Issues with multitrack mixdown and effects applied

Hi!

I'm having some issues when I apply "Dynamics processing" and the "sidechain" effect and links that to autoduck the music under speak.

In the Multitrack view it works as supposed, but when I mixdown the multitrack to a single file, it applied the "Dynamics processing" effect on the entire track, instead of only when the ducking should be applied during speech.

It used to work flawlessly, but for some reason after updating to Audition 2020, it doesn't work as it's supposed to anymore.

I've tried creating a new track and using that, but the effect is the same.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Patrick

Hi all,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'll report this to the Audition team and see if they are aware of this bug. I will get back to you with an update.

Best,

Rameez,

Have seen on another forum this was meant to be fixed in 13.0.1 - but I'm having the same issue today in 13.0.2.25?  Can you please confirm if it was fixed prior and has reoccured, or is this the same bug pending fix?

Hi FUZZGURU,

This was fixed in Audition 13.0.1.

Can you install Audition 13.0.3 (released on Feb 19) and check if you experience the same behavior.

Let me know.

Rameez

I would love to see Adobe acknowledge this issue.
In general it seems that Adobe care less about user input?

I've been in contact with support 4 (FOUR!!!) times, and all 4 times I've been instantly transferred to another technician.
They all promise they will get back to me, but they never do.
Neither do they contact be via email as they promise.

Please better your support and take responsibility for the issues we experience.
It is indeed what we pay quite alot of money for 🙂

I'm having the exact same issue trying to mix down some audio ducking with a sidechain, didn't start up until the 2020 update. In program it acts fine but once it's mixed down it seems like the sidechain is ignored and applys the dynamic processing - soft limit across the enitre track.

Firstly, I'm actually really glad that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue - This is clearly a bug as auto ducking using Dynamics Processing and choosing the Sidechain preset is made for, well, autoducking/sidechaining.

I hope Adobe will look into this issue ASAP!
Until then, I guess I'll have to revert back to Audition CC 2019 (as mentioned by @johnc318.

Thank you guys! 🙂

EDIT:

Luckily I got the Waves package and thus using that with the "Rcompressor Stereo" from Waves that is sidechain compatible in Audition got it working for me for now as a workaround.

But Adobe, please fix your own plugins as well.

In Multitrack view it works as it's supposed to, but when mixed down, it applies the Dynamics Processing effect to the entire track instead of only ducking when it's supposed to.

Thank you!

FYI I tried the Dynamics Processing module in Audition 2020. Unless I'm missing something it doesn't work here either. However - everything works fine when using substitute processing tools that support EXT. sidechaining. E.g. FabFilter Pro-C 2 Compressor and TDR Kotelnikov over at Tokyo Dawn Records (the basic version is free). You just need to make sure EXT. SC support is activated within the noted tools.

The same thing is happening to me, and my work collegues. We rely on the dynamics auto ducking feature to produce our product. Thankfully reverting back to a previous version (AA2019) has helped, but the new update was dseigned to bring out new features, and fix bugs. Ironically this didnt happen when updating from CC2017, through CC2019.
