potentially resulting in a complete compromise of the affected host.Is this a known issue? Any thoughts on how to address it? BTW, I'm a video guy not a sys admin, so be gentle.Thanks.Peter
