I am considering buying adobe acrobat. The reason is to create JavaScripts that I want to include in my PDF'sWhat version do I need for this.

I am using the multi-column list view (mclv) in a JavaScript dialog to display some records. Before I display the records in the grid I sort them based on a sequence field in each object of the array that populates the grid. On Mac, Acrobat displays the records in the correct order (the order in which they are in the JavaScript array) but on Windows the most recently added object to the array always displays at the top of the grid. I even tried cloning the array by sorting it, stringifying it, then parsing it back into a new JSON array and the result is the same. I know that the multi-column list view ("grid") is an undocumented feature but I'm hoping there is a way to control the display order on Windows. Any suggestions?

I had a disc with Adobe 8 standard which was registered etc.  I now have a new computer but have lost the disc.  I have a serial no registered with Adobe.  However the only Adobe 8 available for download is Adobe 8 Pro and when I put in my serial code I get a message code provided is invalid.  What can I do?

I've tried to do this myself, but I'm missing something as it doesn't work! I want to sort the data in the form fields. Fields are arranged in a simple table with 10 rows and the heading "Name" and "Price". I have the fields "name.0", "name.1", "name.3" ... "name.10". Then the fields "price.0", "price.1" ... "price.10".After filling the fields I want to click on the button "sort" and alphabetically sort the data by the first column.I use Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Hi, Can anyone point me in the direction of how to create PDFs which are non-editable programatically? I want to automatically generate a PDF which cannot be editable using a PDF tool. Everything I can see is based on using the security settings manually within the Acrobat tool, but I wanted to know if there is another option? Thanks.. M

Hi,I am trying to to save my document with JavaScript as PDF/X3 I tried the optional parameters for the saveAscurDoc.saveAs(outputpath, "com.callas.preflight.pdfx"); but it will not save it as X3.It there a way to go through the optimizer by script, change preferences .. Thanks for any help.Stefan

Is it possible to embed Acrobat "AcroExch.App" in an Excel Userform ?I do not want to use AcroPDF as there is no functionality to fill out form fields.

Hi,I would like to highlight a selected text in a certain colour via shortcut (that is to say, execute the command available in the context menu of a text selection programmatically (right click on selection > Highlight text)). I have used IAC with AutoHotkey before, but I am not sure which route to take... could somebody point me to an example for text annotation creation over a selected text?Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.

Hi everybody, I have the feeling my problem should be simple to solve but I cant figure it out. I am very new to this .. so I might be absolutley on the wrong track. I have two PDF forms: A0.pdf and A1.pdf. The user should fill the template A0.pdf and if required afterwards also the additional template A1.pdf. As there are form fields containing the same information in both forms, I would like to transfer the mutual data from the A0.pdf to the A1.pdf . My idea was to use a button in the A0.pdf that if pressed opens an empty template of the A1.pdf and then fills in the data. Good morning everyone - i have a pdf form that has 12 fields - 5 are hidden - its a calculator of sorts. The user puts in their annual earnings, and based off of field3 - field4 is supposed to dive field3 by 12 and generate a number - but it's not working. i've tried this in the in the Simplified Field Notation area:  Annual_Bill_Rev/12months   the 12months is a hidden field with a default value of 12. If i can figure this out, i can probably figure out the other elements as well. so that i may get those other fields working. i need this by End of Day today so i suuuuuuure hope someone can shed some light on this for me. Recently upgraded to new iMac and re-installed Adobe CC. Since then every high resolution pdf i view has a strange "ghosting" effect of trim marks etc which only shows when viewing overprint - they do not appear in the separations preview nor do they appear when printing.This appears on pdfs created by others and it does not affect anyone else in my group so is clearly a display error of some kind - any comments?

