Free Trial Charged Immediately — Request for Resolution

Hello,

On August 8, 2025, I signed up for what was clearly labeled as a 7-day free trial of Adobe Acrobat Premium through the App Store. I clicked the “Free Trial” button, was directed to my Apple billing confirmation, and accepted. I was given instant access to the service.

However, the very next day (August 9), Apple attempted to charge my account $14.99 — well before the trial period should have ended on August 15. The payment failed only because I do not have an active payment method listed. I canceled the subscription on August 10, yet my account still shows access until September 8, as if I had paid for a full month.

This situation is misleading for the following reasons:

  1. The subscription never displayed any “trial ends on…” date, which contradicts the free trial offer.
  2. I was billed immediately instead of at the end of the trial.
  3. I effectively did not receive any free trial, even though I accepted an offer that said I would.

I request that Apple investigate this billing error, confirm why the free trial was not honored, and ensure that no charges are processed to my account for this subscription.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Same thing happened to me today. Clearly said 7 day free trial and was charged $25 immediately! I cancelled after 10 minutes. How can a large company act in such a misleading manner? Done through App Store and requested refund. Very poor

Here are my screenshots. Clearly my plan was just still within the trial period (literally a minute after availing of the trial), and then I got a notification from my bank about the charge.

According to this document, you need to check with Apple for a refund.

If Adobe is responsible for refunding you, and if Adobe's terms are valid, they will process the refund request automatically if you have cancelled during the first 14 days of your paid subscription. Refunds may take some time, at least you need to wait a few business days for this. Saturdays and Sundays are not business days.

I request that Apple investigate this billing error

Purchases made on the App Store are made by Apple, not Adobe. Please contact Apple for billing issues for Adobe Acrobat Reader Premium.

I've moved your post from Using the Community to the Acrobat Reader Mobile forum.

Hello, I have reached out to Apple. They told me I need to reach the
developers of this app. The person that is billing me is responsible.
Please let me know what you can do. Thank you.
