I am trying to calculate Total Hours in a Time sheet I created in Acrobat Pro. I found the script online to calculate hours between In and Out for the day but I am having two issues.If time is not entered in military format then the total for that day is incorrect. As long as I enter military format it gives me correct total.As you can see in line one in below screenshot I am getting correct total.Line two however is giving me -4:00 because my clock in time after lunch is 12:00 and out is 5:00.Line 3 shows time entered as military time.Issue number two. After I get the totals for each day in a time format then how to I add them up to get the total for the week?If I simply add the fields I get incorrect result. I am guessing because I am trying to add time which isn't same as decimal number.This is the script I have in the total box for the day (T1). I have used same code for the remaining day totals and simply change the field names.-----------------------------------------------------

Hi All,I am working on a creating a PDF form with text fields that need to change the fill color depending on values entered (value 1 turns fill color red, value 2 turns fill color green, value 3 turns fill color blue, etc.). I was wondering if it is possible to write a JavaScript which will set the text field's background color to the color required based on the numeric value entered. Any ideas?Thank you,Donna

Hi All,Using Adobe Acrobat X ProI don't have any programming or Javascript experience so any help will be greatly appreciated.I am trying to figure out how to do a If/Else calculation in a Adobe form.In the field box named (S4_SU_PS) if I enter any value in that field I want it to calculate the difference.  For example I want it to ignore any value up to >£5.75. So if I was to enter £17 in that box then I would like it to return the difference of £11.25 in that same field.  If a value of lets say a lower amount is entered £4.35 then I would like that to be disregarded. So any thing below <5.75 shows up as £0.00.Otherwise when I come to adding up the value in this filed it will be incorrect as I am only interested in adding anything above the £5.75 if that makes sense.Sorry if haven't been clear in explaining in what I am trying to achieve.Many thanks in advance.RegardsJohn

I'm still looking at a work around to my question from the other day. I think I have come up with various field scripts, validations and equations, but I'm down to one last hiccup.I have a simplified field notation in field3:  field1*field2*.01+field1.The equation works perfectly except that I'd like the user to have the ability to not enter anything in field2 leaving them the option to input field1 and field3, exclusive of the equation. I would also need field3 to remain blank/0 value until either the equation is complete or the user enters a number.Is this possible? Is there a way to "override" a calculation?

I am trying to find the index of a slash plus "v." I tried:if (file_list.indexOf("\\v.")>-1)but it doesn't work. If I take out the \\, it works but finds ALL instances of "v." Any ideas why it wouldn't? This is in a node.js script.Thanks.

Hi,How can i make check boxes generate text? I have 9 check boxes, each with their own individual Export Value. (The Export Value is a paragraph of text.) I would like it so when people choose the check boxes they need, the result is shown in a text field, so I'm trying to write a custom calculation script. My Checkboxes are called "Check Box 1" "Check Box 2" etc, and the results box is called "Strength results".I can get it so I get all the text in one line, and the the word "Off" for each checkbox that isn't checked however I'm wanting:Check Box 1 text (or which ever is selected)Line break \nCheck Box 2 text (or which ever is selected)Line break \nCheck Box 3 text (or which ever is selected)Can you help?Thanks

I do not understand why this will only work if both fields are populated. I would also like to know if I could assign a value to variable based on what fields are populated. Hi -When we create a PDF from documents based on one of our Word templates, auto-numbered numerical digits in 1st-level and sometimes (depending on the document) 2nd-level section headers come into the PDF as xobject images rather than as text characters. This happens in TOC entries as well as the headers in the text. If I manually replace the numbers in the TOC in Word, they come into PDF ok.  If I manually replace the numbers in the section headers, they come into PDF ok but, as one would expect, subsequent sections renumber themselves.Windows 7, Word 2013, Acrobat XI.Anyone ever run into this?  Ideas, suggestions most appreciated. Hey, everyone,Just a super minor thing, really, but it's mildly annoying from time to time:Every time I view a PDF in Acrobat (Pro DC), there is a thin white border around the edges of the document. (Note: This has nothing to do with transparency—I know about that, and I disabled all those "smoothing" settings in Acrobat's preferences, just to see if it would do anything, and it made no difference.)Is there a way to disable that thin border or am I just stuck with it?I imagine it may be just "an Acrobat thing" (I guess it helps identify the edges of the document if your PDF is also a gray like the pasteboard background), but it always looks like my images/colors/etc. are just a hair short of touching the edges of the page (even though said elements actually bleed off the page -- I just export most of my PDFs without bleeds when I send client comps, so that they see how the file would look in final, trimmed form) and it sometimes looks like a mistake to me.Test image below: If you click

When I try to use Acrobat 9 Pro, I get an error message and cannot procede. "Suite Product Activation Needed  Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop)." Opening Photoshop CS4 does not help as mentioned it should. The only temporary solution is to uninstall all of CS4 and reinstall using my license. Is there a known solution? The previous answer was to buy a new version of Acrobat.

is there a secure way to view pdfs only on a web site?

Whenever I'm using the highlight tool to highlight scanned pdfs, DC is crashing after about 5 or so highlights and I have to do Cntrl, Alt, Delete and bring up Task Mgr and shut it down.  It's gotten to where I have to click on save after EVERY highlight or else I lose all of the highlights when it freezes up.  VERY ANNOYING, since I'm having to do this 10+ times per day! 😠We are running Windows 7 Enterprise where I work.  Thanks for any advice I can give our IT guys.  They are stumped by this as well

Hi, I have a VB6 app that uses the AcroPDF.dll to view PDF files.Since the update to 15.23.20053 anytime I use the AcroPDF control to view the PDF I get a constantly blinking cursor, it flickers between the arrow cursor and the loading cursor. Also the CPU usage jumps up and slows down the PC.In the background I can see a process called RDRCEF.exe constantly opening and crashing... I did create an interactive pdf in indesignI did open the document with acrobat and fill the fields.now I did dublicate the page to fill the fields with new informationsbecause the fields have the same name, the new informations will be filled in both pages and I losethe informations in page1.now renaming 100 fields is a time consuming.how can I rename the fields with a script?

Hi thereI want to make a form to print labels.I want to print 6 labels on one pageDate on the first label is present date (I have used Date Printed).Date on next label must be DatePrinted+1, the date on the 3rd label DatePrinted+2 etc etcAlso I have a text field on each and every label. I just want to enter text in the text field on label1 and have this text copied in the same text field on the other 5 labels.How do I get this done?

I am most likely not the first to discover this, but nonetheless it was a very happy discovery.I work on a Mac but run Windows too, under Parallels. With my routine it is simply best to work on my Acrobat forms on the Mac, with the exception of course when it comes to editing my scripts. Those familiar know that if you use an external Mac text editor with Acrobat, you must quit the text editor in order to return to and use your form.I discovered that if I set the Acrobat JavaScript preferences on my Mac to use a Windows text editor (in my case, I am using notepad++), I lose that very annoying problem of having to quit the text editor to use my forms in editing mode. When I edit a script, whether the script is attached to a field, a Document JavaScript or All JavaScripts, notepad++ opens in Parallels, and when I close the script in notepad++,  leaving notepad++ open, I can then return to and continue working on my form.