I'm trying to figure out a way to get the coordinates or location of when you as a user are using the pointer, you can select an area(represented by a blue box). I would want that blue box location and save it. Then I would like to be able to recreate that. So I could click a button and that select box would appear at that location again. In a way its similar to what the bookmark feature can do except that just uses zoom. The reason I need this is to add a feature to a ERP application I am creating. Customers send emails with pdf attachments. We quote them according to what they say in that pdf file. As a user, I want to be able to select a location in a pdf file, save it, and continue. That way when a product is shipped, for example, with the color purple, and the customer is upset because he didn't want purple, we could easily show the customer where exactly he/she said that in the pdf file. We wouldn't have to waist time looking through all the pdf files the user sent to find it.

Hi, I was hoping to get some help on the following topic: I have a fillable PDF form created in Adobe Acrobat XI Standard (also have a Pro version on another laptop) and I am trying find the most efficient way to insert a page with non-merged fields. I have a document that has one page that is sometimes repeated (depending on how many observations we find). At this time, one page with certain fields is created in a fillable form and when I try to add/insert the same page again, fields are merged and the same already filled text repeats itself. I can go in and change the name and numbering of each field, but I was wondering if there is a more efficient way? Either with coding or through a PDF Portfolio, which I have not used yet. Hello,  I'm looking to create an if-if-then calculation in my Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. There are 3 total fields being utilized, A, B, and C, all with qualitative values (no numbers).A and B are both drop down menus, each with 3 options. Out of the 9 total combinations between Fields A and B, there will be a return for Field C. The goal is for me to have an Adobe Acrobat where C will dynamically change based on what's in A and B.  Can anyone assist me in what the javascript code would look like based on what I need done? 

I need a keystroke script to add a dash after the 3 first number if the user don’t enter one. I can’t use an Arbitrary Mask since I have a validation script to allow number between 7 and 11 digits only. Can we merge the validation with a keystroke? Or in a format script?

Is there a way to access/change the default properties for a markup annotation using Javascript?  Since it is a dynamic toolbar and dialog based on the type of markup selected I can't find the properties or methods.  A second question would be how to find the properties/methods for a dynamic toolbar or dialog.  I have searched the documentation and can't seem to find it.Thank you so much for any assistance provided.

I’m able to create fields on everypages of a PDF using this: for (var nPage = 0; nPage < this.numPages ; nPage++) { var f = this.addField("myField", "text", nPage, [200, 600, 300, 660]); } or to a specific pages:  //Page 2 var f = this.addField("myField", "text", 1, [200, 600, 300, 660]); or all pages except the first or the last.But now I need to add fields to a specific set of page ex: 2-4, 6. It will probably involve an array with a loop. But I’m lost.Any clue on how to create an array of pages numbers, and loop the process of creating fields on them? Or any tutorials (simple and clear) on how to create/use arrays and loops would be welcomed. Thanks!

 In this automatic culvert size calculator, I would like the correct culvert size to be automatically selected from the heading culvert sizes dropdown list and the checkbox array opposite the culvert discharge area: ie. in the image the checkbox opposite the 800 culvert should be selected and 800 should be selected from the drop-down list. In the image of the form, the Aavg field was calculated using the 'average' calculation function, however, I would prefer if the value was the mean of the values that are greater than 0 or null, so as an error isn't caused by a failure to enter a full six measurements.         

I have a bunch of PDF that I need to add a long document javascript in them. But I can't figure out how to us ethe same steps to includes a long multiline javascript. I have try a few things like defining a variable but it keep failing. How can I write a long multiline code to be injected using the: this.addScript("init", "[code here]")

I have a large PDF (320 pages) and need to extract and save individual pages as separate files. I search on a keyword in the file, locate the page(s) I need, and then extract these pages from the master document (without deleting). EVERY SINGLE time the 'BROWSE for FOLDER' dialog box forces me to scroll and expand my folder tree, for a total of SIX CLICKS (plus a lot of scrolling in a little tiny box) to reach the destination folder. I'm on Windows 10 and this was not my experience extracting pages in the previous versions of Acrobat. I have searched on how to set or change the default output folder and/or how to force Acrobat DC to 'see' that I just used a particular folder, and to present that recently accessed folder as the default destination after the first time I've extracted a page from a PDF. At the very least, I would expect the default output directory to be that of the document from which I'm extracting the pages (which it's not). I had hoped I could change the output f
