Premiere Elements

I am using Premiere Elements 9 and I am wondering how to export my video to .mp4 format without losing the resolution? (I don't mean .mpg)According to: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/862/cpsid_86248.html, I should be able to but no luck here. Thanks in advance!

MJPEG (Motion JPEG) compression has been around for quite a while, but there has been a resurgence recently, when Nikon and a few others began shooting motion with their DSLR and other still cameras.Some systems have MJPEG CODEC’s installed already, and some NLE programs also include them with installation. Many camera mfgrs. will include one (often tweaked to their specs.) on their utilities disc. One might be installing it along with the driver for the camera, or perhaps with the installation of the utilities on that disc. The latter is becoming more popular with camera mfgrs., but a separate installation for the particular CODEC would be a better solution. That seems to be falling out of favor, amongst camera mfgrs. though.If one is getting the “Unsupported Format/CODEC” message, it could well be that their system does not have an MJPEG CODEC installed, or the version that they do have is not matched to the one used by their camera, or it could be that their NLE (Non Linear Editor)

I'm trying to export (into a file, ultimately to a disc) a one-minute extract of a 10-minute video in my timeline.  In earlier versions of PE i simply went to File>export and picked one of several options (movie etc).  In PE 10 (which I'm using on the Mac) the Export option is greyed out.Any idea how I can activate it?Thanks.

Hi,I experience very big file size difference rendering to avi or mp4.I always believed avi files would be smaller than mp4 my adobe premiere 10  gives other result. Am I doing something wrong here? And what are the pros and cons to avi or mp4?Thanks for replying,Koen

Ann Bens, on the CS4 forum, posted this LINK to a possible solution for working with MOD & TOD files. Might be of use, if you have a JVC (could work with some other, similar cameras) and want to work with these files in any flavor of Premiere. As I do not shoot to MOD, or TOD, I have not tried it, and cannot vouch for how well it works.Good luck,Hunt

Many people run low on System Resources, while editing. Often, this is because they have a lot of other programs and Processes loaded, running and sapping their Resources. Here is how I handle these programs and Processes, to get the most out of my computers.The first thing that I do, before I do any editing, is clean out my system, using MSCONFIG to eliminate all unnecessary programs and Processes at boot. These are things like MS Messenger, iTunes Helper, Bonjour Services (I do need this for one progarm on my laptop, so I keep it there), and the like. What is Windows Indexing, how do I use it, and why might it be getting in the way, when I am doing Video editing?Well, most versions of Windows has a feature, called Windows Indexing. This is a little application that roams your system, looking for files, that it can Index, so that Searches are quicker. For many computers, it causes no problems, as it goes about looking at your DOC, and TXT files, compiling indexes to speed up Searches, especially for content. When it’s working, it’s behind the scenes, and usually causes no problems. When a DOC or TXT file changes, or is created, it will Lock that file, while it searches through its content for future Searching.Now, when one is doing Video editing, they are working with some large files. Windows Indexing cannot glean anything from the AV files, or from the various working files, that an NLE (Non Linear Editor) creates, and updates constantly. I am helping a youth do a project in premiere elements. We are having computer trouble, and are needing to move the project to another computer. I am not sure how to do this, as there are lots of files. Is there a simple way to transport a project to another computer? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. MKH

I shot a birthday video of the neighbors 5 year old with my Canon T2i camera.  Had to turn the camera on its side to get everything in the shot.  I can view the video right side up in the canon software but can not make the change permanent so the neighbor can watch it on his computer.  Can I rotate the video 90 degrees in premiere and make it permanent?  If not, where do I go?ThanksCliff chitch7@yahoo.com

I will confine my editorializing to "Deja vu, all over again" and describe the Premiere Elements 9 problem that sounds like I was reliving the release of Premiere Elements 8.I downloaded and installed Premiere Elements 9 tryout, and it worked great for about 7 days. With no changes in the computer environment, suddenly when Premiere Elements 9 was loading a new project, it would stop at PlayerMediaCore.prm and pop up a message:"We have detected an incompatible driver. To get a better and faster playback performance, please update your display driver. Display driver details: NVIDIA Corporation GeForce....." and it went on to fully name my video card driver. When I clicked on OK, the program continued to load completely and opened to the workspace where the Edit Mode Monitor performance was, best described as, wacky....Timeline content that would not present in the Edit Mode Monitor, Preview Windows that froze in the Edit Mode Monitor, etc. And, Edit Mode Full Screen Previews did not wor

It is based on PrPro CS4, but much will apply directly to PrE.While Premiere can down-rez HD to SD, the results are not the best. I'm having a bit of a problem getting my mts/avchd files to work with PE9. I imported the files using the organiser, and they play fine (video AND audio) from the organiser, but when I import the clips into PE9, only video is imported. There's no audio track and (logically?) no audio to be heard. How do I fix this?Mind, these .mts files play fine in both the organiser AND windows 7. They're created on a Canon HF100 camcorder.

Hello PRE8 users,If you have an Nvidia-based graphics chipset, and you've updated to Nvidia driver version 195.81 or later and you're still experiencing frequent crashes and freezes in Premiere Elements 8, then we'd like to hear from you in this thread. As mentioned in the announcement at the top of this forum, we believe most of these issues are caused by a problem with an Nvidia driver that was released after PRE8 was developed, and that the issues should be resolved by updating to Nvidia driver version 195.81 or later. Hello all For a long time, I was looking for a programm to cut my AVCHD clips taken with a Canon HF100 camera. In the past I used for DV videos Adobe Production Studio (Premiere CS2, Encore CS2). I have tried AVCHD with AVCHDUpshift to convert the AVCHD clips to MPEG clips and cut it with Premiere CS2. The final video I have tried to burn with NERO 8. But this is very cumbersome. I recently saw, that Adobe has released the Premiere Elements 7 with AVCHD support. Because of the many negative posts of Pinnacle Studio 12, I expected better stability and performance from Adobe Premiere Elements 7. I gave it a try. Installation was OK. I tried to add about 50 clips to the AVCHD project -> takes a long time but OK. Playback quality of the clips is very bad. Video quality is bad (blurry), audio quality even worse (2 seconds you can hear sound, 2 seconds no sound, 2 seconds sound, 2 seconds no sound ....). Hi everyone, I was having enormous difficulties with Premiere Elements 4 so I bought version 7 as it listed mod files as a supported type. Well at least PE 7 is actually seeing the mod files and easily importing them. Unfortunately each file ends up with its own unique error - mostly green pixels showing up in the image randomly or even faces or images from other files suddenly appearing in the middle of a different file. My project will only go for about 35 mins but it is being created from 3.5 hours of footage. Is anyone else having these sort of issues? Is it just to do with the dreaded mod file, or have other people experienced it in other situations? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Stuart

Premiere Elements 8 First Look: Part 1.Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 8 are now installed on my Windows XP SP3 with about available 1 GB RAM and 70 GB free hard drive space and the virtual memory controlled by the operating system…not great for a heavy duty project, but adequate to overview the programs.1. Download & Installation. Both programs took about 3 ½ hours to download, using high speed DSL. Premiere Elements 8 downloaded and installed without problems. Installation went much quicker. But, Photoshop Elements 8 download did present challenges, first, it kept downloading Premiere Elements 8 instead of Photoshop Elements 8. Finally in the early hours of the morning, the download from the Adobe site was named Photoshop Elements 8. Great, except, once downloaded it would not launch. The launcher did not know what to do with the .7z  file. Download and use of WinZip took care of that. My default browser Mozilla Firefox was worthless for the download of either Pho
