HiI installed the "Adobe Flash Media Development Server 3.5" and "Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3" and I want a LiveStreaming from my Webcam. Everythings works fine so far (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/beginner_live_fms3.html) but the problem is that i can only see the live stream, when I am into network.. over the internet acessing the server works but the live stream doesn't show up.Is this a limitation of the "Development Server" or a failure?thanks,pWAVE
Please excuse the newbie - we are using FMS 2.0. I need to patch the buffer overlfow vulnerabilities.. The doc that Abobe supplies with the patch/upgrade releases is confusing. The doc for the 2.0.1 recommends uninstalling 2.0 prior to the 2.0.1 installation. Upgrades 2.0.2 and up do not state this.. However, installing 2.0.5 specifically mentions patching v 2.0 vulerabilities, but does not mention uninstalling first OR that prior patches need be applied...And, finally version 2.0.2 - 2.0.5 do not mention is the patches are cumulative - are they? Can anyone shed some light on this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.Regards,John
HelloI am writing an app that track data/stats on multi FMS servers and that is working fine for my own custom server side functions. What I do is loop thru a list of IP of my FMS servers, call each IP and I also pass the IP to the server side function that get return and I can have my Responder object plug the returning data into an associate arrays (using IP as index) for reporting. Now my problem is when I used the Admin API.Here I was doing the same thing except I don't know the IP of the respnding FMS and I need to capture the data (into arrays etc). I had tried extending the Responder class so I can plug in the IP of the calling server but so far no good. I guess I need a way to know who is calling back - Any ideas. Thanks
[ UPDATED to include code and modified language after I discovered that everything works when I use Live Encoder.... ]Hello. So I've got the DVRCast application installed, and I am successfully streaming live-DVR content to the updated FLVPlayback component. I'm able to access the DVR-specific metadata (e.g. "currLen") without any trouble, and so forth. When I record with the Flash Live Encoder, everything works correctly; the seek bar fills in as more content is published, and the playhead advances slowly across the filled-in section of the seek bar.But when I do the publishing with a custom client instead of Flash Live Encoder, the seek bar doesn't work right. Specifically, when I start viewing a stream which is still being broadcast live, the seek bar shows the length of the stream at the moment I started viewing it; however, the seek bar doesn't update correctly as new content continues to be appended to the end of the stream. What happens instead is that the "playh
Hi,Hope this is the right group to post a question. We have a problem working with FMS 3.5 (installed on a IIS server).Configuration of the servers all based on IIS:webserver (authentification, xml data loaded by Flash app, data (on IIS) sended to and recieve from FMS).Seperate FMS 3.5 (latest update) server. Only running FMS (no other apps are running on this machine).Starting this project we tested the amount of connections (data flow, CPU, memory) by multiplying it with the aimed number of users (at least 500simultaneously). Now is seams that this is not the way to do this.Clients | CPU | Memory 10 2%
We are using FMS 2 for our website. We are trying to create a simple browser-based video chat application. We have set everything up and we set the options so that the application is allowed to use the maximum bandwidth available and deliver the highest quality and FPS possible. Despite all these optimizations FPS is like 1 frame per second! We know for sure that there is still unused bandwidth! Any ideas what would be the limiting factors decreasing the quality of live video and audio chat?
I compiled my server side application code and I use the the parameter -hrd.For more infomation about the FMS far tool see:http://livedocs.adobe.com/fms/2/docs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm?href=00000109.htmlHow can I retrieve headers specified using -hdr parameters? For example:far -compile -hdr name1:10 -hdr name2:20 main.ascThis command makes a binary file main.ase contents: name1, name2, 10 and 20.If I want retrieve these values in the server side code at run time, what instruction do must I insert?Thank you in advance.amsicora
Hello,if the Media Server records from a client's webcam, what uploading bitrate should the the clients have for 640x480, 15 fps, good quality video(small motion: human face, I would like to record the eyes movement). What codec is used for recording? (h264? or vp6) Or I can choose? Should be 768kbit/s without audio enough? Thanks,Peter
I'm finally getting the hang of the Dynamic Streaming of live video content via FMS 3.5.2 and FMLE, and to a lesser extent, the DVR functionality that has newly been made available.Inquiring minds want to know... is it possible to add DVR functionality to live Dynamically Streamed video content? In other words, I want to be able to provide DVR capability to our live videos that are being streamed at 3 different bitrates. Is that currently possible?Jodi, can you ask David Hassoun, who seems to be the leading authority at the moment, if this is possible, and if so, if there's a tutorial we can access? Thanks!
