AE vs AE beta M1 speed

Hello

Would I notice any difference in speed using the current AE released and beta version on an M1 mac?

The reason I ask is: I was originally using PP & AE beta, because PP beta supported Apple Silicon.

Now Premier has officially been released to support Apple Silicon and I'm wondering if I should continue using AE beta or the latest official release until an Apple Silicon AE is released.

I'm mainly looking at the speed in its workflow, like 3d tracking, adding titles etc.

Cheers

Jamie

@JamieWoods You'll be happy to know that After Effects (Beta) is now a Universal app that supports Apple silicon. More details available here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta-discussions/after-effects-beta-now-on-apple-silicon/td-p/12474342

That's great news, thanks John.

well, I think you'd better use normal AE, since the current releases of the beta version are coming with changes in multi-render, including the preview, and I think the next releases won't come very stable. (the current version has a lot of lag in the play preview because of the new multi-render available for preview).

But, keep an eye on the Beta version because I think there will be some release support for the M1 chip soon. Then I think it pays to go back to using the Beta version.

Thats great to know. I've been really struggling to get AE Beta to a useable state over the last couple of days, on my new M1 MacBook Pro. Think I'll switch back to the official release, so I dont have to wait about 18 seconds for the RAM preview to play!

you can solve this in the beta version, in Preferences -> Memory and Performance -> and disable the mult-render.
the lag should stop.
