Issue with MB PRO 16 Intel i7 - After Effects V 2024 Kernel Panic

Hi All,

I have two users who are experiencing an issue with After Effects V 2024.
The two users have exactly the same hardware setup. They are running the same macOS Sonoma operating system and the same version of AE, but unfortunately, they also have the exact same problem.

After a few minutes of using After Effects, even on lightweight projects, the Mac freezes and often goes into kernel panic, forcing a restart. Needless to say, this problem causes significant inconvenience to the user who cannot use After Effects.

What could I try to do to resolve this? I know that many others have had a similar problem (see the link). Currently, I have tried:

• Uninstalling AE version 2024 and reinstalling it
• Resetting PRAM
• Clearing the cache

I have not been able to solve it. The next steps will be to have the users try using AE in safe mode. And update to Sonoma 14.4 which has recently been released and the operating system has not yet been updated. It's incredible that a widely-used program like After Effects causes so many problems for so many people. If you have any suggestions to offer, I thank you in advance because I am really desperate and don't know how to solve it. Thanks in advance! Luca
