Hi all,i'm struggling setting up 4 live audio sources with fms 3.5. I have 4 streams input from our studios into 1 encoder server. From here I need to pass it to the internet via 4 FMS 3.5 servers. I do not want to have 4 * 4 encoding sessions on the encoder in order to service the 4 FMS servers. Is there any way to pull the streams from the encoders?I have also tried configuring explicit connections using 1 server as an origin server and 3 as edge servers but being a live stream the load and connections seem to get passed to the origin server which will eventually not handle the load.i've looked through the application.xml server settings but cannot seem to see any notiable settings?Thanksandrew
I have a few problems with respect to the FMS3.5 server. When the default server configuration is being installed (with apache): do I need to open port 8134 in for the firewall or not? When non-FMS content is served over the default apache server, is the FMS server configuration being in any way used to pass on the content? The problem for me is that pseudostreaming windows media files and ram files for rm media does not perform as rapidly and even not at all when using the fms default apache (the connection times out); while a standalone apache on a different machine does it all fine.
Where can I find the Load Simulator tool?Thank you,Chip
In <FMS plug-in developer guide> we can see "You can query your organization's database of users and passwords to determine which connection requests should be allowed. Once the plug-in accepts the connection, you can update the database with a record of the user’s access to the server."
Please teach Flash Media Live Encoder. Are you preserved only in the local though provide the recording function in FME?It will be able to record directly in FMS.Does the recorded image preserve the image from the camera directly or is what has flowed by way of FMS preserved?
i setup the development versionof fms 3.5 server on windows 2003 server and it worked great in my tests. so we bought the server and are putting it in production now. the only problem is i never "tested" large FLV files. now if i put a large 50+megabytes flv file in the server it constantly buffers on the client. Is there a setting that defines the buffer size to increase the amount of buffer data that gets sent to the client?if i use a small flv file it works flawlessly but for large files it says "buffering" every 2-5seconds on the client.the client is just opening the test page that comes with the server the server has 3000mb/s to the internet and the client has a 20mb/s connection so i don't think bandwidth is an issue...
I would like to create geo locking module which would react per-file/stream. This means that one particular file which will be streamed via FMS can be geolocked to one country (e.g. Lost can be viewed only by USA viewers (IPs)).Flash video player connects with nc.connect() and plays file with ns.play() method. Geolocking would happend on ns.play() since some files/live streams are locked to some countries (not everything is geolocked and once they are, are not geolocked to same countries so everything happend on per file basis). Can this module be done in Actionscript or is it necessary to use C++ module?Thank you in advance.
I'm going nuts trying to find a definitive answer on video encoding for FMS (RTMP). All the docs I've found talk about using CBR (constant bitrate encoding). But all of the tools I've tried either don't support CBR or perform so poorly that it will take months to finish the work I have.Does anybody know whether VBR is a dealbreaker for streaming Flash videos using FMS?- I've tried the Adobe Media Encoder included with CS4, but it doesn't like my source files. - Sorenson Squeeze 5 does CBR, but it's painfully slow.- x264 seems to be the winner as far as speed and the quality, but it doesn't support CBR.- MainConcept's H264 does CBR (I think it's the same codec in Adobe's encoder), but the Pro version is $1,000. 😞Am I missing something? Any suggestions would be great!
I'm currently trying to return the metadata of recorded streams using Stream.getOnMetaData(), but it never returns an object. If I trace server-side, the stream is found, as I can get the size and length of it, but no metadata object comes back to my client. Does anyone have a sample using this method properly? Server-side code: Client.prototype.getStreamMetaData = function(streamName) { trace("return stream metadata: " + streamName); trace("streamsize: " + Stream.size(streamName)); trace("streamlength: " + Stream.length(streamName)); var md = Stream.getOnMetaData(streamName); return md; } Neither of my client Responder functions (result or status) get called on the client when I invoke NetConnection.call() on this. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Ryan
Hi!I have FMS 3.x developer version installed on my machine and it is working fine.. till.. I start using ASC files. As long as I am with client side code, I have no issues. For some functionality addition, I needed to use an ASC file. To test the connection, I created an ASC file which has the following code:application.onAppStart = function() { this.allowDebug = true; } application.onConnect = function(client){ application.acceptConnection(client); client.callFromClient = function(clientStr) { return "Hello "+clientStr; } }If I make any change to the above code, it doesnt reflect until I restart my FMS server. For example, if I am changing the return "Hello".. to return "Hi".. I need to restart FMS to see it work!Pls help!
