Well, Adobe is taking a while to give us the 18.3 update. Three days still waiting. Since then, Upgraded to Ventura, hoping that would spur an Indesign update. No indication that a new update is soon. Creative cloud shows up to date on version 18.2.1. Sincerely, not impressed.

Steve, I appreciate your post, however, my original post was about ther Mac FINDER in column view. below is the screen shot. I dont want to have to view everything in gallery view or bridge. My point was the LIST view in the mac finder used to show the preview. This is the work format I use and it was very convenient to look down a list of names in a folder and if you had similar versions of something, the preview would help identify what you were looking for. It's a very simple request to Adobe, as it used to work just fine. I'm sure there are other designers who would agree with me. Let's hear from the designers...

the preview is not working in the mac finder. Several posts about this and nothing is being said about it from Adobe that I can see. Adobe, please fix this issue. Say something at least. See what your fellow designers are saying about this bug.

Unfornunately I posted a fix earlier on this post. I had success for almost one whole week! then previews failed to show again. I rebuilt and reinstalled my font library and vault to eliminate the finger pointing. When I talked with Font's Connect, they assured me it wasnt their problem. Back to mediocracy again in the service departments and what to expect out of our software. ...Oh what's that? Did I hear Quark calling?

SOLVED! Adobe has fixed this finally. Version 18.2.1. I just noticed it working now. Older documents that did not have a preview need to be opened and resaved. At lease that is what I have experienced.

More research. I found this I ran several tests and have discovered if the ducument has a live font, it will not show a preview. I started with removing old preference files, then created a new document with only graphics. Saved file and preview shows. Next created a new doc and added live text. Saved doc and NO PREVIEW. Created a new doc, added live text, but outlined the fonts and (changed them to curves). Saved the doc and preview works. Then opened the same doc with a working preview, added live text. saved doc. and no preview. So after spending time on APPLE support because i found Adobe claimed it was an Apple Issue, I ran these tests and it is clearly an ADOBE ISSUE. I encourage you all to reproduce these tests yourself and let Adobe know about it and maybe they will get it fixed for us all.

Idecook, I just figured out the fix. Not sure if it is an apple or adobe issue? I run three monitors and I have this happen once in a while and it takes some figuring. Open a new doc in photoshop. Go to window and uncheck application frame. Resize your floating window small and center it in your window space. Go back to Window and check application frame. move your floating doc to the upper left area but done let it snap into the application frame. Hold the option key and click the green dot on your floating window. This shifts the application frame to where you can see the three dots. now you can click the green dot on the application frame and then re-size to fit. It worked for me. In my case I moved the dock to one of my larger monitors, then dragged the photoshop application frame to the same monitor, then I quit photoshop. Relaunched and all things are where they should be. My desktop apps are now having problems with flashing like a busy traffic light that is blinking. It acts as if it is trying to load. the four applications noted above on this post are all having the same issue. I have searched other postings but found only one answer and that answer was re-posted as not solved. So I am starting this post. This is very odd behavior. Please fix or suggest. Try opening the document from within the application (File>open> doc) Then do (save as) and use a different name. Also you might check for spaces in the file names and/or folders Ben

good luck with that. Who knows. You could probably have 100 different files and a handful not behaving themselves. Then if you hold your tongue right and the moon is full at precisely 2:03 AM, (only on the 2nd Saturday of the month) the file might open for you.
