can an alias of a pdf document on a Mac be restored

Question

I have a document on my time machine which I can't open without getting the message that the original document can't be found. Does anyone have a solution for this problem because I can't find the original document.

Hi Robertv,

We are sorry for the delay in response to your query.

The error message shared above, "the original document can't be found" generally appears if the document is originally saved on any drive and deleted from there. The alias is created on the system which can not detect the actual file path.

If you have the copy of the file then that can be opened from there. Else, there is no where to find it.
