Cross-Product Creative Challenge #4: Awesome Travel Poster

  • May 15, 2025
  • 12042 views

How to Particiate:

Generate a starter image (or a vector in Illustrator) for your creation, using Firefly, Adobe Express, Photoshop, or text-to-vector in Illustrator. This is only the start!

Expand the image into a finished product of your choice using at least one other app from Creative Cloud and/or Substance 3D. The point of the challenge is to work across apps.

Save an image, screenshot, or video clip of your final artwork, post it as a reply to this post, and describe your process and which tools you used.

The Challenge:

Pick an adventurous or relaxing travel location. It doesn't have to be on Earth; anywhere in the Universe is fine, as NASA’s famous exoplanet posters make clear!

Use Firefly, Illustrator, Adobe Express, or Photoshop to generate a beginning scene for your poster.

Expand it to poster size and add in people or things to fill out the attraction.

Add text with a great slogan!

Firefly Prompt: Stylized graphic novel art, bold outlines, dynamic motion lines, high-contrast color palette. Dynamic, tilted perspective as if from a spacecraft navigating a colossal, artificially constructed canyon on a Dyson Sphere's surface. Towering walls with intricate technological details and ambient light sources rise on both sides. Directly ahead, a spectacular energy discharge bursts forth, forming a breathtaking tunnel of crackling, iridescent, intensely colored light. Sense of thrilling motion, travel poster allure.

Starter image made with firefly then placed in Photoshop.
Generative expand to fit the poster size, Generated items (futuristic city, spaceship, dragon, galleon, robot reader...)
Title and tagline added (+layer styles) Then to finish I created a cloudy vignetting and a suble grain...
Hope two platforms used is enough...

Started with Firefly.
"A radiant portal opens in the middle of an ancient forest, shimmering with vibrant hues of violet, gold, and emerald. A lone traveler in a flowing cloak steps through, surrounded by swirling particles of light and floating orbs. Beyond the portal, a dreamlike landscape unfolds"

Moved to Photoshop with touching up, generative fill, filters, text.

I realize this is a new technology and I'm excited about the future of AI. But this also demonstrates how far away I am from using this for anything but fun. This was one of the few poster variations that had 'Italy' spelled correctly. And, moving the Eiffel Tower to Italy is cute.

Love the vintage poster vibe here but I'm not sure Eiffel's Tower is at its place 😉
Since it's a cross platform challenge you could use your favorite design app to replace it by Tower of Pisa and fix the tagline...
Great piece anyway!

The Hidden Isles of Aurora Borealis

"Where the stars meet the sea..."

For this travel poster challenge, I imagined a mystical Earth retreat nestled beneath glowing auroras and floating lanterns — a place where starlight touches ocean waves. I began my creative process in Adobe Express, using the Firefly image generator to create a dreamy, otherworldly landscape filled with glowing trees and bioluminescent waterfalls.

I then added title text and a travel call-to-action, keeping the layout clean to let the image shine. To deepen the mood, I imported the design into Photoshop and made final adjustments to hue, saturation, and contrast — enhancing the magical color palette and emphasizing the twilight ambiance.

This was a fun creative journey that combined storytelling, design, and color — and I’d book a ticket to this place in a heartbeat.

Apps used:
Adobe Express (base design + text)
Photoshop (color grading + final polish)

For this I generated a vector using the Adobe Firefly text-to-vector feature with the prompt "Can I have a simple travel poster of German village, vector, style of national park, forest in the background". From there, I downloaded it and then opened the file in Adobe Illustrator to tweak any generation issues. I also swapped the original text from nonsense to English, using the city I am currently in for reference.
