Hi, I'm looking to replace some of our editing systems and wondering if anyone has used/purchased 3XS Video Editing PC's from Scan.co.uk - Looking at the Higher end Ryzen and Threadripper CPU's for two of our PC's. Both suites are used for Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects with some Davinci Resolve work. Are the Thunderbolt 3.0 options reliable enough? Not providing exact specifications as really just looking for advice/reviews of these systems if someone has purchased previously. Thanks!
Hi Adobe Forums,I am trying to determine if there is a bottleneck in my video editing system setup - focusing on external hard drive setup. Nothing seems to be overly slow, but it is always best to prevent/solve a bottleneck for maximum performance when exporting video. I would like to know how to test for a bottleneck and learn how to prevent future bottlenecks in other systems. Is there a way to determine the read/write speeds that Adobe Premiere Pro needs when utilizing multiple external HDDs and SDDs? Perhaps some kind of monitoring program similar to Mac's "Activity Monitor" that shows CPU and memory usage percentage (which visually shows CPU and/or memory getting bottlenecked or not)? Or perhaps knowing necessary read/write speeds based on source material and/or the specs of the video being exported? I can provide full system specifications upon request (I am using a Mac), but I am looking for more general guidelines on how to determine bottlenecks as it relates to read/write spe
Hi all. Who can tell me if there will be a big difference in performance when working with 4k video in adobe premier?

I have a laptop, I can't put 3 physical SSD's. I have 1 SSD nvme and 1 SSD sata iii. I've created two partitions on nvme = (B:) and (C:). (B:) for disk cache, (C:) for OS and apps; the SSD SATA III is (D:) for project files, footage, etc. What do you think about it? It's ok?I have a laptop, I can't put 3 physical SSD's
I build my current PC back in 2013 with a 6 core CPU and a GTX 680. It works pretty well with 1080 raw footage but as the new versions of Premiere Pro (2020) came in I was having trouble. It didn't like my graphics card so I stayed with the 2019 version. Previously when I would Export my video to MP4 files my GTX 680 did little or nothing. Now I am using the larest version PP (2021) and not only is there no problem with my old graphics card but when I Export to MP4 my GTX 680 is running hard and up to 100%. The Export time is about half of what it was. Is Premiere Pro finally using the GPU as it should have been all along?
I am so sorry if this has been asked before. I am and editor not a computer guru so I need some help please. I have been editing on 12.1.2. I now need to upgrade for a 4K project and I have no idea if I have to upgrade my processor and my card or just my card. Current specs are ADM FX(tm) - 6100 Six-Core Processor 3.30GHZ, 32 Ram, 64-bit, Quadro 4000 video card. Can someone give me recommendation that don't break the bank in order for me to upgrade to the latest 15.0 Adobe Premiere Pro? Thank you so much for your time and answers.
Hello World,I recently picked up an R.A.T. 9 mouse hoping the thumbscroller and other shortcut buttons would make for easier timeline navigation but alas it doesnt respond. Most likely because as it works out Mad-Catz dont offer the customisation software for the R.A.T. 9 - but do other models. I tried these softwares but they dont work. At all! So I ask the Community what computer mice - and keyboard as we're at it (see below) - they have great results with please. Links absolutley welcome. Re: Keyboard - I currently have a RedDragon backlit really quiet (for nightime work) which is great but doesnt have a button for [\] which would of course show the entire timeline so instead I have to get the mouse, scroll and double click the grey bars. I've watched several YouTube reviews but I'd much rather recommendations from Premiere users first hand please. Thanks loads in advance,Lu
I'm leaning towards Audio Technica ATH m50x since it's hyped and I've seen some popular music producer artist use them, but some have said that it's not the best for editing. It was said that it's not the best for wide sound stage separation especially when the ATH m50x can over power the music on top of a voice over. Thus, you'll not have a proper mix of audio... We travel a lot and ATH m50x is portable with a detachable cable. But also I'm not opposed to ddt770 80hms at least.
Hello,I am working on Premier Pro on a Mac book Air and I want to know the best external hardrive to use for real time video editingThanks
Hello, I have a huge video library of almost 500TB to transcode from/to multi-video formats 4K and FHD, for example :(MPEG-4,MPEG, DivX, MXF)Which path to go nowadays, Mac or PC, server or workstation, to use adobe media encoder at its best and maximize the transcoding speed.also what the best GPU ATM for that task?
Hi - wondeirng if there is any information out there about using a custom NAS setup with PC components, OS Linux and drives formatted extFS for editing with iMac Premiere Pro? I'm looking to set up a custom server for a documentary project and considering the options. One option is to use a working PC and install Linux, reformat the drives extFS and serve content. My query is - will this affect the editor? Is there latency issues with Premiere pro and Linux drives? This should enable the use of larger capacity drives - like 8TB+Other option is to frankenstein an old Mac Pro, obviously this will integrate much more smoothly, yet wont enable the use of larger capacity drives. Rather than buying an off the shelf NAS, we are customising one for increased functionality and performance.Any advice and insight very welcome.
