Is 24gb of unified memory with 512gb ssd in macbook pro sufficient to run after effects and premier pro??
I'm researching to upgrade an edit system. Going PC is not an option, and I am focused on finding a solid mac platform for HD and 4K editing. While Apple is getting ready to release an iMac Pro and new Mac Pro later this year, no specs are available. The best stop gap measure I can come up with is to explore purchasing the currently available 27-inch iMac. Sadly, the GPU (Radeon Pro 580) offering is not listed here: Adobe Premiere Pro System RequirementsDoes anyone have personal experience with this GPU and Premiere?Or Adobe can you chime in? Has this GPU undergone any performance testing? Thanks!Lindsay[Moved from the non-technical LOUNGE Forum to the Hardware forum...
I've watched the Storage Optimization video from Puget Systems and their subsequent article. I have been thinking about upgrading my storage to something more optimal for editing. One of which is having an SSD dedicated to Media Cache and Scratch. The only thing I am not sure of is how big of an SSD I need for Media Cache and Scratch. Is 250GB enough? 500GB? Puget Systems did their testing with a 1TB drive, but that seems like it may be overkill? Thanks.
Hello Adobe Premiere Pro Community, I’m currently using an Intel Evo laptop for video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and wanted to reach out to see if anyone else has experienced any compatibility issues or challenges.Intel Evo laptops are known for their advanced performance and battery efficiency, but I’m curious if there are any specific issues related to running Adobe Premiere Pro on these devices. Here are a few points I’m particularly interested in:Have you encountered any performance problems, such as lagging, crashing, or slow rendering times, while using Premiere Pro on Intel Evo laptops? Are there any known compatibility issues between Premiere Pro and the hardware or software components of Intel Evo laptops?Have you experienced any conflicts with drivers or other software that affect Premiere Pro’s functionality on Intel Evo laptops? Are there any recent updates or fixes from Adobe or Intel that address compatibility issues between Premiere Pro and Intel Evo laptops? If y
I was hoping someone might be able to help. I've just upgraded the GPU in my media PC from an RTX 2060 to a 4080 Super. I now seem to be getting worse performance in Premiere Pro during editing playback, especially during any transition effects. I'm about to move up from my very old SC5 to the current. It's a huge jump, so I'de appreciate any help in reviewing the specs of the hardware I'm about to buy. I'm not looking for a high-end work-station. Simply a comp that will smoothly run average (non-commercial) Premiere + AfterEffects. Nothing 4k (full HD at the most). Here are the specs:CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F 20MBMobo: Asus Prime H610M-A 1700GPU: Asus Dual GeForce RTX 3060 V2 12GB GDDR6RAM: Kingston 2x16GB 3200MHz DDR4, or should I go for 64GB?PSU: Is 650W enough, or too much?SSD: Is Kingston NV2 NVMe PCIe good enough for read/write when rendering? I'll be grateful for any suggestions.

Here’s the question) What kind of video card is needed for the interface to at least work correctly and to be able to work with effects. Or will any video card not provide comfortable operation without a kernel update?
I have a SATA SSD and a SATA/USB adaptor.Advisable to use it via USB3.0 for scratch disk in AE/PPro - or is it perhaps better used as a drive for projects, as the projects are currently on the same NVME (faster) drive as OS/Apps.PS missing that tweakers page from way back
I just upgraded to a Mac Studio M2 Ultra, 24‑core CPU, 76‑core GPU, 192GB memory.I've allocated 168GB to Adobe apps, enabled Multi-Frame Rendering, set large disk caches for Premiere and AE, and am using Mercury GPU Acceleration. I would expect exports and preview renders to be blazing fast, and while it's definitely faster than my humble Macbook Pro... it's leaving plenty to be desired. But I noticed that while exporting, the computer remained fully responsive and I could use other apps with ease – even exporting a second video from another app simultaneously without any freezes. So I checked Activity Monitor during a Premiere export and saw that Premiere was only using 123% CPU and 25% GPU, and aerendercore was only using 318% CPU. Overall CPU load was:System: 7.45%User: 23.64%Idle: 68.91% What gives? How can I get the Adobe suite to stop leaving so much horsepower on the table?
I'm looking to upgrade from my 2019 Intel MBP (64GB, 2TB - choking and crashing with Premiere 2024) to either a Mac Studio M2 or a new MacBook Pro M4. I heard that with the new M4 MBP, you don't need as much RAM because of improved threading - but the question remains -- what is the minimum amount of RAM I should get to ensure good performance? Is 36 or 48 enough? Help and wisdom appreciated. Thanks in advance --
hellooo (: im debating which specs i should get in a macbook - this is my first mac so im kind of at lost because its not upgradeable I chose to go with the macbook pro 16", 2TB SSD, M3 Max with 14core cpu and 30 core GPU - and my options for ram is 36GB or 96GB - and im not sure what to get, i do know that i want a laptop that will last me for years i use premiere and after effects for video editing, and photoshop and lightroom for photos.i just started Visual communication studies (UX UI, we also study graphic design and use illustartor, indesign, figma and more) thank you in advance to anyone who helps! ♥
Hello folks, I've been stretching my old build for years. Would like to buy one or 2 more by upgrading the CPU. I am currently running the Intel Core i7-4930k and have noticed that finally, most of the old "hot" 2011 CPU's are now affordable. From this list on the ASUS site, could anyone tell me which one would give me the most notable difference. Mainly I use Premiere Pro and Lightroom, but also daytrade on the same PC (taxing with 4 screens spitting data at me).ASUS list: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/p9x79_pro/helpdesk_cpu/I'm guessing it is the Core i7-4960X for a small bump in performance, since all the others are designed for servers. Just not so sure I am correct. Thanks for any recommendations, it is appreciated!

