Adobe After Effects 2023 program is giving me an error. After working for 1-2 minutes in the workspace, I encounter an error like the one in the screenshot. I am using the original program and the latest updates, but I can't find the source of the error. I would appreciate it if you could help. Good day.

I believe me, I have no idea either. I installed the missing fonts, and I'm still getting the same error 😞

I can only work off the log files and that is indicating the issue is related to font usage, and that we know there is a crash around missing fonts with the same information in the log file. If you don't think it is that, do you have any other theories?

In terms of the difference between Beta and non-Beta builds, the Beta builds have more in-development features, but the project files are compatible between the two types of builds.

It was giving a crash error in the normal After Effects, but in the beta version, it's closing without crashing directly. Is the difference between these versions due to the file extension being .tmp in the logs folder of the normal After Effects program instead of .txt? Also, I don't believe it's due to a font issue; even after installing the missing fonts, I still encounter the same error. I haven't experienced this kind of problem before due to a font deficiency.

We are working on a fix that would go into our AE Beta builds in the next week, but it's probably at least a few weeks before a fix goes into the non-Beta build. You may be able to make things better by finding and installing the missing fonts including:

Walking-in-the-Street
CocogooseNarrow-Letterpress
CocogooseCondensed-Letterpress
Pollock2CTT-Regular

How soon can it be fixed? I couldn't work today, and I have a lot of tasks piled up. Could you please give me some time? Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks. That actually helps tremendously. What I'm seeing is a lot of font substitutions - as in your system doesn't have the fonts used in the project. AE is trying to replace those fonts with ones you do have (or have access to in Adobe Fonts). But it's hitting an issue where the fonts are not syncing correctly. We are actually working on fixing this bug right now.

The crash is occuring due to some sort of script or layer expression that is running while you're working. We should probably get a log file generated so I can see what's being loaded.

1. Start AE

2. From the Help menu, choose Enable Logging. Restart AE.

3. Use AE until it crashes.

4. Start AE again, go to the Help menu and choose Reveal Logging files...

5. Find the folder that contains the After Effects (Beta) Log-last.txt file. Open that and paste the contents of that file into a reply here on the forums.

I didn't quite understand what you said, but currently, there are no installed plugins. I'm using After Effects as it is when it was first installed.

Thanks - I see 3 crashes reported now. All of them point to some sort of script or expression executing that is causing AE to crash. Do you have any extensions/panels installed and running? Or are you working with expressions or scripts?