Hallo, wie kann ich Premiere Pro auf meinem Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ installieren? Mehr al genug Power und ein großes Display hat es.
Hi everyone. I need to purchase a new setup for editing on the go/in the field. I'd like to keep everything Mac as that's what I'm most familiar with. Is there a configuration on a MacBook Pro that anyone thinks is best? In addition, I'd like to get an additional monitor and since a desktop isn't practical for my needs was thinking of an iPad. Could someone offer any advice as to what would be best for running premier and being able to edit in the field. I just want to make sure I'm making the right purchase and figured you guys would know best. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi everyone-I am looking to upgrade to a Mac Mini 16gb Ram 256 ssd for video editing but am not sure if that is the best choice. I usually shoot in 4k or 1080hd. I am currently operating from a surface book 2 8gb ram. The video playback is laggy on the Surface and I am looking for something that isn't crazy expensive but can get the job done effortlessly without any issues... any advice would be so helpful!!
Hello, I'm new to Premiere Pro and am editing zoom event videos that are as long as 8 hours. You're wondering who does 8-HOUR-LONG ZOOMS? - university conferences! I am getting a new laptop from work and want to know if this is a good choice for this purpose. I actually spend the majority of my work time in Photoshop, but I assume that a laptop that's good enough for Premiere Pro will be good enough for Photoshop - is that right? Here are the specs: HP ZBook Studio G7 Mobile WorkstationCore i9 10885H / 2.4 GHz32 GB RAMQuadro T2000 / UHD Graphics (I do not see this GPU on Adobe's recommanded list) Thank you for your help! 🙂
Hello Harm,I have a question Re tx speed in premiere pro... we have 2x offline video editing suites with beefed up 2010 12 core MacPro's - we do long form docu projects which typically run over several years of media acquisition ... the latest being a 4K project which I make HD proxy's for so we are editing in HD. I have a 64TB Raid 5 box with Areca sas card which runs wonderfully well and so far have had no need to rebuild off the back of a faulty drive. My question relates to something that I tried out the other day for fun more than anything else, I linked the project media to a usb backup drive plugged in to the original USB port on the front of the MacPro fully expecting to have all sorts of trouble with transfer speeds etc and to my utter dismay the media in long complex sequences all played perfectly at usb 30mbts tx speed.. I have a metal gfx card and running OS Mojave... now I'm scratching my head wondering why I need the super expensive high speed Areca system when I could pu
I am looking at moving over to a MAC Mini M1 and am concerned regarding the use of Adobe CC on the device, I am currently on a PC i5 and have read about compatability issues regarding certain programs on CC not being to be used on a Mac using an M1 can anyone shed some light on this and what is the Rosetta 2 and how does this impact on the known issues and functionality of using CC on a mac _
Hello all! I am starting my career with Premiere Pro and as some may know, the GPU supply chain is all sorts of wacky. I was wondering if I could use Intel INTEGRATED HD Graphics to edit video? The top I'll be doing is 1080p 30fps. Thanks in advance!
Is there any one here using the 8-core MBP as both a desktop and mobile workstation? Is it reliable enough to replace my 2013 Cylindar 6-core?I just cant afford the 7k it take to get a new MacPro. So i thought about a 2.4ghz (8-Core) , 64gb ram MBP. I have 2 screens and 2 external drives one is a 4-bay 2.5 ssds. it would be 70% desktop running 12-14hrs a day and 30% mobile unit.I have heard that the MBP gets hot as a desktop with more than 1 additional screen and that in general it runs hot in editing on its existing screen. its geekbench single core score is about 280 points higher than my current machine. Any small tips would help.
Hi guys, I'm switching from 2080s to 3090.Is it possible to use both gpu to improve rendering and playback performance?2080s in egpu or pci? Has anyone had any experiences?Thank you
I am looking by an iMac for using premier pro, however I am wondering if the following spcs will help me with the edit process:Display21.5-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display1920‑by‑1080 resolution with support for millions of colours2.3GHz dual‑core Intel Core i58GB of 2133MHz DDR4 memoryIntel Iris Plus Graphics 640
I currently have a 1 Tb HDD at 7200rpm where premiere is currently installed on, and a 3 Tb HDD at 5400rpm, but I'm thinking of getting a 2Tb SATA SSD for premiere instead. Should I use said SSD as a main drive for basic programs, including premiere pro, and the 3Tb HDD as raw and rendered video storage, or should I get a lower capacity SSD and use it as a scratch disk instead?
Designing a new system using the Puget Pr 4K design. The Puget design call for the Intel Core i9-9900K 8 Core processor but it was suggested by a forum contributor that I wait for the yet to be available Intel Core I10-9900K 10 Core processor. I used the Puget Systems email support to see if they would be offering the new processor in their 4K system. The answer was that their testing showed that the older 8 core processor was better for 4K work than the newer 10 core processor. Can anyone comment?
