Hello,

I was able to open a pdf without a problem but one of my collegue couldn't but when I tried to print I got this error message:

Please wait...

If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.

...

I don't understand because I was able to open the document without getting this error message but for some reasons I can't print it, I updated my version of Adobe reader but still nothing.

Thanks for the help.

Charlotte

Yes, like I said you have to print from Reader. Not use a memory stick or anything like that.

What exactly happens when you try to print FROM READER? Not using a memory stick or anything like that.

What do you see in Reader’s print preview?

When I look at the print review in Reader I see the file correctly not the error message.

My laptop won't find the printer so I have to put what I want to print on a flashdrive to print. Do you think that's it?

    Thanks

You must print from Acrobat Reader. Nothing else will work.

Ok, when you print it, are you using Acrobat Reader? What does it show in the print preview?

I am using Adobe when printing but because my computer can't find the printer I have to put my files on a flashdrive and print it from there. Do you think that's the problem? Because I tried printed another PDF this way and it worked.

    Thanks

You say you get this message when you went to print. Do you mean it appeared on the paper?

    Hello Charlotte,

We're sorry for the trouble you had while viewing the PDF file. Please refer to the following Adobe article and try the suggestion PDF won’t display. Please wait …

What is the dot version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Is it a Mac or Windows machine? Is it specific to one PDF or with all the PDF files?

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.

    Hello,

Thank you very much for the answer.

    To answer your questions:

-I clicked on the first link you sent, I checked in my file properties and it is a Adobe LiveCycle Designer product. But I saved it on my desktop and was able to open it via Adobe.

-The reader installed is Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and I did all the updates needed.

-It is on a Windows machine and this is the first time I see this error.

As I mentioned before I was able to open it and even edit and fill the form but I cannot print it.

    Thanks for your help.

The file MUST be opened in Acrobat Reader. Don't open it in a browser or email app or anything else because you'll get this entirely normal message. Download it to desktop if needed.
