I have a list box, Tuition, with three available values, 0 (default), 1649, and 1872. In another field (FICA), I want to create a conditional calculation based on the result of what is selected in Tuition. The purpose is to determine if an amount is taxable based on the result of a calculation. But, I can't even get past square 1, determining which item User has selected! This is not the entire script that will eventually be in FICA. I'm just trying to diagnose my problem.The following code was copied from a tutorial. var nTuition = this.getField("Tuition").value;if( nTuition = 1649) event.value = 1649;else event.value = 1872;When executed, the above will only return 1649, regardless of what is selected in Tuition. I have Tuition execute the calculation immediately. And, the FICA field is top in the calculation order. 1649 appears in FICA, even after resetting all fields (should be 0). It would seem, given the above code, that the default Tuition value of 0 would return 1872, no?What i
I am building a customised Action in Acrobat using JS and I want to be able to import a list and iterate through it, like the built-in "Search & Remove Text" tool does. I can't figure out a way to edit the built-in tools though, or a place I can find the code behind them.If this isn't possible, does anyone know where else I might find JS code that imports a list and iterates through it?Any help would be very much appreciated!
I'm trying to figure out how to sum a column of radio buttons. I've been presented with a form with 5 categories or questions that need to be rated from 1 to 5. The layout is something like:Q1: 1 2 3 4 5Q2: 1 2 3 4 5Q3: 1 2 3 4 5Q4: 1 2 3 4 5Q5: 1 2 3 4 5 T1 T2 T3 T4 T5 Grand TotalThe idea being that as someone rates each question, the value of the checkbox they select is then summed at the bottom of the column so I wind up with a total of the 1s that were
I have scripted "canned" emails that employ rich text formatting, such as line returns and tabs using \r and \t. Using a mouse up action with a button and the app.mailMsg method, the script opens my default email client, Mail.app, and generates the email, ready to send to the addressee. The addressee and contents of the email are determined by values entered in other fields that are referenced within my script as variables.I also want this script to work with Microsoft Outlook, but Outlook seems to only offer HTML and plain text. The rich text formatting is ignored by Outlook.So my question is this: can I amend my script to place line breaks, returns and tabs into either plain text or HTML email message in Outlook?David
Hello, I'm creating a form on Acrobat X Pro and I'm trying to restrict the user from entering future dates in a textfield with the date format. Basically the date has to be today's date or prior. I'm a newbie to Acrobat form scripting, so I was wondering how to go about this.Preferably, I would want to initiate this on field exit if possible, but if not then do it on form submit validation / both. I assume I would have to use a compare operator against the current date such as 'var CurrentDate = new Date();' but I need to know how to associate with the field's value and if any conversion is required, moreover how to initiate this on the exit event.Additionally, I have a 3 part date field which needs to be validated. It's split with one field for Month, one for Day and one for Year. Is it possible to combine the 3 fields and validate the date for future dates ? Appreciate any insight on this. Thanks!
I have been tasked with the process of altering a fillable pdf form at work. The purpose of this form is for an employee here at the office to run this application and to select a proposal and it populate a list of classifications and wage rates, save the pdf form and then they can email that form to users in the field to fill out and return.I am not really that familiar with fillable pdf forms but as a programmer feel I can handle it. The form I am trying to populate contains three columns; a classification field that I populate with selected dropdown items (I found this easy) and then an Hourly Rate Paid column that I am trying to populate dynamically when they select a classification and a number of employees column that they enter manually.What I need the form to do is when a classification is selected from the dropdown (by the user in the field) the form is supposed to look through a dataset of some type and find that classification along with its related wage rate and then automa
Hello there,I am trying to do a simple equation that I can not seem to figure out. I have a subtotal amount and discount that is being given. For the total amount I would like it to give me the price amount with the tax being included for a new total. I would think this formula would be work. I could be wrong. Total = subtotal1-(Subtotal1*discount)or subtotal1-(Subtotal1*discount)when i did the an easy equation it does not change the numbers as well. I also fixed the calculation order.
Hi Acrobat forum readers:Is there any way to utterly force Adobe PDF's printer driver to use only document-specified fonts that are installed at the system level and stop printer font substitution?I am having a thorny and bizarre font substitution problem with Microsoft Word 2016.I designed a corporate identity for a company that deals with education publishing.I specified using "ITC Century Std" as a standard font in the identity.When we view a test document I created on screen in MS Word, there are 3 lines of text at the bottom of the page after a subheading. (see attached JPEG Word screenshot)When you print that document to either Adobe PDF as a printer or to any paper laser printer, there are suddenly 5 lines of text at the bottom of the page after the same subheading! And more bizarre, every single line on the page has the exact same line ending (even hyphenated words are identical).At first, I thought it must be a font substitution problem, or a margin change problem.Then, I did
I created a fillable PDF and inserted in on my website. That works perfectly. Now when I test it, I would like them to send it to a specific email address once it fills out. Any idea how that can be done through Adobe Acrobat DC?Thanks in advance.
