Hi,

I am new to posting pictures and have had a few pictures rejected. I attach here a picture for some feedback from the community.

In general, I suppose, you should work the framing. Just looking at your first picture, I identified multiple errors. If you intend to photograph for stock, you should do a minimum of clean-up before the shoot.

Those cleaning tools (cloud, left) are nice to have nearby, but they do not add to the attractiveness of the picture. You can't cut off your picture with the bowl cut-off and the hands cut off. The best would be, having the baby's face in the picture. That will make your picture marketable. The same with the bottom of the picture. I would expect the stool to be completely in the frame. That white board to the right needs either to get cropped out, or moved away.

You should be able to stage this picture completely, if you want it to be a success on stock. You can be sure that the baby will be a zealous participant in this. It will eat as messy as usual, if that is the intent of the picture.

Cropping pictures is an integral part of the picture processing. If you want to stand out of the crowd, it is important that people's eyes stick to your picture, when browsing. I understand well, that your pictures are snapshots and were not intended for stock at a first stage, but I would recommend, if you intend to photograph “models” for stock, that they get minimal preparation, like a little hair comb.

Compare your work with other Stock inventory in the same keyword category.

I find it helps to see what other contributors are doing.  Your goal is not to imitate other people's work but to find a unique style all your own.

I take note, take care of the scene completely, a good crop and make it attractive. I imagine that with time I will learn how to make commercial scenes.
All your appreciations help me a lot to realize all my mistakes, thank you very much.

You're welcome. And don't forget: we all here started the learning curve inexperienced. And adding pictures to stock is different from taking family snapshots. What is nice in a snapshot may not be sellable on stock, and vice versa.

Hi @Miriam Arbilla ,

The first photo is poorly composed and out of focus.

The second photo is better focused but needed more depth. The white balance is also out. It is too cool.

The third photo is also too cool, has too much negative space, not sharp and has inadequate depth.

The fourth file is slightly underexposed.

The fifth photo is out of focus, has color fringing on the edge of the popcorn and over exposed.

Best wishes

Jacquelin

sin título (7 de 14).jpg - overexposed- detail is lost in the popcorn kernels

sin título (3 de 12).jpg - there is a magenta tint in the sky, sensor spots visible in the clouds, and this is not well composed. Did you include a model release for the woman?

Yes, I have the model's authorization.

Looking at your photos I see your problems are focus, exposure and cropping.

In some of the phootos, you have sensor spots.

Also, IP releases and or model releases may be needed.

Thank you very much for your answer and sincerity.
Now I see the stains on the sensor.... I will clean it today.

As for your pictures, you will need to clean them during post-production. Sensor spots are mostly visible in the sky area, especially when you add contrast to the sky, to bring out the clouds.

Be careful when cleaning the sensor. It is very sensible.

Please give us Adobe's reason for rejection for each picture. We might guess, but we could waste your time with a wrong guess.

You are absolutely right, sorry, the rejection is due to quality problems.
