Loking for the javascript todo the following: I would like a field to autofill the word N/A or allow text in a field depending on the choice from a dropdown box.  The dropdown box has 5 choices and each has a numeric value from 1 to 5. Example.  If the choice from the dropbox is the 2nd choice, I want the field to automatically enter N/A in the field. If Choice 3 is selected, I want the ability to enter plain text. Thanks for the help.

Hi there,How can I change default value of DuplexMode property in Print Dialog Presets to 'Duplex Flip Long Edge'? I need every new PDF file to be created with duplex mode by default. Any suggestions? Or is it possible to achieve this programatically, say using JavaScript etc.?

I am using the date picker calendar in a form on a MacOS 10.15.5 with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2020.009.20067.  The customs format is dddd mmmm dd yyyy. When a date is picked the initial day is incorrect, however, when the date is selected the correct day is shown. Sunday -> MondayMonday -> TuesdayTuesday -> WednesdayWednesday -> Thursday Thursday -> FridayFriday -> Saturday Saturday -> Jan The pictures above show the wrong day being displayed during the picking process and the correct day being displayed after the date is selected. The problem is further compounded with console.println(this.getField("Date_af_date").value); displaying Jan June 27 2020 (the incorrect day).

I have a custom validation script on one of my text fields (WorkDate) which alerts the user to enter their name first from the drop down list (Employee Name) if it hasn't been filled in.Is there a way to add an alert by just letting them know to enter their name if not filled in but not forcing the user to enter their name first?The reason I ask is there is an issue on my form when clicking on the Clear Form button.  The way it is now is when the clear form is pressed it clears everything except the Work Date with the script in it and the alert pops up to enter the name first.  So, the name needs to be added again, delete the Work Date and then clear the form.  It's not very user friendly right now 😞 This is the script I have in the WorkDate text field...if (this.getField("Employee Name").valueAsString==this.getField("Employee Name").defaultValue) {                app.alert("Error! Hello everyone,I want to write a folder level script using js in acrobat pro that does a POST request to a server. The server returns the response in JSON format. I want to use net.soap.request() function. I do not have any idea about soap. I learned about it using docs and stuff and found that it is an XML based messaging protocol and we can make the request to a soap endpoint using the above function. Now I am confused about how can I know that my endpoint is a soap endpoint and can't we make an HTTP request using the above function to any general endpoint?Could anyone please provide some help regarding this.Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am trying to design a simple Terms and Conditions page at the beginning of a document, where users read the T&Cs, click a button that says "I Agree" and then the rest of the document is made available to them. I have seen many threads about using templates, hiding them, and then using a JavaScript button to unhide them. This would work perfectly for me, except that I am unable to make a template that is more than one page, and the documents I will be attaching this to are hundreds of pages long. It is impractical for me to make every individual page a template, hide them, and then have to write code to unhide them one by one. Does anyone either have a different way they can make this work, or even a way to make a multi-page template? I have done lots of research on this and haven't found any suitable answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!  

When I manually add a signature field I can sign immediately without saving, closing, and re-opening the PDF.  When I add a signature field programatically I can sign immediately without saving, closing, and re-opening the PDF. However, when I add a signature field programatically and also add a script to the field to be executed after signing (it doesn't matter what the script is) I get an error message: "This document could not be signed in it's current state.  Please save the document, close it, reopen it, and attempt to sign it again."  Doing what the message says works but I don't want to have to do that.  I have same issue in Acrobat Pro X  and Acrobat Pro DC.  Does any one know this happens and if there is a way around it?

I'm using a Dropdown List box. I have already added the "Items" to be displayed. However, when I select an item, I would like for a different value to be exported in to the same box. For example: Let's say my list contains the list of the 50 states, each state spelled out. When I select "Texas", I would like for the value exported to be "TX". Snooping around I found this code, but nothing happensevent.value = event.target.getItemAt(event.target.currentValueIndices, true);I'm inserting it in the Validate tab - Run Custom Validation Script. I've also tried it on the Calculate tab - Custom Calculation Script: Is there something I'm missing here?Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I'm new here and new to Acrobat. I have successfully added a button to a form I want to duplicate and it is duplicating the form correctly. This issue I'm having is that I've added a batch Rename in the javascript but it's only taking effect on the third page generated. The page that's generated after the first button press is a direct copy of the original(fields and all), but the button on the newly generated form produces a clean form with empty fields. How do I get my original form button to produce a clean form with empty fields on the first duplication of the form?