Hi,this is my first post but i hope you guys can help me out in any way.Finding faults in my reasoning, or expanding the discussion further. We are benchmarking FMS 3.5.x for live dynamic streaming and we have run across an issue. When throttling the client from a high bandwidth (1500kbps) to a low bandwidth (325kbps) via a bandwidth shaper (a physical firewall) it takes a very long (real-) time for the client to see the new stream-quality.During the investigation of this issue we have narrowed this down to:1. when transition is requested from client, the client-side buffer is 1/2 i.e. 4-5seconds.2. if transition is request on a client with unlimited bandwidth, it takes about 6 seconds for the server to process, find an acceptable switching position and send a "transition.complete" event.3. on the throttled client however, this event takes much longer.4. when really closely examining what happens between throttled request and throttled "transition.complete" it seems that the client is se
Hi All, Is there any piece of code for returning the value from fms(.asc) to flash (AS2). Any one Knows........ Replay.. Thanks in advance..RegardsSaransoft
Hi all, I'm a bit puzzled here. I've looked online for a bunch of examples/samples, but, none of them seem to work or give me a straight answer. Here's my setup/situation:- Flash Media Server 3.5 (using ActionScript 3 for server-side code)- Flex application (built in Flex Builder 3, using ActionScript 3)Now, I'm trying to get the server-side ASC code to call something from a connected client. It doesn't seem to work (thought everything else works beautifully). I've tried stuff like the following in the server side:- In the application.onConnect function, I've tried this:...currentClient.requestChat = function (reqID, destID){ trace("Requesting chat..."); currentClient.call("requestWaiting", new reqHandler(), reqID, destID);};...(Where reqHandler is just some handler that I know gets called).- I've also tried the following code outside the onConnect function:Client.prototype.requestChat = function (reqID, destID){ trace("Requesting chat...
Hey Flash Guru'sIm wondering if anyone have had any similar problems with the MP4 (H.264) format when implementing Dynamic Streaming using a FMS server?Basicly we developed a player that detects the users bandwidth and plays the appropiate VOD stream (500, 1000 or 1500 kb/sec). Its tested with NetLimiter and works perfectly switching bitrates/files during the movie with both MP4 (h.264) and FLV (On2Vp6).The problem occurs when you seek (jumps in the progressbar). When playing the MP4 files the player often uses 2-10 seconds to start the stream again. But when using FLV files the seeking is seamless and starts the stream within 2 seconds everytime. So my question is if the FMS servers, Flash or the Dynamic Streaming got an issue with MP4 files?Any help would be appreciated.Best regardsBoDenmark
We're having a problem with network connectivity since our FMS 3.5.1 server has went live. When this happens the server does not deliver the flash content until it is rebooted. Any suggestions? We're this is our first FMS and we have no clue on how to resolve this issue. I'm working with a custom made Flash video player using FMS (Wowza, actually). The video is working, yet when I access the BytesLoaded and BytesTotal, I get 0 (zero) for each. This even persists as the video is loading and playing. It's as if it is not even being registered at all. Here's the code:var amountPlayed:Number = Math.round(ns.time * tlInterval) / Math.round(duration * tlInterval) * tlInterval; controls.tl.width = Math.round(amountPlayed) * controls.tlw / tlInterval; outputBL.text = "Bytes Loaded: " + (ns.bytesLoaded).toString(); outputBT.text = "Bytes Total: " + (ns.bytesTotal).toString();The output produces "0";I tested this with a similar player that uses progressive downloading instead, and I get real data.Is this lost with FMS?
I have finally figure it how to play a fvideo with FMS 3.5. But no sounds. any help?
Hi,Does anyone know if Flash Media Server can be configured to reduce the image quality of a publish stream if available bandwidth goes down or there are delays in the connection? When I (locally) play back videos recorded on poorer/intermittent connections, video frames are dropped, so the image freezes up.Thanks in advance for any ideas,Ajay
I have a simple application that is streaming recorded videos on server side in sequence (like tv broadcast style), the problem I'm having is when I start the app the video starts then a couple minutes into it the client recieves "NetStream.Play.InsuffientBW", then it unpubishes the video stream. Rarely does it make it to the next video before cutting off. I'm currently on a 3T line here so I know I have enough bandwith to watch it and I also streaming a low res video that was encoded at 300kbps. I'm using FMS 3.0 if that helps. Any suggestions???
