Hello everybody!I'm writing from Italy and this is my first post in this forum so excuse me for my own english!Come to my problem...I'm realising a web tv and i've bought a custom straming plan on influxis.com with this specs:- Concurrent connections: 5- Bandwith per client: 512kbps- Disk space: 2GB- Bandwith transfert: 5GBWhether i write "manually" the entire code to manage the streams ( using the NetStream and Video objects ) that if i use the FLVPlayback component, the time between the video start to buffer and the time when the first frame became visible is too much long.I thought it was due to the weight of the file and it encoding. For testing, i prepared a file .flv ( i would also support the f4v ) of about 500kb, with a video bitrate of 320kbps and the audio something like 96kbps but i'm not sure because i don't remember.Even trying to watch this lightweight video, i have to wait at least 10 seconds (if not more! much more, sometimes, for f4v, i've to wait a minute!) to see the

Hello,We're in process of trying to purchase a new server. Our server unit wanted to provide a VM instance, which I told them would not work (according to the documentation). So, their next suggestion is to provide a blade server. Is this an acceptable configuration (assuming they meet recommended CPU/RAM requirements) to install FMS?Please advise.Thank you,Clark Swisher
hi,i'm trying to use this code but i can't to access to function nc.onFCSubscribe. how can i do it? someone know about that?¿ the original site of the code is http://www.flashcomguru.com/index.cfm/2009/8/14/flvplayback-obtain-nc-referencethanks.// listen to player events and kill manual connection once we're streaming player.addEventListener("playing", playListener); player.addEventListener("stateChange", stateListener); player.addEventListener("ready", readyListener); /* this is the hack: check once every frame if the NC has been defined inside the FLVPlayback component */ this.onEnterFrame = function() { if (player.ncMgr.getNetConnection() != undefined) { this.onEnterFrame = null; &
Hello,we plan to operate an online class room,up to 10 rooms with 10-20 students each, normal 640x480 max video, teacher broadcasts video/audio, the rest can text chat!Any suggestions regarding hardware? Will one server be enough?Thank you for your answers
Hi I'm new to the Flash world so any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I would like to build a video conferencing app that supports H.264. Is there a way to use Flash to do that? I understand that Flash natively supports the Sorensen Spark video codec and that you need to use Flash Live Encoder 3 for H.264 encoding. I can't seem to find any documentation that shows me how to use FLE3 with ActionScript. Thanks in advance for responses.
I'm building a website that will allow 2 different users to meet in a secure, private video conference. Wondering if our develpoers can use the Flash Media Server to integrate this functionality into our site? Here are requirements that we need to support:Scheduled video conferences:* User1 and User2 click "start video session" link and are put into a video conference room* If someone who is not the user1 or user2 clicks link, throw "You don't have access to this chat" errorOther requirements:* Secure (3rd user can't hack into video conference and listen in etc)* Our web-app can control who can enter a session, can track sessions and know duration/users who were in the sessionThanks!!
I've just loaded Flash media server 3.5 successfully but I'm having a senior moment because I can't seem to get my head round a few things. I understood by loading the free version of the media server it allowed up to 10 simultaneous connections, which is fine. But here's what I don't get or am I being completely thick; when other users log on to my website they don't receive the video stream, only I see it because my pc is the local host I assume?? How do I get other users to access the stream?
I'm currently experiencing instability with FMS 3.5.2 on CentOS 5.3 and could do with some help if possible!What is happening is that the server core is shutting down:2009-06-08 09:18:31 9809 (i)2581173 Host: www.test.me IPv4: 12.34.56.78 - 2009-06-08 09:18:31 9809 (i)2571011 Server starting... - 2009-06-08 09:18:32 9809 (i)2581413 /opt/adobe/fms/Apache2.2/bin/httpd -f ./conf/httpd.conf -d "/opt/adobe/fms/Apache2.2" -k start returned 0: - 2009-06-08 09:18:32 9809 (i)258122
Hi all, Is it possible to set just one property of a remote SharedObject to clear itself? I understand that calling "clear" on an RSO will cause ALL properties to fire the "clear" event and clear out; however, what I want to do is clear out the data in a specific property so that the "clear" event/message is fired (and not the "change" one since I already have some actions in that). I suppose I could just set the property to an empty string and put guard code inside my handling of the "change" event/message, but, I'd rather not do that. Any ideas?Cheers,Duncan
Good day...i have got a video application using FLVPLAYBACK component. isLive=true, rtmp://application/live/demoFlash media live encoder 3 the instance is demo. Everything works fine.I need to know when Flash Media Live Encoder 3 is off-line. how i can do that FLVPLAYBACK detect this action and the client is disconnected. i try using buffering but i don't know, how take a time for it. for example is 5sec in buffering do another action or is there some function that detects when there is off-line?thanks..
I have an application that is a continues stream. 24/7/365. When people connect with different networking issues, ie the Internet, they can watch for awhile and then it seems like it "fast forwards" in order to "catch up". I just want this data to be dropped as it's old and will never have time to totally catch up. Is it possible to configure FMS to not create this cache? I was thinking that if I set netStream.setBufferTime(0) that this would not be an issue. Any ideas? Thanks! Wade Arnold
Should I buffer a live webcam stream?
