Help. I had this image rejected for quality issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for any feedback.

Hi @melaf,

The camera takes light. Therefore, it will not focus without enough exposure. You have to get the exposure correct.

There is a technique to taking photos like these and getting them right. If you wish to venture into these kinds of photography then it would worth the while learning it. There are introduction to two courses by Ben Long at this link. You can benefit from the courses he does on exposure.

Hi @melaf ,

The dark areas has no details and are out of focus. The colors in the dark area close to the light streak is not smooth.

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. I was using autofocus on this image and the camera might have been searching during the long exposure. I have captured this shot several times successfully. Don't know why the last couple of attempts have failed. I appreciate all of the feedback.

It appears that this was shot handheld (no tripod), as all the other elements are quite blurry.

You need a steady hand for handheld photography for an exposure time of 49s. 😄

I'm sure there was a tripod or similar in use.

A snapshot of a streak of light against a dark sky.  No color, no rocket details. Not great photography.