Hello, I'm a seasoned ActionScript programmer, yet fairly new to Flash video, FMS, and RTMP.I've been developing a custom Flash video player, and we now need it to use RTMP with FMS. Despite my attempts, it is not working. Is it required that I use the FLVPlayback component to use RTMP?I'm using SWFObject to pass parameters into the video player, including the URL to the video. It works just fine with HTTP requests, but does not work with RTMP:flashvars.videoPath_100 = "rtmp://e1f1.simplecdn.net/play/_definst_/video/test1.flv";Is this a correct use of RTMP? I read something somewhere that vaguely stated you do not use ".flv" at the end of the RTMP call. Is that correct? Also, what if I am using mp4 files, is it then like this:flashvars.videoPath_100 = "rtmp://e1f1.simplecdn.net/play/_definst_/video/test2.mp4";We are on a tight deadline, and need to get this working asap. Any insights offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hello,We are testing Flash Media Server 3.5 with Flash Media Live Encoder 3.Right now we have the problem, that we can not connect from FM Live Encoder 3 to FMS 3.5 running on the localhost (M:\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\Apache2.2). Both running as Standard Installation on the same System (OS: Windows XP SP2). The User is not found. So where do we have to setup the user, so that the connection is possible, FM Live Encoder:Configuration for Output:FMS URL: rtmp://localhost/liveBackup URL: Stream: livestreamThen press Button “Connect”Entering the only user and password we set in the FMS Admin Console:User ard, pw: ardØ Then the Reply is: User not found.FMS 3.5 Admin Console:Manage User:User: ardReset password: ardØ Still: User not found, when we try to connect from the Live Encoder.Modules/access:There is a libconnect.dllFMS 3.5 access log:session connect 2009-06-05 &n
Hello,I'm usig Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.0.1, it works fine, no major problems, when the internet between Media Encoder and Server stops, some times the stream doesn't start automatically.I have a problem with users(viewers) trying to connect to server. The server is connected to fiber optic internet at 100mbps and the stream is made in 500kbps with media encoder 2.5.When are 40-50 simultaneous viewers works fine, but when enter more viewers, for example, 200 simultaneous, nobody cam receive the stream good, it works frame by frame or flash player display "buffering", work 3 seconds and buffer 5 sec,and so on.HOW I CAN RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM??? I heard it is possible to connect milions of users simultaneous, how can i do that.I need more servers to connect each to each other? Could you send me a diagram how to do that???I need to increase the ram memory from server?( i have P4 dual core 3.0 Ghz, 6 Gb ram 800Mhz).I'm waiting for your answers!Thank you,Florin
Hi there~ I am new to fms and this forum. I have a got a problem for months but found no clue to solve. I made a swf which runs in browser. It simply plays a mp3, while recording the microphone via fms server (like other karaoke application). Afterwards, I mix the mp3 and record flv. The outcome is, initially, the voice and mp3 music are in sync. However, the voice is getting more & more lag behind the music. In the end of a 3-minute song, the lag is like 1 sec. I repeated this test in 5 computers from different locations, 2 of them get this problem, while the other 3 are completely "in sync". For testing client with positive result, the output flv is of nearly same duration as mp3 (within 30msec difference) For those with negative result (increasing lag), the output flv duration is longer than mp3 by 1sec or more. thank you in advance! ------------------ FMS server : FMS3 AS : AS2.0 Flash client: latest version 10.0.x.x Browser : IE6 or IE7 (seems the problem is independent
I used AS2 to recreate the shared ball example ( a simplified version) but the ball is really jerky. I've set so.setFps(60) and it's just as bad. The active client is only updated when the mouse stops (the ball simply follows the mouse in my version) and the receiving client is very jerky even with swf framerate set to 60fps! Any suggestions? Or is FMS just for video (I don't plan to recreate Youtube)? I am really disappointed and frustrated. Thanks for any suggestions
Hi All! I have installed the FMS 3.5 Server on a separate IP from our main Apache Server: The server is running Redhat Linux 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5FMS 3.5 running on ***.***.**.138 using ports 1935, 8080 (Admin Server using port 1111)Apache 2 running on ***.***.**.139 using port 80, 443. (several sites setup on this IP)However, when accessing the fms_adminConsole.htm in the root directory of one of the domains on ***.***.**.139, all login attempts fail. I am connecting to localhost and using the assigned user and password set up in fms.ini. Using either IP fails as well. The FMS server is set up to listen to all hosts as no specific IPs were set. /var/log/messages show that FMS and the Admin Server are up an running and listening:Jul 7 12:15:37 228215-web1 Service[28196]: Server starting...Jul 7 12:15:37 228215-web1 Service[28196]: Server started (/opt/adobe/fms/conf/Server.xml).Jul 7 12:15:37 228215-web1 Adaptor[28216]: Listener started ( _defaultRoot__edge1 ) : localho