my nephew is a working professional producing and directing videos for a large website and has been developing his own youtube channel for about the last year. He is not allowed to use his company provided laptop for the youtube channel. Being a good uncle, I lent him my 2012 macbookpro about a year ago and he has been able to successfully edit with that but wants to purchase his own laptop.... I set him up with a proxy workflow and he's not doing complicated effects, etc. And I think his expectations are realistic in terms of what will be possible on a low end solution. But he has a limited budget. He prefers to stay on the mac... but might be open to windows if necessary to stay within his budget ($1,000 which may be unrealistic)... We're both based in NYC and will meet over at b and h to see what they recommend, but figured I'd ask here... He can work with external bus powered usb3 drives for the media s

I use premiere pro on a HP Workstation G3. Works like a charm. Recently I got a message from Microsoft that my version of Windows 11 (21H2) is no longer supported. Will Premiere Pro keep working with this unsupported version?I am looking for a laptop with a newer version of windows 11. But at the moment I'm in the midst of a large project and I would like it very much if I can finish my recent project on my old computer.Kind regards, Gert-Jan Remmers
Hi AllCan anyone suggest a best setup config for two-screen windows 11 Premiere Pro setup?I've an MSI Z790 Carbon with an i9-14900k CPU.The graphics card is a RTX 2080 Super. It has display ports and HDMIs.The board obviously has an HDMI out connection from the CPU.So should I stick purely to the graphics card's connections or use the on-board hdmi for one of the monitors? One monitor is a quad resolution and the other is a 1920x1080 screenThanks!

Hello, I am a person who uses software and programs such as adobe photoshop, illustrator for work.I am looking for a new ready-made system. But most people recommend intel for adobe.I want it to be developable and I want to get good performance.I was thinking of a system that I can play games occasionally.Do you think I should go amd-oriented or intel-based?
On the Internet, you can find recommendations for deep configuration of Nvidia drivers. Can you recommend them?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K75sc6mKb08

Hello, I just bought a new PC and three M.2 SSDs. For optimal editing and export speeds in Adobe Premiere Pro, which SSD should I use for the following? 1) OS and Premiere Pro application2) Media cache files3) Unedited video files4) Finalized exports The three SSDs are: Crucial T700 4TB (12,400mbps Read, 11800 Write)Samsung 990 Pro 4TB (7,450mbps Read, 6900mbps Write)Samsung 990 Pro 2TB (7,450mbps Read, 6900mbps Write)
I am supporting a user with a new installation of Adobe Premiere Pro 24 on their HP EliteBook 840 G6 running Windows 10 version 10.0.19045.4780. They had been using Premiere Pro for a week or better without issue. The program worked on Friday, 08/16 but, on Monday 08/19 the program would no longer open. It would open to a splash screen asking for credentials, but the screen would disappear a matter of seconds later (before they are able to enter credentials and hit "run"). While investigating... I found that one MS update (KB5028380) installed on 08/16 and two MS updates (KB5012170 & KB5015895) installed on 08/17. This symptom is similar to what is documented by Adobe on Known issues in Adobe Premiere Pro where they say:"We recommend that Windows users download and use NVIDIA drivers (version 531.41 or higher). This will resolve any crashing issues that may have been present with older drivers. For more information, see the NVIDIA documenta
