I need my pdf to open on the first page regardless of the local Acrobat user's setting (Edit --> Preferences --> Document --> Open Settings --> Restore last view settings when reopening document).I have already set the pdf's  Properties --> Initial View to default at "Open to page: 1"; however, on systems that have Acrobat configured as above, the file will open to the last page the user was accessing.  I need the document to open on the first page no matter what.I've tried adding JavaScript --> Document Will Close --> "pageNum = 0;", but that doesn't override the local setting.Any ideas?Thanks,Gene

Hello, I am trying to delete all of the second level bookmarks from my pdf.I am able to delete the first top level bookmark and it's child with the following code:if (this.bookmarkRoot.children != null && this.bookmarkRoot.children.length > 0) {      for (var i = 0; i < this.bookmarkRoot.children.length; i++) {            this.bookmarkRoot.children.remove();      }   }However, but i am not sure how to change the code to only delete the second level (children of the children?) book marks. HiWould anyone be able to help?I have a form field that has Rich Text enabled. When the page closes the .richValue of this field is copied and reused somewhere else in the form.It all works great, all the values, font, font size etc is carried over except for line breaks. All the text is placed on the same line.Unless! you click Shift+Enter when you want to go to the next line. However I can't expect the forms users to know to do this. Would anyone be able to provide me with a custom Keystroke Script so that when the Return/Enter Key is pressed on the keyboard it actually inserts a line break.Many thanks for any help!Jon

Hello, I need help creating a script to allow me to average two cells, only if one of them is greater than zero. I have the following cells: "TotalRatingUC", "TotalRatingLC", and "Overall Rating". We'll call it the following for simplification: TotalRatingUC=A, TotalRatingLC=B, Overall Rating=C.So basically, i need C= A+B/2 if B>0. If B=0, i need C=A. I’m working in Acrobat Pro and I have a field named ChildDOB, date format is m/d/yyyy. I have a second field named Date18. I need to figure out when the child will turn 18. The statement that I am working with is this: If the child is under the age of 18 they must meet the criteria stated in Section 1. Date the child will become age 18: ___________. I know I need to add 18 years to the child’s date of birth, but not sure how to achieve this. Help is much appreciated.

I've been researching this for quite some time and it's getting frustrating that I can't figure it out myself!  I have a PDF form.  One field is a drop down menu.  And then I have a group of radio buttons and a group of checkboxes.  I have the group of radio buttons because only choice can be made ("Auth" or "Priv").  Group name is "14X: Type of Access".  I have the checkboxes set up ("15X: U" and "15X: C") because more than one box can be checked.  My code is allowing the checkbox to be selected but the radio button won't.  The drop down menu has several choices and depending on the choice selected, either one or both of the checkboxes can be selected along with only one of the radio buttons ("Auth" or "Priv").  Here's a short version of what I have so far but only the "15X: U" checkbox is being checked and unchecked when I deselect "NIPR":var X = this.getField("14X: Type of Access");var A = this.getField(X.name+"Auth");var P = this.getFiel

I am working with really large (numbers of pages) pdfs.  I know of two ways to extract non-sequential pages: right-click from either the page view OR the organize pages view.The problem is that I want to extract many different non-sequential pages (could be 200 pages out of 1100).  I keep a list of all pages indexed in EXCEL (don't ask...that's just what we are doin right now ) .  Anyway, as part of that process I use EXCEL to identify which pages will be extracted (and sent to third parties) from the larger *.pdf file.  Because of that, I can easily using EXCEL VBA create a comma delimited list of which pages to extract from the *.pdf file.My problem is I am a complete novice at Javascript.  So right now, I have to open up Adobe and hold the CNTRL key while I scroll thru and try and select dozens (if not hundreds) of non-sequential page for extraction.  One slip and I have to start over again.I just want to be able to feed (could be copy-paste) a list of

I am creating an adobe form and have 4 dropdown fields [text1, text2, text3, text4] that are populated by another dropdown box [main_text].  The fields text1, text2, text3, text4 have the same options [option1, option2, option3, option4].  Is there a way to hide an option when it is selected in one of the dropdown boxes?  For instance if a user chooses option 1 in the dropdown box called text1 can that option be hidden in the other 3 dropdown boxes [text2, text3, text4].  Then the same thing when the user chooses an option for text2 and so on.  Eventually by the time they get to text4 there should be only 1 option left for them to choose.

I have a document that is 200+ pages with mostly tables.  The tables are tagged as tables, but the scoping is not applied to the appropriate row/column headers.  Is there a way to expedite or automate this or will I have to go into Table Editor for each table and mark the header cells as appropriate?

Hi,I have to add watermarks to 1200 documents. The watermarks contain a part of the file name, but in many cases 3 - 4 documents need the same watermark (e.g. a-123-1, a-123-2, etc. all need xyz-123 as a watermark). Hello,I have 1 checkbox with the name taxable and 2 fields with the name CashPrice and TaxableTotal. And in text1 there is a value. Now comes my question if i check the checkbox the value of CashPrice needs to be added to the TaxableTotal. There are 8 lines that will needed to be able to be added. I don't know how to begin. Does anybody know if there is setting to fix this problem of mine when saving pdf as tiff/bmp.Application Version : Acrobat Pro XI/Acrobat Pro DC 20171. open a pdf file with text as outline.2. saveas pdf to tiff3. change tiff setting resolution to 300dpi4. continue with saving as tiffafter examining the saved tiff file carefully, some text (japanese fonts) with 1-2px space will look like it is being filled by the color of the text. looks like anti-alising is not performed during saveas, hence the filled effect.Note: the problem disappear when the pdf is exported in 600dpiSide by Side Comparison of text

What would be the best way to automate with JS for changing a specific layer in PDF to have is Print Initial State to «Never Print»? Is it possible?

I have a PDF set up with a dropdown. The dropdown named "Country" allows users to select their Country/Region. I have 27 other layers in my PDF, each having an image of a flag. They are stacked on top one another. My hopes is to have the layer toggle from hidden to visible based on the selected country in the dropdown. just realized that it is possible to edit PDF files using javascript.I have some, very small, experience in the past writing controls in javascript but honestly I don't know how to edit a pdf file using this language.I especially don't know where to begin...May someone help me?examples and steps to begin are really appreciated 🙂thanks!

Does anyone know which PDF viewer on mobile currently has the most support for the javascript object model. I am particularly interested in forms support for functionality such as showing/hiding fields, validation and formatting. Adobe offerings are really inadequate in these areas.
