Help me understand, Adobe: You finally invite me to beta test Firefly video. Two horribly executed prompts later and now every time I enter a prompt I get a pop-up to pay $10 or $30 to generate videos with the BETA version of Firefly. Explain to me your strategy behind giving your paying customers a couple of free prompts and then asking them to pay for more when you haven't even developed a product that is seemingly capable of consistently producing usable content. Oh, and by the way, maybe you should mention the two video generation limit in your sign-up and acceptance emails.

That doesn't explain anything. If the product is still pre-release, that price matrix shouldn't be in effect. Given the low quality of the output, asking paying CC users to shell out that much extra per month is a non-starter, even if they take the Beta label off. It also doesn't remotely address the question I asked in the post- How does Adobe think this strategy makes sense?

I am participating in the Firefly Generative Video beta.

After two generations, the following request for purchase is shown and I cannot create any more videos.

I'm trying out the new image to video feature that I just got access to.
I have 1000 credits for Firefly, but why can't I use my credits?

A warning screen appears asking me to request a loan from my manager.

Hello Adobe CS Representative,

I am told I have run out of complimentary credits when I have a paid subscription.  I guess I don't understand, is the message saying I have used 991 / 1000 credits, which would be impossible as I use a local version of Flux to generate images and I just started using the video generator today.  If it is that I have used 9 credits so far, then that would make sense, but why am I being prevented from creating any additional videos?  Thank you for your help.

The problem, Droopy, is that Adobe has once again really botched the rollout of this and further angered their customers by declaring a new feature then cutting off access before you can actually make a decent video. You would think that Adobe, with its massive returns for investors, would provide these tools for ample testing in the beta stage. I generated two remarkably bad videos based on an image and was then cut off. This is a terrible terrible strategy to apply to your users whose work you already trained your AI on before you suddenly had to backtrack due to the bad press, declaring how you don't use our images for training. Yes, now you don't, because you got caught. Great job. Keep on alienating us.

I have 1000 credits but https://firefly.adobe.com/upload/video-generation wants Request access to: Adobe Firefly Pro which is not possible. Is Adobe Firefly Pro not included in our Creative Cloud All Apps subsciption?

In Firefly text to video beta, I am trying to create video tests, but I get a popup to buy a subscription and then an error saying that I have run out of complimentary credits. Yet my account dropdown says that I have 1500 credits. FYI - the two tests that I have run so far are unusable, so I am not going to purchase a subscription in addition to the subscription that I already have.

I received the email today that i now have access to Generate Video via Adobe Firefly. When i went to the dashboard to try it out, it stated that i was already out of credits. How can that be?

This is extremely dissapointing, the whole point of me getting Creative Cloud was because it said Firefly was included. This feels scammy and out of integrity.

Hello @JuanoPY,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

Users on Creative Cloud plans can use their credits on any standard Firefly feature (e.g., Generative Fill, Generate Image). However, users need to be on Firefly premium plan (or a Creative Cloud Pro plan in North America and rolling out to other regions as of July 1) to access premium features like:

  • Generative Video
  • Translate Video
  • Translate Audio
  • Translate & Lip Sync*
  • Non-Adobe models
  • Image Model 4 Ultra
  • Generative Extend in Premiere Pro

Adobe is providing all users the ability to try out the premium features. Complimentary generations vary by premium feature (e.g., 2 complimentary generations of Generate Video).

This is the table in the Frequently asked questions about generative credits document that illustrates this:

Even though individual creative cloud plans have generative AI credits, those credits cannot be used for video creation beyond the limited trial. Video generation will need one of the paid Firefly premium plans, which are Firefly Plus or Firefly premium (shown in the chart above). More information on Firefly plans is available at: Compare plans that include creative AI.

For more information on the rollout of Creative Cloud Pro plans, please see: Changes to Creative Cloud for individuals plans including students and teachers plans.

More information on standard and premium generative features is contained in this document Adobe posted on Reddit: Adobe Firefly Announcements / Video Model / FAQ. For more information on Creative Cloud Pro, see: Creative Cloud Pro brings new tools and creative controls.

Thanks,
    droopy

Bonjour

Bonjour @Seb Morin,

That is a good question. I am not sure I know the full answers yet, but our main guide is: Frequently asked questions about generative credits (Questions fréquentes sur les crédits génératifs ). This seems to be the relevant table:
