Slow UI when using high resolution display

Hello,

After Effects UI is slower when I use a high resolution display.

Some actions like : moving the comp with hand tool / moving points of a mask are very slow on my UHD display (3840 x 2160 px).

When I swith to my other display (1920 x 1080 px) it's very fast.

When I reduce the size of the After Effects window, it's very fast too.

It's slow when AE window is extended all over my UHD display

Where does it come from and how to fix it ???

My specs :

i7 5820k

32Gb DDR4

GTX 960 4GB

SSD

Thanks !

Hi Isidore Isou,

Did you ever get your issue solved?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi @Kevin_Monahan

I'm encountering the same issue than @Isidore_Isou.

I'm working with a Samsung Ultra Wide Screen display (C49HG90) and Adobe After Effects CC 16.1.3 is acting weirdly.

When I move stuff around into my composition, it's reacting slowly as if I had a low Hz display.

And when I drag my resolution down from 3840 x 1080 to 1920 x 1080 or even 2560 x 1080, the problem disappears.

Is there any way you could help me with, please?

Thank you.

I've tried with different version : CC 2017, CC 2014. CC2014 seems to be a little more responsive than CC2017.

It only happens with huge comp (PSD file 5000x3000 in a comp). But when I reduce the window, everything is perfectly responsive.

I'd like to know if it's a Ram/Graphic Card/Software problem.

Thanks !

I've just look at my processor when I'm moving the comp with the hand tool and it's lagging : it's very CPU consuming (400% when it's lagging, 120% when it's not.)

Any idea ?

Edit : well when I change the resolution to Half it stops lagging, since I'm at 50% zoom it seems logical. But anyway it should not lag when I'm at 100% since I'm just moving an image with the hand tool right ?