VideoError: 1000: Unable to make connection to server or to find FLV on server I've spent a lot of time in the past couple of weeks trying to figure out what could be the problem. I developed a Live Streaming Flash (swf) that play fine in my local host with my Labtop with FMS3 Installed.I can see my live video in internet only when i use my laptop. What puzzled me is that even when i connected to Internet my Live stream and the dynamic playlist work perfect on my laptop but never in any other computer. I have tested it on several computers in different places, the only thing i get always is this code; VideoError: 1000: Unable to make connection to server or to find FLV on server at fl.video::VideoPlayer/play() at fl.video::FLVPlayback/ http://www.adobe.com/2007/flash/flvplayback/internal::showFirstStream() at fl.video::FLVPlayback/ http://www.adobe.com/2007/flash/flvplayback/internal::handleVideoEvent() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/flash.events:EventDispatcher::dispatchEventFunc
Tried to upgrade to FMS 3.5.2 on CentOS 5. No dice. Listener doesn't start. No other (as far as I know) services running on :1935.Admin server works, but not Streaming Server. Anyone run into this and have a solution?
Recently, I have writed a section of FMS server-side code about online user list in ain. But when I loaded an app instance, it would beimmediately unloaded. I think my code's problem causes it. Can someone help me?My code is as follow:var onlineUserSO;var onlineExpertSO;application.onAppStart = function(){ onlineUserSO = SharedObject.get("OnlineUserSO",true); onlineExpertSO = SharedObject.get("OnlineExpertSO",true); trace("onAppStart() has been called!");}application.onConnect = function(client, userName, userType, isBusy){ application.acceptConnection(client); client.userType = userType; client.userName = userName; if(userType == "诊断用户") { trace("当前登录诊断用户: " + userName + " ,状态: " + isBusy); var userList = []; //也可以用new Array()不过这个效率更高 if(onlineUserSO.data.userCollection != null) userList = (Object)onlineUserSO.data.userCollection; var userObj = new Object(); userObj["loginedName"] = u
I developed an application which streams a live video. It works fine with FMS 3.5(developer edition) but doesnt work with FMSS3 (full version). Can any one tell me where I might have went wrong?

Hi all, I'm pretty new to Flash VOD, exploring using a FMIS as a substitute for an existing vbrick systems' server. One thing that I'll need to do is authenticate users against an LDAP directory. Basically, the implementation will need to embed a Flash media player in a web page, the page also sets the server URI and stream name for the player. The player would need to ask the user for a username/password, and the server would need to make some determination about whether the user is authorized to receive the specified stream. The advertising on Adobe's site for FMIS talks about LDAP, but on closer inspection it seems as though there's no real LDAP implementation. Instead, it seems as though there's a framework that allows for the development of an LDAP service. Is this the correct understanding? and if so, are there are any third-party plugins available commercially to handle LDAP? And if there aren't any commercial products, are there are any good resources for getting started deve
Hello,I know there is a way to determine how many users can connect or "join"( in a manner of speach) per second, and how to set a maximum number of users in the queue to join, this does not mean though, that the server will reject all or any petitions after a certain number of players are connected or viewing a stream, which is what we need to do. anyone know if its possible to do this and how?in other words,we need to set a limit on how many users can be watching a stream at any given time, be it by stream or by server, it matters little, we just need to get it set... any ideas? or is this just not possible?thanks!kind regards,
Hi, I did an application here to record the user's webcam and store an .FLV at my applications folder. That's ok. But I want to retrive this .FLV using HTTP mode, to load the .FLV progressively, not by streaming. Got it? For example, if I record a user webcam called "myWebcam": myVideoClass.load("http://localhost/applications/my_app/myWe bcam.flv"); Using http (progressively), not rtmpt (streaming). There is some way to do that? Or to move the file from applications folder to webroot? Thanks and sorry for my english!
I'm looking to have a stream generated by FMS Interactive 3.5 from a large number of pre-recorded .flv videos. The videos need to start at a certain exact time, and need to play for an exact number of seconds. (ie, a video needs to start at 3:00:00 and play until 3:00:15, with another video starting at 3:00:15)Right now I'm reading the filename to play and its start time from a database, and telling the stream to play that file at the retrieved time, for a certain number of seconds.app.myStream.play(app.nextVideo.filename,0,vLength,0);If I leave vLength at the default, the currently played video IS replaced with the next video, but there's several seconds delay for some reason (the server will switch to the video at 3:00:15, but the client wont start seeing the video until 3:00:19), so I've been setting vLength to the number of seconds that the video is supposed to play. With vLength set properly, the problem I'm having seems to be related to the reset parameter. When
As you know we are trying to achive quality live streaming with FMS. This quality depends on the users network connection and webcam resolution. No matter what have done, we cannot seem to get smooth video without it pausing. We need video to qulaity to adapt to bandwidth and video quality per system so the rations should reflect that output and stream accordingly. Below are the values we are using, are there any reccomendtaion or changes we can make to these number to get smooth live video streaming?Ratios:if bandwidth <300kbps quality 55%if bandwidth >300 && <500 quality 65%if bandwidth >500 & <750 quality 75%if bandwidth >750 & < 1000 quality 85%if bandwidth >1000 quality 95%quality 55% means we are mentaining video quality 55% of original video quality..In the video streaming application, we want to have best possible quality with smooth video, for different bandwidth levels. We are checking bandwidth dynamically in time of broadcasting,