Using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC...I have created a PDF Form which includes a field for the current date, "Today". It seems to work. I used the following in the "Custom Calculation Script" section var f = this.getField("Today");if (f.value == "") f.value = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", new Date());I have a fillable field for a project beginning date "OnAssignment".Assuming both those fields (Today and OnAssignment) are populated... I want a third field, "Duration" to then calculate and display the current duration - the difference between "Today" and "OnAssignment", and have no idea how to do that. The obvious secondary question would be how best to format the result in the "Duration" field. I am hoping for... (example)... 2.3 Years Any assistance, guidance, reference, resource, and/or education would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2000+ page document that I am trying to insert another PDF after every second page. I'm a Javascript novice and I've managed to get this far. Can anyone offer any advise as to what I'm doing wrong?for (var i=this.numPages-1; i>=0; i--) { if (i % 2 == 0) { { this.insertPages(i, "FileToInsert.pdf"); }
Hello All,I have read a number of posts on several sites. Additionally have noted a number of knowledgeable folks supporting all the of the newb questions. I have visited some resource sites like adobe. and various forums like this one.However I am still not able to glean the solution for the correct java script that will address correctly auto populating the Month of February if 1.29 thru 1.31 is selected in the initial date field.all other dating works correctly Form has 3 date fields, I am trying to provide script that will allow my users to populate the first field and the 2nd and 3rd field will be dated 1 month later , naturally Feb. is an exceptionthe main script I have used to this point is // get value of field to update - field name is Text5var sDate = this.getField('Text5').value;// convert to date time object// the fields format is mm/dd/yyyyvar oDate = util.scand('mm/dd/yyyy', sDate);// get the parts of the datevar fFullYear = oDate.getFullYear(); // 4 digit yearvar
Just discovered that several boxed versions of XI Pro we purchased a few months ago have serial numbers that are either counterfeit or were somehow removed from the Adobe database for being "not legitimate" A massive hardware project that took a few extra months to complete is the reason why we're only finding this out. I spoke with our national IT services providers and they say counterfeit XI Pro licenses are a huge problem right now, and some e-tailers with legitimate licensing rights to Adobe have been victim. The e-tailers are Tier-1 resellers with national rights to Adobe products...whatever that means. However...every single unit we've purchased on eBay works fine. Go figure.We are prohibited from using DC for a variety of reasons. I now face the possibility of asking our organization to abandon PDF as a long-term approved archival format because we cannot work with the PDFs the way we need to. This would impact about 275 million documents in
Is there a way to capture the date in which a user fills in the first field on a adobe form?
I know previous versions of Acrobat Standard had the JavaScript console, but I cannot find it in Standard DC. I've checked the Enable Acrobat JavaScript box in Preferences but I cannot find the JavaScript options in the Tool menu. Was this feature removed from Standard and it's now only available in Pro?
Hi thank you for reading,I just started using forms central and acrobat for editing forms after learning that Outlook Developer is only for total experts who prefer an outdated developer platform haha. I could make the form but the behind the scenes scripting and validating etc. are difficult for me because I don't know anyone with great IT knowledge. I have no coding experience besides knowing where to paste an exact code I need.With the submit button in Acrobat, I have an ask for you all that I haven’t been able to find exactly. I understand the idea of mailto: as a URL to open the form in outlook.In my form, I have To and CC fields that require an email address. Each employee (hundreds of them) will be filling in different To and CC email fields on the form I made. They do not have the capacity to create the script to mail automatically to their supervisors, and I can't go help them all set it up.What code would I paste in the URL to pull the form’s To and CC fields over to Outlook

In my Adobe XI document I have a filed named Date.For the Date field, it has a simple calculation script to display today's date in the dd/mm/yy format (IE 22/02/17):var today = new Date();event.value = util.printd("dd/mm/yy", today);Then I have a custom format script to take the value from the calculation script and format it to display as 22ND DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2017if (event.value) { var d = util.scand("dd/mm/yy", event.value); if (d!=null) { event.value = getCustomDateString(d); }}function getCustomDateString(d) { var ordinalSuffix; if (d.getDate()==1 || d.getDate()==21 || d.getDate()==31) ordinalSuffix = "st"; else if (d.getDate()==2 || d.getDate()==22) ordinalSuffix = "nd"; else if (d.getDate()==3) &

Not sure where to ask this so feel free to move it to the correct area.I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and there is a toolbar to the far right where the scroll bar normally goes. How do I move it to another location or remove it? I don't want to hide it. When I move the mouse to the right I want to be able to scroll down using the scroll bar. I keep opening the tool taskbar because of it's location on the far right. It's annoying, inconvenient and counter productive. I need to either move it to the far left, to the tool bar location above or to remove it completely. How do I do that?
I would like to run a script on doc/open that will import some data for later use. Any suggestions please?I am using Acrobat DC ProBill
Hello all,I hope to make my question as concise as possible without making my post too lengthy. Please let me know if anything is unclear.My goal from a 1000 foot view: Create a PDF checklist that managers will fill out for new hires. On this checklist they will select a check box for each system that they would like their new employee to have access to. The checklist will then be submitted to the Help Desk via email for account creation. A Help Desk technician will look over the form to ensure that all requested systems are actually appropriate for the new employee (e.g. a manager in the call center should not be checking the boxes to grant access to the various IT administration systems for their new hire, and it will be the Help Desk Technician's job to catch such a scenario). The Help Desk technician then launches a PowerShell script that will interact with the form, automating the setup of the various requested systems.How submission occurs: In my form there is a Submit button tha
Hi,I am a developer, we have a web application developed using asp.net and mostly we use IE and OS is Windows 8.1.There is a page that shows embed pdf files, but latest update is giving issues. Actually it shows pdf but after showing embed pdf there are other links in web page so user can navigate when user clicks on that IE becomes not responding and an acrobat icon pops up and that also becomes not responding. After few seconds(some 30-40 seconds) of delay that acrobat pop-up vanishes later web application navigates properly. This is happening for all embed PDF with latest version of Acrobat reader DC.Just for my refernce verified installing Foxit reader, there above scenarios works fine.It was working till latest update but not working now
