Hi: I am trying to figure out a way to underline only part of a "string" (if i'm using that correctly) I have a paragraph that auto populates based on a custom calculation script. I used the follwoing in the script in the custom validation script section wich underlines the whole paragraph. I would like to only underline the first two words of the paragraph. var span1 = {};span1.text = event.value;span1.underline = true;event.richValue = [span1]; Any suggestions or solutions. I was referring to the documentation on how to create a PDF Library application on windows, it mentions that the following files are shipped with the PDF Library SDK: AdobePDFL.libAdobePDFL.dlllibpdfl.soAdobePDFL frameworkI can't seem to locate these files, I need the AdobePDFL.dll to begin developing in .NET. Please let me know if I am missing something, any help would be appreciated.Thank you, Jayden

Hello, Totally out of my realm of expertise here, so please forgive if the title doesn't contain any of the proper keywords or if this question is better placed somewhere else. We have field operations that require constant reference to a large PDF document created by our organization in FrameMaker (1594 pages) that gets updated at least twice a year, sometimes as often as six times.  It's referenced by multiple teams simultaneously on a shared network from iPads and desktops. What we're wondering is if we can have users click a string of text (that would obviously be a button or a link of some kind) and have that string sent to a central data collection point on the network.  This is where we'd like to start.  Our tentative possible end goal is collecting the string, a user ID, and being able to remove the string from the data if there was an error. In case it's helpful, the PDF is an aircraft parts catalog with diagrams and part numbers and chapters

Hi Acrobat Community, I'm trying to get an average of six fields, with the option of skipping blank fields or N/A, and have the value autofill a seventh field. It looks like this: I've searched all over these forums and many others and I've found a few ways to do this. The one I've settled on was made by try67 on these forums. The problem I believe I'm running into now is that, no matter what I do, I can't get an array to call back to my function. Hello,  I'm wondering if there is a chance to lock zoom level of a specific page in my document (using acrobat pro), so the end user could not change it. I know there is a chance to set a default zoom level, however it does not restrict a possibility to zoom in and out for end user.  If there is no chance do to it using ootb tools, is it posissible to achieve it using javascript tool in Acrobat?

 Hello Community. I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. I’d like to do a Dynamic Stamp with an incremental number. So for example, I click on a stamp that says “SPOOL”, and each time it’s applied to the page the number would increase i.e. “SPOOL 1″, “SPOOL 2″, “SPOOL 3″, etc….  I would like also that countinous numbering could be edditable. So I could stop my actuall stamping and start again with “SPOOL 2″  for example. Is it possible in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

I had some documents on my adobe cloud this morning.. now 3 of those files are GONE! I tried to open them this morning that was fine.  Then hours later tried again and got "ERROR". Went out and in again and then they were just GONE!!! Can you help me to find them again??

Hi - I am new with javascript and seem to be hitting a bunch of dead ends. I am trying to create a form with multiple check boxes, Based on the selection of text boxes a full letter will populate. Right now I am using scrip that looks like this  var a = this.getField("options").value;if(a == "a"){event.value = "Option A paragraph";}else if(a == "b"){event.value = "Options B paragraph";}I have done this script for all 10 chck boxes and have 10 coressponding text box fields to popoulate the informaton in.  But I am now realizing that the paragraph options are all different lengths and the letter would have to be formatted each time. Is there a script that would auto format all the paragraph spacing? or should I use one big long text box (but it would have to be multiple pages) with a long script.  Last question: can you format paragraphs with javascript ? Thank you   

Hi - I am working on a PDF form that uses a custom javascript to auto fill text boxes based on check marks. Becasue there a few different selections is it possible to write a script that will auto format the whole document, so all of my paragraphs are equally spaced and paragraphs/lines wont have to be pushed up or down when the form is complete ?  Thank you

I have a text field whose required status is based on a selection made in a drop down.  What I need to add to the code that I've already got (see below): if (this.getField("Bedrooms").value=="Points"){event.target.required=true}else if (this.getField("Bathrooms").value=="Points"){event.target.required=true}else if (this.getField("Occupancy").value=="Points"){event.target.required=true}else{event.target.required=false} Is that if this field is required it cannot equal 0.  The problem is that any other time, it can be 0.  I don't doubt that it is doable.  I just don't have the knowledge to make it happen...  Any help would be appreciated.

Essentially I'm trying to pull two different lists into two separate dialog "popup" lists but for some reason only one of the lists will populate at a time. I'm doing all this in a folder level script and I am unable to change that. The data is being pulled from a proprietary application. I'm trying to use radio buttons to select a "sample type". Upon selection, I want the form to default certain tests to that particular sample type.  For example, selecting PARTS would default the Salmonella, Campylobacter, and EB testing radio buttons on.. I'm fairly new to Acrobat and JS so any help or advise is greatly appreciated. Looking to convert lots of documents to text.  Need meta data about the document and the text.  One data point that is needed is the indent.  Need to know if a line is indented from the left margin and some sort of quantification of that indent such as spaces, tabs or something else.  If such a tool does not exist I am willing to code it but this new to me.  What tools might help solve this problem?  

Hi, I am creating a an editable PDF with multple form fields including an image field. I have a shape that is 1.5x1.25" for the field. I want to know if there is a script I can add so the importaed image scales up so it fits the shape 100% instead of just scaling proportionaly to the width or height. Thanks D

Hello,I'm having a problem converting a scanned document from pdf to word. I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on Mac.I'm scanning sections of a book into pdf format, then I have ran them through OCR by exporting them to word in order to get editable text. I have two problems: (1) The scanned document is in landscape, but I need the final editable text in portrait and the text itself to be formatted like a normal word document, i.e., not the format in which it was scanned but as if I opened word and began to type sections of the book, trying to mirror how it is presented there - I cannot simply change the orientation from landscape to portrait because its a scanned document, and everything becomes scrambled and the text doesn't actually fit on the page; and (2) some of the text is not showing up because there are glitches or missing portions of text, some areas have strange symbols instead of text as well.My biggest problem, at this point, is that I cannot seem to convert the scanned documen

Hi all, Trying to figure out the custom calculation script to be able to add multiple values of different form fields if a form field includes a value above 300. For context, I am trying to sum the number of upper division credits, (courses at 300 level or above,) for a form that I use to meet with students. In the attached file, I would love for "UD Credits" to add the value of "a" if "Fall 1" includes in a string a value above 300, such as MATH 321. I would then need to add the respective values of "aa," "aaa," "aaaa" and so on based on their respective left form fields.  Sorry to ask this question! I'm very, very new at javascript and I've tried to experiment with the script by using boolean logic, .includes, etc. but I'm just not able to make anything work!

Hi, we're trying to add headers and footers to locked pages.  Long story short: We get about 300 pages of signed documents that we used a script on to flatten the documents then we could add headers and footers to the pages and save as a new PDF.  However, the addon is too old and does not work any longer.Is there any other way to do this?  At present we are running "Optimize PDF" with a few settings and that works but it is not an ideal solution.  We would like to take the 300+ pages, keep them locked (either via saving as image or something), merge them all together, and add a footer (like page numbers, dates, etc...)
