I am trying to insert a url in image and then insert that image in a pdf document so that the document can be tracked. Do adobe has some functionality so that it can track the document(get all the user details who opened the document) once it is opened after the download.Message was edited by: Malcolm Thomson Updated title to make it shorter and easier to read.

I'm trying to create a form where all the data comes from Excel and auto-populates a few fields into the PDF if a correct value is typed into the first field. I'm basically trying to create a search function that allows information to pop up when searched. I've noticed that when I try to import data from Excel into the PDF I created, I'm only allowed to select one row of data to import, and it populates all existing form fields on the page. I don't want this. I'm dealing with many rows of data in the Excel spreadsheet. What I would like is to be able to import all data from the Excel file, and have them all as potential data (only showing when the correct value is entered). I really don't know Javascript but I understand that coding is necessary for these types of features. I've been watching YouTube videos and reading other questions and answers but it seems like it's all going over my head. Is what I'm asking even possible? Happy to clarify if anything is unclear. Hello, I'm fairly new to javascript and have never used it within Adobe Acrobat before so I'm pretty lost. I'm using Acrobat Pro DC and I'm trying to take the user input from two text fields and add them together to show the sum in a third text field. What I have set up is three text fields with the names of "valueOne", "valueTwo", and "sum".In the actions tab on the properties window for the valueOne field I have a trigger of Mouse Down and the action to run javascript, I wrote - var firstValue = this.getField("valueOne").value; I did the same on the second text field with - var secondValue = this.getField("valueTwo").value; Then for the third text field, which will show the sum, I'm not sure how to autofill it? I've tried something like - event.value = (this.getField("valueOne + valueTwo").value=="") ? "";It's not working - and I'm not sure how to have it just show up without using a trigger event? Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

I need to add together two columns "Actual Hours" and "Actual Pets", then divide to get "Hours/Pet". I then need a running total for each day of the week that provides the week to date and the month to date.My goal is this: (AHMonday + AHTuesday + AHWednesday + AHThursday + AHFriday) / (APMonday + APTuesday + APWednesday + APThursday + APFriday)The average is not the same as week to date (off slightly, but very important this be accurate) and I need to account for fields being empty without sending errors for not completing the calculations. I have set up form fields to automatically populate calculations once numbers are entered into some of the other fields on the form. Hello, I would like to know how to automate date and time (military time) based on a previous input. Please refer to the image below.So, I would like to automate it so that when the shift supervisor has filled out the signature field, both the date and time field will be automatically filled. Hello!I'm new to javascript, so please excuse my lack of knowledge . The first field on my form can be blank or have a numeric value. That field plus about 20 others will be added together to result in a grand total. Based on what the number in that first field is, I've written a calculation script in another field to determine whether the number in that field is greater than, less than, or equal to a specific number. That's working great, except that when the form is opened, the specific number from the calculation script is showing up in that calculated field. I want the calculated field to be blank unless something there is an amount in the grand total on the form. The number printing in the calculated field (which happens to be the last field on the form) is currently -12.00 until a number is entered in any of the 20 or so fields; as soon as any of them has a value entered, I want the calculated field to begin showing it's calculated number. I want to create a PDF that provides either content (text) or options contingent on the value chosen in a previous field. 1. First question; does this sound doable with javascript.  For purposes of question one; here is a simple exampleAssume a form with 2 fields; Size and Color.For size, there are two options in a dropdown; "small" and "large"If the user selects "small", then text options for color would be "red" and "green". If the user selects "large", then text options for color would be  "black" and "white". 2. Where would one find documentation on the methods  available for Javascript within Acrobat. Morning all, Apologies if this questions been asked before but I've only just recently begun using Acrobat DC. I wanted to know if there was anyway i could rename hundreds of documents by using text from within the file? Currently I have to click open the file, read the name of the file and then rename the document. I can't get the JavaScript to round down to 0.5. In Excel, FLOOR.MATH(A1,0.5) does what I want, but it doesn't do so in Adobe.  For example, I need 1.1 to 1.4 to round down to 1.0, and 1.6 to 1.9 to round down to 1.5.  I have the formula event.value=Math.floor(this.getField("CPE1").value,.5) in Adobe, but this just returns 1.1 to 1.9 to 1.0.  Any ideas?

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! I recently created an inspection report which contains various 'Year service is due' fields. When I enter a past or present year, I'd like the cell background to turn red. If I enter a future year, I'd like the cell background to stay white. I don't know how to write code but I assume I can create a java script in this case. Can someone please assist? Thank you in advance!

Hello Everyone,      Our client uses Adobe Acrobat Pro DC at their office and they have a retention policy in place for the documents they keep on their systems in the office. I've written a  script that sets the document info keyword field to the retention period that they've selected.     Upon saving the document the user is prompted to set the retention policy with a popup. However, this only works if the "Document Will Save" event is set. It's my understanding that the JS in "Document Will Save" is set on a per document basis. I can't expect my clients to set this action on every single document they open.Is there a way that i can set this action on any document they open from their copy of Acrobat?All suggestions are welcome!Thank you so much!        Bob

Hello All,I have multiple PDF's with fillable data, each form that is filled out has unique data for each person that uses it.  I would like to find a way to take portions of the form and export the data to an excel sheet in a formatted manner i.e. block 1 of the pdf is exported to cell 1A  and block 2 to cell 1B of the excel workbook and so on.  Then I would like it to open a second pdf and do the same but add the data from block 1 to cell 2A and so on down the row. The systems that this would be run on do not allow third party software so I am limited in my potential solutions to Powershell, Java or builtin Microsoft or adobe products.Thank You for your help
