Hi to you all, you great flashers...(i know abit over the top) Any one knows how to trigger on stream.publish.start & unpublish on the serverside?? Right now I'm triggering a server function by stream.publish.start on the client wich seams a bit stupid as the stream.publish.start comes from the server.... Thx again for any pointers to the right direction /A
I've got a streaming video/audio app(CHAT). and everything is working nicely. I'm going to add a snapshot function to it and i'd love some pointers. There will be approx 100users, each user will have the options of taking snapshots either single shots or a few automated ones...I'm using FMS2 1. Are there any know issues recording parts of a live stream while it's streaming? 2. Should I use the same NC and record the FLV file/ CHAT instance then do a FLV -> FFMPEG -> jpg? 3. Should I make a new NC (and stop the live stream) to a different app(snapshot) and do the FLV->jpg there And if you have any other good advice please let me know BR /A
I was finally able to get fms running and streaming to a flash client on the same workstation yesterday. Now I'm trying to connect to that workstation from another flash client on another workstation but I'm not able to make any connection. Here's the code.. var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); nc.connect("rtmp://192.168.20.117/video_tutorial"); I've also tried nc.connect("rtmp://192.168.20.117:1935/video_tutorial"); but I keep getting the status message "NetConnection.Connect.Failed". The ip is the machine that has fms setup and running and both workstations are on the same network. I can ping the 117 machine but I can't connect via flash. Is there something else I need to do to get my client to connect to that? Thanks.
My application is called NMarts. Inside the application directory is a folder called _definst_ where my videos are stored. What path do I use to connect to the flv? ie rmtp://random.net/NMarts/.... Thanks
I've had a developer do some work on a FMS app and it has dragged on for a couple of months. All he had to do was install FMS on his server and record a flv from a webcam via the internet, with an interface so that you could see the webcam shot and then play back the recorded video. How long should this take in development hours?
Hello, I just purchased flash media server 2.0 and flash CS3. Id like to build an app that allows a user to record a video using their webcam and upload it to the server, and in turn stream / display the video on the web server. So far this is where I'm at. I installed FMS and created a FLA that opens the users web cam and displays the video. The code is pretty basic: // Declare Video instance on the stage var vid:Video; // Create a reference to the user's camera var userCam:Camera = Camera.get(); // Attach the camera output to the Video instance vid.attachVideo(userCam); From here, how do I save the video as a FLV and upload it to the server? I am used to using FFMPEG - will I need this or should I use the new Flash Encoder? I am running FMS on IIS 7.0 on the same box as my ASP.NET and IIS web server. Will I need to do any tricky configuration with IIS to allow them to run in parallel? Also, when i open the "FMS2_Console" and try to connect I get an error. The login screen has
Hi, We are having issues with RTMP as some areas have firewalls up and cannot view FLV files streamed through RTMP. How do I setup Flash Media Server to use RTMPT? I tried just changing rtmp to RTMPT, but Dreamweaver kicks it out and reverts to RTMP, so I assume there are some additional steps needed to be taken? I'm using Flash Media Server 2 with Dreamweaver CS3 cheers Cheers
i designed flash chat application but its not working as per the tutorial , is there any 1 who have the fla file of chat application and detail information of to configure with server on net or local machine
Hi, I'm trying to find an example on how FMS2 calls a PHP script with loadvars.sendAndLoad. I'm trying to trigger that event when a users(clients) stream is published from the FMS2. Does anyone have a working example on a call to a PHP script or a tutorial. Thanks /A
How can I get real time stats from my FMS current connected users in windows 2003? By wmi, VBScript, ...? Many thanks, João Canais

Hi all, I've been trying to get my FMS server to stream to a FLVPlayback component and have had no luck. I have seen numerous posts on this subject in this forum and others, but a lot of it seems related to the older FCS and Flash 8/Actionscript 2.0 so maybe I'm not doing something right for Flash CS3/AS3.0. Here's what I've got, using the examples from http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/fl/video/FLVPlayback.html#includeExamplesSummary. I have a file named FLVPlaybackExample.fla, on the stage is a FLVPlayback component instance named "player". The Document class is set to "FLVPlaybackExample". There is a file named FLVPlayback.as in the same directory with the following code: package { import fl.video.FLVPlayback; import flash.display.Sprite; public class FLVPlaybackExample extends Sprite { // private var videoPath:String = " http://www-app6.wa.gov/disit/dev/flash/1.flv"; private var videoPath:String = "rtmp://flash.wa.gov/FLVPlaybackExample/1";
We have a number of flvs that have given us trouble and from what everyone has told me, it's due to the fact that we're using progressive download. I downloaded and installed the developer's media server to try and test these files to make sure it would fix it. But, now that it's installed, I'm not sure what the next step would be. I've looked around adobe's site trying to find docs on how to use the media server but so far I haven't been able to find any. Can someone point me toward documentation on how to use it to stream flvs so I can test our configuration? Thanks.
I'm curious to know if anyone has deployed Flash Media Server on a Ubuntu server (Server Edition 7.04). I know the supported linux platform is for the Red Hat flavor, but I'm curious to know if it will work on Ubuntu too. Please advise.

Hi! I would like to make some "ping's" to some PC's. My idea is to using XML + FLASH. I using normaly the Command Line (CMD) to see that my computers are connect correctly in my house. Hello Has anyone managed to realize a full screen capture using camtasia or any other means with flash media server. I would very much appreciate any answer. Thanks
Hi, Any information here would be grateful as I'm pulling my hair out at this issue. I have 7 FLV files all running on Flash Media server 2. 6 of them are streaming fine with no issues. The 7th FLV file plays fine for 4 seconds and then stops and goes back to the start. Running the FLV file in Adobe Media player shows that it plays fully....but not when streamed. Flash Media server detects the connection and there are no reported errors, nor are there any packet issues on the network, as I have placed a sniffer on the line to monitor any possoble errors. All 7 files were encoded exactly the same in Flash Media Encoder. I can't figure this one out. Any help would be grateful
I just set up my FMS and got streaming video working. But I met a flv size problem. A 1.5M flv file can working well but 23M flv file can not working. Did anyone meet the same problem? How can I fix it? Thanks.
Flash works with all USB web cameras - but what are the limitations (if any) on using a s-video or RGB connector on a graphics card so a camera with enough quality for H.264 streaming can be used? Does Flash recognise them? As the encoding will be greater than before, what spec. will the computer need to accomplish this?