Hi everybody,i create in FMS 3.5 a new vhost and create a dedicated application folder. I read step by step every passage for creating and operating with a vhost but the Administration Console send a message:You are not logged into : vhostexamplePlease make a separate server connection to it for managing its application.Where is the right way to do.Thanks everybody for the help
Hello,Before I buy the Flash Media Server, i would like to know that:- is it possible to crop the webcam video (because I need just one part of the whole picture) before streaming from the client's Flash Player to the Media Server? (it would reduce the bandwidth a lot)- if not, can the player store some parts of video until it is fully streamed with all it's data (30 fps) to the Server? (e.g: client: low bandwidth, i need all frames that the webcam records, real-time doesn't matter if it takes 1 minutes for 20sec video, that would be ok.Thanks,Peter
Is there anyway that i could send a php command to unload a live stream? For instance i would like to click a logout button that would then tell the server that im logging off that live stream.. Any help here would be great!**EDIT**Here is what i have in my SWF file now..Stage.scaleMode = "exactFit"; var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); nc.connect("rtmp://MY.IP/live/"+ confid); var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);mycam = Camera.get(); mymic = Microphone.get(); myvid.attachVideo(mycam); mycam.setQuality(84500,0); mymic.setRate(11); ns.attachAudio(mymic); ns.attachVideo(mycam);ns.publish(+ uname);I am sending flashvars to fill in the variables. And this is actionscript 2 because i havent venture
Does anyone know if it's possible with any of the Adobe products to automate and manage streams? We've got a project that will be streaming pre-recorded video and music. Due to the number and frequency of these streams we need a way for us to automate and manage these through our own CMS system. We will be ultimately pushing these streams out to our CDN provider so no end user streaming actually required. For example :1. User logs into CMS2. Uploads Video/Music3. Schedules Date/Time for stream to startI'm sure this is something that has been done before but I'm struggling to see what we can use to do this.We really have too many streams going on to have someone load up some software and start the stream off manually.
We are trying to set up a DVR solution on live streaming using FMS 3.5, allowing the user to go back into the stream up to 24h before the current time.Does someone know what is the best approach to use the DVR functionality on a permanent live stream?Currently, the stream can only be recorded on a single file which is not a viable solution for a stream lasting for ever. Moreover, this file is lost each time FMLE has to be started again, thus losing all the previous recording period.Does someone know how to cut the recorded stream into several files (ideally having the same size)? That would allow us to avoid having files of unmanageable sizes and most of all be sure to have the last 24 hours even after a problem on FMLE.Thanx!
Using DW I created a simple flash slideshow. It works fine in test but when I move the page, photos and file to the production server, it does not show. The first time I tested it on the test server, a message came up and said it was installing something. I think the web server must also need this installed but I don't know what it was that DW installed. Can anyone tell me if there is a requirement I need to install on the production web server?
Hello,I read the documentation about scaling the server:http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_TechOverview/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d119ed944a1a-7ff3.htmlNow I am a bit worried because it says"Edge servers are a good solution for one-way video on demand (vod), one-way live events, and one-way live 24x7 streams. Edge servers enhance security, distribute the load of connection requests, and conserve bandwidth and system resources for high-volume one-way streaming."But I am planning interactive webcam streams for users from different locations. So I need something like a edge server, that also works for two-way connections. Is this not possible with the Flash Media Interactive Server? How can I make sure, that a large number of clients from different locations (e.g. Europe and Asia) have fast access to the server? Thanks,Thomas
hai all,how can i mute microphone using AS3?
I have a couple of lessons that I have created in Flash CS3 for Flash Player 9 with AS3.In the main timeline of the lessons I have an flvplayback component setup to connect to our instance of Akamai's flash ondemand application to stream down several videos.I have a customer who is behind a client side proxy server that is having an issue where the first 10-15 seconds of the any video plays then the video drops out and it appears that the flash player attempts to make a connection on another port which causes multiple audio streams to play but the video never comes back. From the network sniffer read out that their IT send me it appears that the flash player initially attempts to get out on port 80 then attempts port 1935 then attempts 443.Can anyone tell me if there is anyway to stop the flvplayback component from attempting multiple connections?Or does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening?I created a stripped out application that just has a flvplayback component in it a
Hi All, Is there a way to configure echo cancellation with FMIS for a live audio/video chat application? if not, does anyone know how to accomplish this? We are using both Flash encoder and FMIS which are otherwise working perfectly. Thanks Sam
I was just wondering whether or not actionscript cuepoints created via the default cuepointManager on a FMS stream be seen by other clients viewing the same video? For example if I were to do this: (where vidVideo is an instance of VideoDisplay in flex 3)vidVideo.cuePointManager.removeAllCuePoints();var cuePointArr:Array = new Array();cuePointArr.push({name:"stopClip", cuePointTime, type:"actionscript"});vidVideo.cuePoints = cuePointArr;Will other clients viewing the same video be affected by these cue points? or are Actionscript cue points maintained only on that stream?
Hey guys,I am trying to work out if FMS is the solution I am looking for. I am trying to create a system that will store data, and upload it to a database when the user leaves the page. I thought the best way to achieve this would be to send a data object to the media server, check on an interval to see if the user is still active and then somehow upload the data when their "session" times out.If this possible with FMS, or is there a better, more efficient solution? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi,Is there any kind of method with any other programming langauge like php to merge multiple flv files to one so that they will stream as a single file with out any between them gap.Thank you
hello,I am looking for a instant messages server only, no media....is there any server.....Thankx.
Hi... I'm new to this venue and although I have been involved in video and have my own server I am green at this issue.I have a site up called: http://www.internet-spokesmodels.com that I server from my server and my clients only have a couple lines ofcode on their site. From time to time I get complaints that the video is breaking up upon playing.I am streaming it now and have a short load delay but I don't want it to take more time to load or the visitors may leave.I was told that there are two ways to stream: Flash Communication Server or Flash Video Streaming Services. Can the Flash Communication server be added to an existing server and really how much will it help? What would you do if it was your business with limited funds? Thanks for your help.Best Regards, Earle W.
