Hello, Is it possible to type into a field that is set to autogenerate information from a selected checkbox? Example:I have four checkboxes on page one of myy PDF that generate predermined phrases into a field located on page two. I'd like to add an additional field called 'Other'. I want the user to be able to type unrestricted information into the Other field and have the information generated in to the field on page two. Below is the code I've applied to the field on page two. How do I get a total number of check boxes? They are named:Check Box 1.0 - 1.9Check Box 2.0 - 2.9Check Box 3.0 - 3.9Check Box 4.0 - 4.9Check Box 5.0 - 5.9

I have a form i hand out to participants in our event, this form has a unique id field that is increasingly changing to identify a particular participant with their form number, i print this form regularly, instead of manually inputting the numbers each time before printing them, i need a way i can send the form to print, and it will automatically change the serial numbers (incrementally) per print directly from my acrobat form. Any idea how I can do this? Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind. I got the PretonSaver app to work how I need it to. This issue is resolved. I'm using an Acrobat plugin called AutoMailMerge from Evermap to merge Excel data into PDFs and print them. The plugin developer says it calls a generic black box print command from the plugin and that the plugin has no control over print settings, yet when I try to run actions created with his plugin not all the settings stay the same as my last used print settings. In particular the "save ink/toner" feature is unchecked when running actions with his plugin, but if I manually print something with it on then run a generic print action from Acrobat the save ink/toner feature stays on. It seems to me this is a problem with his plugin, but he is insisting it is not.I tried buying a program called PretonSaver, which is an ink/toner saving program that sits between the printer que and the print dialog box from Acrobat (or whatever program you are printing from). This is a very basic question about PDF form specifications. I discovered one feature.It is for making multiple copies of a field. It can use to create multiple vertical and horizontal fields.If I use it the new field name will be appended with ".1". For example, if I copy 3 fields "A",the original field name will became to "A.0" and new fields name became "A.1" and "A.2". Is this only just a way to distinguish field names?Or is there another reason? Because this looks like a sort of array.

I would need to put raw chemistry formulas in dropdown lists or values in scientific notation, it is therefore necessary for these two notations to access the superscript and subscript notations. CH4 is not CH4 and even worse when writing 1.7.103 and 1.7.103! Are there escape characters or encodings for the items in the dropdown fields?   Thank you.

Hello I am setting these checkboxes programmatically in Excel  and on first pass they are set. However when I reopen the document after saving they are not set. I just got my fingers on javascript and my first step was to create my own form by adapting the example file in this tutorial:https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/js_list_combo_livecycle/index.html#In the example the masterlist contains three information: assembly, parts and price.The partslist in the second dropdown depends on the assembly selection in a first dropdown. The Price shown depends on the selection in the second dropdown.What I'm struggling with is that I need a fourth information, lets call it "color", in the masterlist.How do I have to extend the masterlist or is the idea tottaly wrong? Just adding the additional infromation in brackets obviously doesn't work at all.example from the tutorial:var oAssemblyParts = { Chasis: [ ["-","None"],["Rear Bracket",205.95],A hint in which direction to work would be great. Hi All,  The Javascript inside my  submit button will be posting a http url. But we have firewall rules in the webserver that would redirect this url to an IDP's url which is https for  user authentication. Currently I do not get any response back and the submit button just hangs. Do we have any workaround for this?Thanks,Sailesh.

I am using dropdown menus for the most part and I need a script to check to see if the default selection is still present. If so, I need a prompt to highlight  the dropdown menu that still has the default value present.  Can anyone help?Thanks!- G

Hi,I am working on an Acrobat Plugin using the C++ SDK for Windows.I've implemented a toolbar as part of the plugin. Part of the plugin actions is compute and time intensive. The compute intensive task is now part of a background thread, however, I cannot interact with the document while the toolbar is active. I believe this is because the right and left click action of Adobe are associate with the DoClickProcType callback My question is the following:Is there a way to release the right and left click to the default tool so that the user can interact with the document using the usual tools (select, pan,. etc...) while my plugin does background work? Things that I have tried but didn't work:Registered the plugin window application using WinAppRegisterModelessDisable my plugin, and its toolbar and set the default tool using AVAppSetActiveTool(AVAppGetDefaultTool(), true). This seems to return the select tool (the arrow icon is highlighted in the toolbar area, but I can't right

HiI am updating a .NET MVC C# Web application for a client.The requirement is to allow customers to upload a PDF which we will securely store on AWS and then get the word count and character count for that PDF for later processing (language would be a nice addition).I have looked at Acrobat XI SDK but I am unable to run any of the examples because I only have Adobe Reader installed.So my questions are:For this small requirement should my client be looking to purchase an Acrobat license or would a Datalogics product be better?Which Acrobat product would be best?Would an Acrobat license cover the development, UAT, and production environments?

Hi, I need to create a claim form but struggling with the java script to display the correct info.1. The text box must display the amount being paid."Type1" is a drop down menu with 6 selections, how do I add the other 5 options information in the script? This is what I was thinking:If ("Type1" = "PPC") then ("Text8" = "$120")or If ("Type1" = "APT") then ("Text8" = "R950") 2. I need to calculate the total amount for each currency in the 11 text boxes. I have 7 radio buttons groups.   PD.Q1 to PD.Q7 Each one is Yes or NoI have two text fields.  PDW.Warning1 and PDW.Warning2.Each one is hidden by default. My objective is to show these warning text boxes based on the result of the radio buttons.  The intent is that if any of the radio button groups are selected "Yes", then the warning will appear, regardless of its 1, or all 7.  If all of the radio buttons are selected "No", then the warnings will remain hidden.I wrote this in the calculations of one of the text boxes, and it works, but it has issues.It shows the hidden warnings, but its a "sequencial" process, meaning when a user checks the first yes, then the second no, it shows, then hides the text boxes.I need the warning to remain after a "Yes", and only hide when all radio buttons are "No". if(!event.source || (event.source.name = "PD")){var nHide=(event.source.value=="Yes")?display.visible:display.hidden;this.getField("PDW").display=nHide;
