A question please.

I have after effect cs6.

If I put an object into the composition, then that object is on the screen forever.
I want control when an object appear into the composition.

I want the object on the screen at frame X,but at frame y must disappear.
Later,if I want the object must appear again.

Thanks very much

Maybe click on the layer for the object and press ”t“ for opacity. Click the stop watch on fame x then move the timeline indicator to frame ”y” and take the number on opacity to zero. After you set all of your key frames click on the word opacity to select your key frames then right click on any keyframe and choose toggle hold key frame.

thanks to all for the asnswers.

    If I understand, well,
    once on the timeline
a layer ends, then that layer cannot be repeated on the timeline

    I must duplicate the layer.

    I will watch that tutorials.

    Thanks very much,

With all due respect, you do NOT understand at all.

You MUST MUST MUST spend some time learning how to use After Effects.

Learn After Effects CC: Learning Path | Pluralsight

In addition to the videos provided here which I linked above, both lynda.com and Pluralsight

are excellent learning resources and both have a free 30 day trial period.

If you take advantage of those 60 days of free learning you will be off to a good start.

My advice is to follow a learning path, starting with the most basic introductions and moving forward to more complicate dprojects.

Really? Have you spent any time with the basics? Duplicate the layer, set in and out points or create a solid and use it as a track matte and animate the track matte's opacity. Nothing to it if you have spent more than an hour here: Basic AE AE is so complex that you are just wasting time poking around trying to figure things out.

Oh man, why didn't I think of that!

I'm not doing you any favors by telling you the solution is to pre-compose the layer then put a solid above the pre-comp. Switch the pre-comp's trkMat option to alpha invert then keyframe the opacity of the solid from fully un-opaque to fully opaque at the place in the timeline where you want the object to appear.

Or spend 4 minutes watching an animation tutorial after having watched all the beginner tutorials before it.