I want to get rectangular position with height & width on the mouse drag. Can I make below code more dynamic? Hello, new to acrobat and trying to use the "catalog plugin" to create a full text index of  a pdf file(s). At first I was having a hard time finding if this plugin was already installed in the Acrobat DC Pro I jsut installed. Now while in Acrobat, I click "About Adobe Plugins" , I get a dialog box listing what I assume are different plug ins on the left side. I click on "catalog" and on teh right side I see "catalog.api" and it displays "yes" for loaded and certified. So am I all set to use the catalog plugin?  I honestly beleive that when I first saw this about screen it said "no" for loaded but I can't be certain. Could I have installed this plugin without knowing? This may seem like a stupid question but I will have clients that will need this plugin. Is there another way to determine if this catalog plugin is installed and ready to use other than this about box?

Very new to Acrobat and using the SDK to interact with PDF files.  I am trying to create a program / app that will index a PDF file (ie create a pdx catalog) so the user does not have to open adobe acrobat and manually create a full text index.  A little overwhelmed by all the different articles on the SDK but after researching countless articles I think the PDF library API is the best way for me to proceed.  I am a Delphi developer but I do have some C experience. When creating multiple PDFs in succession, I receive the error: Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files. "acrobat.dll\AMT\" and then the error "Error registering Distiller window class. Another copy of Acrobat Distiller may already be running. Error: 1410 - Class already exists."

I'm making a pdf that is beyond my basic knowledge of Adobe writer.  I have a few things that I need to add or fix, but I just don't know how to. ** means it's priority**-Paste a dollar amount from other programs into the [Wire Fee] and [Payoff Amount] fields. Hello, I am trying to create a fillable form where the user enters a dollar amount in three seperate fields: "cost A", "cost B", and "cost C".  I then have a fourth field ("subtotal") that adds "cost A", "cost B", and "cost C" together.  The fifth field is where I am struggling- I need the fifth field ("tax") to calculate the "subtotal" field by four percent or 0.04. I need the "tax" field to show a dollar amount, for example subtotal field equals $100.00, the tax field should calcualte 4% of the subtotal field and show $4.00.  The very last field is the "total amount due" which would be the sum of the subtotal and tax fields.  What is the best way to accomplish this?  Thank you in advance 🙂

I have a acrobat form with a drop down with 3 customer types: Company, NPO, Individual. I also have several drop downs on the same form that might be dependent on my customer type selection. For example, if I select Individual, I want some drop down boxes to have a dash -, because that particular question does not relate to individuals. I manage to do that easy enough. However if I select Individual and I change my mind to select Company instead, the dash - stays in the field. How do I write a code to remove the dash as soon as a change is made from Individual to Company, without having resetting the entire form. 

Hello,I am trying to create a visual basic script to insert information from an Access database into a fillable pdf but due to my company's security settings all pdfs open in Protected View. I'm wondering if anybody knows of a way to "click" the "Enable All Features" button by way of coding - preferrably in visual basic if possible. I am unable to install external software to make this happen.

Is it possible in Acrobat to automatically create/insert bookmarks when a particular string (ex: Order #) is encountered?  I am trying to create individual work order files from one large PDF file (using Split Document into multiple files using bookmarks), but I need to create bookmarks each time the string "Order #" is encountered.  Because the pages vary based on the work order specs (drawings, material needed, instructions, etc.), this text string is not located in a predictable spot on each page.  Once the "Order #" is found, I need to insert a bookmark that includes "Order #" and the next 9 characters that come after it. I know how to do it manually, but there could be 100 or more orders in one file.  Any help is greatly appreciated...thanks!

I have field1 and field 2, on field 1 I have app.alert to limit me from entering specific value from field 2 even though field 1doesn't calculate that value when alert pop itstill change value in field2. What I need to do so when I get alert that field2 stay same and doesn't change it's current value?
