Hi guys, i'll buy a new graphic card for my workstation hp Z200 on win7 pro 64bit. I have some trouble reading 4K footage. Actually, I got a geforce GTX470 with 1280MB RAM...I don't know if it's better to buy a Quadro K2200 with 4GB RAM but 640 Cuda Cores or if the GTX780 with 3GB RAM but 2304 Cuda Cores...I know Geforce is more for gamers and Quadro for professionnal use but what about specifications ? I just want to throw the computer and Premiere out of the window. I'm so frustrated that I want to stop doing video work for good! Once a year I have to edit large instructional DVDs for a dance camp. This year I'm having major issues that kill my life and my health. I have spent more than 3 weeks on that issue without any result.Problem: When I export a section of the Premiere timeline the kernel graphics card driver crashes. About 1 to 10 minutes into exports (direct export, no queued AME) the screen goes black and Windows reports a NVidia driver kernel error. The driver is recovered and Premiere hangs. This only happens on CUDA export not with the software option of Mercury. The error is not related to a certain clip or portion of it. If it crashes on a certain clip and I restart Premiere this clip will be rendered fine the next time. The crashes happen always after a certain but varying time somewhere during the rendering.Since the source material is 2K I need to scale it for DVD o

What is the best PC hardware for video editing in Premiere pro ?

Hello, I'm slightly frustrated. I'm using an aging Mac Pro currently and I'm planning to build a custom made workstation to replace it. Since I've began using some Windows Only applications in my workflow Mac isn't in the picture right now.As of right now Intel has two types of i7 based CPU's on the market utilizing the 2011 V2 chipset. Quad Core CPU's that have excellent single thread performance and marginal relative multithreading performance and 6 and 8 core CPU's that offer better multi threading support but lack the single thread performance the quad cores achieve.I'm trying to figure out what configuration would be better for Premiere Pro and After Effects with my workflow which is mostly 2k footage but I'm beginning to use 5k and 6k downscaled.  My current Mac pro (a 2010 6 Core unit) has trouble running more than one 2k stream even when utilizing ram preview and SSD swap storage. the 680 has well over 1500 cuda cores, while the Quadro has 256 per.  Im not very hip to the new video in computers but do understand that the purposes of these cards are very different. Would it be better to buy a Quadro or a gtx 680? going in to a  SR-X mobo w/48 gb ram and  4( by 4) HDD arrays on independant sas raid cards.Im building a new system cuz my SR-2 isnt cutting it, keeps crashing after adding the second raid card to it.thanks in advance.

HiI have a nice system at my homeoffice, but now I need a laptop too, for when I´m working at another office in town. The initial video file was about 1Gb, I needed to cut it and add audio to it. I tried exporting with DV PAL encoding, there was about 15Gb of free space on the hard drive. It took a long time to export and somewhere at 90% it showed the message that free space on the drive was out. I closed Premiere, the target directory where encoded AVI should be exported was empty. The search by name doesn't find anything. Disk cleanup freed only 5Gb. Could you please tell me what the directory where Premiere store a temporary files while Encoding Sequence.THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hey everyone! Simply put I'm wondering how to optimize my hard drive setup for After Effects. I'm not sure if the answer to this changes between AE versions so let's just look at CS5.5 and CS6.My setup:i7-3930k OC'd to 4.5GHz48GB of RAM (1866 999 24)EVGA GTX 770 4GB Classified120GB SATA II SSD for C drive (OS and programs, nothing else. Not even games)240GB SATA III SSD for scratch files (50GB reserved) and output500GB HDD (7200RPM) for media files (Primarily AVCHD)3TB of external backup (not used while editing)My system already runs pretty quick for what I do, but if upgrading my Sata II SSD or replacing my HDD with an SSD would give me another significant boost in speed then I'm all for it. I doubt it'd be anywhere near as much of an increase as my last two upgrades though. The GTX 770 gave me a 3.5x render speed boost for my 3D projects and going from 16GB to 48GB of RAM gave me 5.5x ram preview speed boost.
